Great trip!
From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, we had a great time! Ysmilsa at the front desk went above and beyond and provided excellent customer service. I wish I got the names of others around the pool area who served us daily. The staff there are great. Pools are clean, rooms are clean (a bit musty but that's what happens when you're in the Caribbean). Always something to eat at the buffet (even for those picky eaters like myself). The a-la-cartes were easy to book and it was fun trying them all. We even went back to Sakura for a second time it was so enjoyable. The only thing I noticed if you're travelling with young kids, there is a lack of changing stations in the bathrooms. I had a hard time changing my baby appropriately when out for dinners or exploring. We are repeat guests and have plans to go back in 2027!

Lovely holiday in the dominican
We had a lovely 2 week holiday here. Was a bit worried from some reviews but didn't need to have worried at all. The resort was beautiful. The room was lovely, yes there maybe were some things that could have been fixed but if they were the holiday would have cost a lot more. We had a normal room on the el beso side. Didnt have any issue with humidy/smells. We spent most of our time around the el beso quiet pool, Jose, Javier and a lady (sorry didn't get her name!) Were all very attentive. We had a concierge as we booked with tui (though didn't know this!) Carlos, who was always there if needed, especially for restaurant bookings, but we mainly did this ourselves as there was always availability. He did manage to get the sports bar to put the man city game on for us! The buffet was great, we preferred the main buffet even though we could have used the adult only, lots of choice. We used the al carte restaurants in the evening, the only one we didn't enjoy was route 66. Darianny in the Mexican was lovely with us. The beach wasn't a major part of our holiday. But was nice, I think if you wanted to swim you'd have to go to the lagoon area. I would say every single member of staff we encounterd were really lovely, Mary was our maid for the first week, she did a great job. For the negatives I would say having to avoid the people in the white shirts. The cost of things in the hotel shop. And the taxi costs, we like to visit the local area, we did go into the bavaro area, and had a meal which was nice but was really expensive. We did a couple of excursions, the buggy and saona island which were good. Overall we had a lovely time. And would easily recommend to others.

Ocean El Faro – Our Home Away From Home
After seven visits to Ocean El Faro — including several two‑week stays and, this year, an incredible three‑week escape — I can confidently say this resort continues to exceed our expectations. Every year we return, we notice improvements, upgrades, and thoughtful touches throughout the property. It’s clear the team takes pride in constantly elevating the guest experience. One of the highlights for us is always our master suite. The view is breathtaking, and we’re so grateful that the hotel consistently does everything possible to accommodate our room requests. Waking up to that scenery never gets old. But what truly brings us back year after year is the people. The employees here are the heart of the resort — warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. The service is top‑notch, and we always feel so well taken care of. Our butler, Alexander De La Rosa, is exceptional. A true class act — professional, thoughtful, and always one step ahead. With him around, we never want for anything. We’ve also grown close to other wonderful butlers over the years, including Elizabeth and Alexander V., who always greets us with a smile and a “Do you need anything?” Their kindness means so much. Breakfast at Pez Dama is one of our favorite daily rituals. Seeing Carmen, Isaac, Miquel, Joel, Inaury, and the rest of the kitchen team is like reuniting with old friends. They’re always cheerful, always cooking something delicious, and this year we were treated to a special lunch and stew prepared by Inaury — an unforgettable experience. At the pool and beach, Victor and Smiley took such great care of us. Victor especially went above and beyond at the El Faro “party pool,” making every day fun and effortless. And we absolutely adore Naomi, our poolside waitress — sweet, fast, attentive, and always getting our drinks just right. Over at the El Beso adult side, we always enjoy seeing the team there — including Ivan, the manager, who is approachable and clearly invested in keeping that area running smoothly. At the El Beso Beach Bar, Daurius, Danny, and Natanel were absolutely fabulous. We look forward to seeing Daurius every year — he truly makes our day. We also enjoyed the spa again this year. Jenny did a wonderful job with our massages and mani‑pedis, and we absolutely love Enrique, who always books our services with a warm smile and a kind heart. A special shout‑out to Emmanuel from the Entertainment (Blue) Team. He stood out this year with his friendliness, energy, and the way he kept us informed about activities. His aquafit class is a must. We noticed improvement across the entire Blue Team — great job all around. I’m sure we’re still forgetting someone, but that’s only because there are so many amazing people here. If you come across negative reviews, take them with a grain of salt. We find everything we need — and more — every single time. Ocean El Faro is a place to relax, recharge, and feel genuinely cared for. Check it out and enjoy it as much as we do. Until next year, Ocean El Faro.

Great all-inclusive resort. Could be anywhere.
Immaculately presented resort. Huge rooms with all amenities. Great room service and very good standard maintained every day. To get the best of a holiday there, embrace the fun and noise culture round the pool. Constant background throbbing drumbeat soundtrack can wear a bit thin after a week. It's all about 'feeling the beat' and 'soaking up the sun'. Nowhere to go outside the resort - don't expect to mix with any locals or see any carribean culture, other than the evening entertainment within the 'village'. This was our greatest disappointment.
