  Great Location, Disappointing Dining & Service

  We truly loved the location and the rooms — both were beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what we were hoping for. The resort itself is in a great spot and made for a relaxing atmosphere overall. Unfortunately, the food, especially at dinner, was a major disappointment. We’ve stayed at four other Occidental resorts in the past, and this location had by far the worst food quality we’ve experienced. For an all-inclusive resort, the quality and variety were far below expectations. We actually left the resort to eat dinner three different nights because we just couldn’t find anything we enjoyed onsite, which shouldn’t happen when you’re paying for all-inclusive dining. The service also left a lot to be desired. Most of the staff we encountered were not very friendly or welcoming, which took away from the experience. On top of that, housekeeping was inconsistent — our room was often not cleaned until after 5 PM, which made it inconvenient to come back and relax or get ready for the evening. While the beautiful rooms and great location were definite highlights, the food, service, and housekeeping issues kept this from being the enjoyable experience we were hoping for

  I will not visit this resort unless they improve on the toilets and having a rampI for one of the poolsso that guests with mobility issues can enjoy the pool.

  Great family all-inclusive resort!

  We have been there a couple of times. Rooms are a bit dated but everything else is great. Beach is very nice, all common areas, are great. Staff is very nice.

  I would not recommend to family or friends. Property has a lot of deferred maintenance . Staff is friendly & very good. Restaurant reservation process is very inconvenient ...unless you like getting up at 6:45am-7am....to get in line to wait till 7:30 am when they start giving out reservations only for that day if you don't get reservation...you're stuck with buffet, which we found to be the least liked food.

  Lovely hotel with a beautiful beach

  Lovely hotel and lovely staff. Hotel located in the hotel zone. Booked room with a sea view and balcony (not all sea view rooms have a balcony). Room was in the corner so we got a view of the lagoon also. Room although a little dated but very spacious and clean, bed was very comfortable, aircon smelt of cigarette smoke, we reported this issue and it was fixed quickly. 3 a la carte restaurants and 2x breakfast and lunch buffet and a 24hr snack section. Not a massive variety of food options in the buffets but there was ways something available to eat and I was really happy that I finally got to try tamales 😊. Mainly had our breakfast and lunch in La Claraboya ( in the evening it becomes a la carte). Staff in La Claraboya are very friendly and welcoming and chatty - Carolina, Teresa, Omar, Dalida and Ana. Tried the a la carte restaurant’s for evening meal and also the buffet El Mirador. There is a shopping mall opposite hotel and another one called La Isla about a 20 minute walk. There are 3 swimming pools, the adult one has a swim up bar. Towels are provided. Managed to get a sun lounger. The beach is amazing, very clean, however no parasols/palapas on the beach, there are palm trees.
