Lovely hotel with a beautiful beach
Lovely hotel and lovely staff. Hotel located in the hotel zone. Booked room with a sea view and balcony (not all sea view rooms have a balcony). Room was in the corner so we got a view of the lagoon also. Room although a little dated but very spacious and clean, bed was very comfortable, aircon smelt of cigarette smoke, we reported this issue and it was fixed quickly. 3 a la carte restaurants and 2x breakfast and lunch buffet and a 24hr snack section. Not a massive variety of food options in the buffets but there was ways something available to eat and I was really happy that I finally got to try tamales 😊. Mainly had our breakfast and lunch in La Claraboya ( in the evening it becomes a la carte). Staff in La Claraboya are very friendly and welcoming and chatty - Carolina, Teresa, Omar, Dalida and Ana. Tried the a la carte restaurant’s for evening meal and also the buffet El Mirador. There is a shopping mall opposite hotel and another one called La Isla about a 20 minute walk. There are 3 swimming pools, the adult one has a swim up bar. Towels are provided. Managed to get a sun lounger. The beach is amazing, very clean, however no parasols/palapas on the beach, there are palm trees.

Frustrating Check-In and Limited Food Options
We stayed at this hotel with our family last month and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing in several areas. The food was average overall, with very limited dessert options, and the quality of the desserts was poor. There was ice cream available at the restaurant by the pool, but it was often finished, and when available, it was of very low quality. Check-in was particularly frustrating. After a long flight, we had to wait at least an hour to check in, and this was made worse by the disorganized process and lack of staff to attend to guests. This lack of organisation was also evident whenever we needed to queue for restaurant bookings—there was often no one available to assist, and the system felt chaotic throughout our stay. We also noticed instances where local guests appeared to receive premium alcoholic drinks after paying good tips, which created an uncomfortable feeling of unequal treatment among guests. While the hotel has potential, these issues—including disorganization, inconsistent service, and poor food quality—negatively impacted our stay. Significant improvements in staff presence, organisation, and quality would make a big difference to the overall guest experience.

Beware of the 5 star reviews
If you get nothing else out of this review, know this: Upon check in we were offered an "upgraded room" after completing a Trip Advisor review. Well needless to say, the upgraded room never happened. So here is the real review: The food was horrible. There was not a whole lot of variety and what they did have was cold, flavorless and gross. Only stayed 4 days but I couldn't believe how much looser my clothes fit when I left. I bet I had lost 10 pounds. I actually saw someone else get a delivery from Uber Eats. I jokingly asked him why and his response was "the food here sucks." The room was very worn out and dated. There was no hot water in the shower and the room was very small. Surprisingly the bed was very comfortable. The pool was alright. It was kind of on the small side but it was clean. I didn't like the fact that the adult only pool required the use of a ladder to get in and out of it. I could get in and out alright but it was very inconvenient if you had drinks in your hand. Because of this, I used the main pool which had stairs. The main pool was also where all the activities took place and had music playing. It also had lots of kids in it. Overall I wouldn't recommend staying here even though you have really good access to a great looking beach. If it wasn't for the food, I could deal with the other little things like worn out furniture and even the cold water in the shower. I mean it's not like this is the most expensive place and I wouldn't expect things to be perfect. But it's really kind of hard to have a good time when you're hungry the entire time you're there.

Family Trip
We stayed in the family suite, access to the pool and beach were awesome and convenient! We ate breakfast and lunch at the resort but ate dinner each night off site. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for my family.

The rooms and bathrooms could be a lot cleaner specially bed sheets. Cleaning services too late during the day.
The food was fine but the waiting lines take too much. The waiting list to make a reservation for dinner is not a good idea.
