Not great
If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. Customer service does not exist here. This is the SECOND DAY our rooms have not had hot water. Yesterday we were told “they’re working on it” and then when we called today we were told maintenance was coming. When they didn’t show, I went to First Club and was told “they will be there in an hour”. I don’t know, if it were me, considering I’m pretty sure it’s a breach of contract to not provide basic services/amenities like HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER, I would find a room that does have hot water and offer to move us. We will wait and see, but we will NEVER be returning to this property after this trip.

Cozumel in November
What a great time to visit Cozumel. The weather was just perfect. Occidental hotel - the staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable, beach/pool/property were clean and well maintained, the restaurants and buffets served the most delicious food. I give the hotel a 9 overall. Our toilet was leaking but they took care of it right away and 2 nights we didn't have hot water (it wasn't terrible). BE AWARE: Don't go to the beach area just before sunset until after sunrise. There are crocodiles in the water. A guest was attacked just before sunset while we were there. There are no posted warning signs, and no one told us (or other guests) that it was not safe to be at the beach during those times. Alberto's snorkeling tours - DO IT.....they took us on a 3-hour trip to 4 different locations where we saw fish, LOTS of starfish and stingrays. It was amazing and worth every penny (about $100 per person). Thanks to Pedro and Berto. You can make your reservation at guest services in the hotel. Near the pier by the hotel, you can also get free snorkeling gear for one hour per day for FREE. We booked with CozuShuttle for airport transfers. They were prompt, prices were reasonable, and their vehicles were clean and fairly new.

Terrible. Want to go home.
Came with two kids 3 and 6. We got a room right beside the show. The show doesn’t end until 10pm. My kids couldn’t sleep. We asked to change rooms. We vacated one room early morning and didn’t get the other room until 3pm. We had to change in the lobby we didn’t have access to a shower until we got our new room. Don’t bother coming here. More trouble than it’s worth. As a family we won’t be coming back. If you are a family with small children don’t travel here, they are not accommodating.

Scary Crocodile Experience!!
I went to this hotel 2 years ago and it was great, beach is beautiful with white sand. I came back and they had my room wrong the first day which took 2 hours to fix (not happy), on November 8 at 5:30pm, a poor lady was attacked by a crocodile and I was there to witness. Her and her little girl scream will stay in my head and they way the crocodile dragged her in the water. They really need to have signs to beware of crocodile. the Staff stays quiet about the crocodile and dont tell you why the beach closes at 6pm. They sent a form to the poor lady basically saying it's not the hotel fault and no police report will be needed.
