Oasis Lite in Cancun

The resort looks very nice specially the vegetation , palm trees, ponds, peacocks, lizards etc. Buildings are quite clean and and visible tremendous amount of marble being used to make it stand up. Now, we stayed in a long (180 yards apprx.) building on a 4th floor at on end while working elevator was on opposite end. The first snag we hit was when they gave as card keys that didn't work. Those keys failed again 2 days later. Few time a day walking up and down 4 floors wasn't exactly what we strived for. Buffet food was barely acceptable with breakfast sausages hard, tasteless and crunchy almost like celery sticks plus waiting in line for half an hour didn't add up any splendor to our dining experience. See food (octopus)we ordered in restaurant on premises was excellent but we had to make triple orders since what they gave us resembled more entrees then regular dishes. Bed sheets with large brownish stains were just a nail in a coffin to summarize are negative experience during our vacation there. Checkin-in resort takes more then half an hour even if you are first in line. Check-out was unbelievably fast. Our travel agent talked us into using Amstar services ( round trip shared shuttle from the airport). Big mistake. We were told it leaves every 15 minutes. Our van left after solid 40 minutes of waiting for more passengers still with only the two of us and only because we were becoming frustrated of long wait. On our trip back to the airport Amstar rep told us that we need to take the ride at least 3 hours earlier because of a rush hour traffic. the morning we checked out for our afternoon flight we asked another Amstar rep how bad was the rush hour traffic. He replied that there never is a rush hour there since the road leads only to the airport. Turned out he was right. We got there way before we needed to on the expense of our shortened stay both ways. Airport logistics is another subject to complain about but it is not relevant in describing our experience with the resort and the ride share. It is highly unlikely we will ever go back there again. We travelled elsewhere in the caribbean twice last year and our experiences were totally opposite from Cancun vacation.

Poor Experience at Grand Oasis

Overall my experience at Grand Oasis was very disappointing. The service was poor. I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff for just being there. When I arrived, no one offered to help me with my bag or to find the front desk. It's a huge property. I had to wait for my room, which is no problem, but when I did check in, the process was so short for such a large place. When I finally found my building, which no one helped me to do, I asked a lady where the elevator was and she said she doesn't speak English, So I climbed up to the third floor . Then, when I got to my room, there was NO ELECTRICTY!! You're telling me the front desk did not know the whole building did not have electricity and thought I shouldn't know? Restaurant service was also poor. I asked for water when at the buffets and not once ever received it I was sat at tables without silverware and had to get up and get my own. Most meals I was completely ignored. There was always a line at the bar. I was part of the light package So there were only a few bars to choose from, which is fine, however, I asked for drinks at one bar and the turned me down and sent me far away to a different bar who also turned me down, and best part was, they had no idea where I could get a drink!! Also as part of the light package you're supposed to pay for the water bottles in your room, but did I mention it was impossible to get water Anywhere else, Water! The food was poor. Food on the buffet that should be hot was cold. There was no bacon on the breakfast buffet. Once I asked for a pina colada and wasn't even given it frozen. The room was OK. The bed was comfortable and it was decently clean. Though I only had my room cleaned once and didn't even get a new beach towel. The chairs however are very uncomfortable metal and impossible to sit on. Forgot to mention, the electricity went out again on the second night. This was before it was even raining. The resort Was OK. It was huge, A little hard to get around. There were no activities like trivia or bingo at all. There were smokers everywhere, Which is really a bummer for non smokers. The beach is nice and big, but in the morning, the chairs are still dirty from the night before with dirty towels and Cigarette butts everywhere. I won't be going back.

Lines everywhere. Not enough staff, restaurants, or hours of service to take care of the volume of guests. Rooms are in VERY POOR condition. Will never return.

Nice hotel

It was confusing that this is not a separate hotel. This hotel has many budget levels. The food was just ok. Definitely about quantity not quality. It was very clean throughout the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was not very many activities to do at night for the package we chose. The beach wasn’t easy to access and the beverage service is not close to the beach. But it was pretty.

What's to Love

An all-inclusive resort where you get it all at a great price.

The resort sits on an almost half-mile of snow-white, soft, sandy beach. Get those toes ready.

It has the longest pool in Cancun - it's a quarter-mile long. (You can find your own Private Idaho in it.)

The non-stop crazy fun: themed parties, dancing, shows & more.

The frosty drinks at the swim-up bar. The day drinking is on.

What We'd Change

Oasis Cancun Lite doesn't offer room service, but there are plenty of spots throughout the resort to grab snacks.

Why You Should Go

It's a short 18 minutes away from the airport. Your first frosty vacay cocktail is a heartbeat away.

You can rent a Smart car, and zip around Cancun in style.

You can burn off those margaritas with aerobics, yoga and Zumba.

There's a nine-hole, par 3 golf course that's on-site at the resort.

It's a non-stop party atmosphere!

Stress-busting, beachfront massages overlooking the turquoise Caribbean.
