50th Birthday Celebration
We had a wonderful stay at Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa and cannot wait to return with our family! We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days in a Junior Suite with a personal pool, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was spotless, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The customer service throughout the resort was outstanding — everyone was friendly and attentive. The spa services were truly the highlight of our trip, providing a relaxing and rejuvenating experience that we’ll never forget. A special thank you to our butler, Angel, who was fantastic and made our stay even more enjoyable. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Worth Every Penny!
An amazing resort - beautifully kept grounds, gorgeous scenery, and going the preferred club route was a definite plus! The only thing I would change about our trip is that I wish we had brought more cash to be able to tip the lovely staff more for all that they did for us!! (Rookie mistake!! :/ Ugh!)

Lovely Vacation!
My husband and I have been to 8 resorts in the Caribbean over the past 10 years. We have spent a little less, mostly around the same or more, and the Onyx has been one of our top two vacations. The staff are lovely here, inside and out... clearly working so hard but dressed so immaculately. We found everyone we interacted with to be warm and friendly, professional and helpful. (Staff in all resorts are like this in my experience and when I read resort reviews that mention rude or inattentive staff, I am skeptical and wonder about the demeanor, basic manners and expectations of the complainer... just saying). The food was excellent. As we did not have children with us, we were able to dine at restaurants at the Breathless Resort next door which allowed us to switch it up more, which was nice as their buffet was a bit less busy. We never had to wait either way though. Buffet food selection was vast, which is typical of all resorts we have been to, but we found the quality of the dishes was better here. We eat everything and found most meat dishes and roasts to be nicely cooked and not terribly salty like some other places. FYI, I noticed lots of options for vegan, vegetarian as well as gluten free food and we were asked about allergies before every single meal. We did not try the burger bar by the beach, but got coffee and snacks at the coffee shop a few times. We liked the coffee and the slices of loaf cake. The ala cartes did not require reservations which we like better because you can just let your dinner plans unfold each day as opposed to having commitments. We never waited long if a place was full (you can sit with a drink outside and wait until they buzz you). Ala carte meals were high quality, a nice selection of dishes across the different venues. I don't always love the desserts, but that is the same for all resorts for me. We found the quality of the drinks here a whole lot better than most of the other all inclusive resorts that we have been too. House wines were enjoyable, my husband had some easily drinkable scotch and the Aperol spritzes were very tasty and refreshing. Cocktails were readily available at the buffet as well as the bars, which was nice and not an option at most of the resorts we have been too. We were in building #7, in a king room overlooking the water park. Some days it was noisy through the afternoon with music and activity, but very quiet in evening and overnight. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and by the amount of closet and storage space. The room was cleaned TWICE a day, seriously! That felt very decadent to me, but lovely. Our a/c worked very well and was pretty quiet (very rare in my experience). The sheets and towels (room and outside) were of a higher quality than most places. The beach was nice for walking along, smooth sand with no rocks or shells. The sand here is not white and pristine, but darker and stirred up in the water a bit but very easy on the feet, which I like. The water was rough on some of the days we were here but we did get in to swim on the other days. We never had an issue finding beach chairs, busy but never full. The beach was cleaned of all seaweed, we only saw a bit when we walked way away from the resort area down the beach. The beach chair area was nice and clean, no empty drinks cups or garbage left around. Just a few people selling this and that along the beach, no one coming right up to you or making you feel awkward if you do not want to buy. No resort is perfect but for us, but the pros seriously outweighed any cons here! Mel P

Great stay above expectations.
I had an awesome time at Dreams Onyx. The resort was clean, the pools were fun, and the beach was exactly what you want on vacation. Plenty of food options, good drinks, and an easy, laid‑back vibe the whole trip. The highlight was definitely my butler, Starling. He was fantastic—super helpful, always checking in, and made everything way easier. Whether it was reservations, questions, or little details, he handled it all without me even having to ask.Overall, a great stay and I’d absolutely go back. If you get Starling, you’re set.

Absolutely Amazing
The resort was amazing! Beyond clean, food was absolutely delicious- buffet had so many options even for a big ole picky eater like me. The restaurants so good my fave was the Italian (went 3 times). We were there for our daughter’s destination wedding and everyone went out of their way to make sure it was an unforgettable event. It was beyond my expectations. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. And the fun we had at the lazy river and water slides made us feel like kids again! Huge shout outs to: Starling (Butler), Ruth Inoel Johnathon the cook wedding Nicaury wedding coordinator John wedding photographer Isaac wedding supervisor You all made this an incredible trip but most of all the best memories for all 28 of us! From the bottom of my heart - thank you and cannot wait to come back! 🩷
