  Absolutely beautiful

  We came here from England from 3rd November to the 17th, and honestly, hands down it was the best hotel we've ever stayed in so far. There were just 2 of us, myself and my 11 year old son. We had unrelated problems at the airport, so were tired and stressed when we arrived, but wow, within minutes this changed completely. We were checked in very quickly, and had drinks brought over immediately to welcome us. The person checking us in was super friendly, and explained everything to us. We were given a map, showed the app and how it worked, and explained anything relevant. We were taken to our room via golf cart, which was in building 6, and was perfect. Lovely and spacious, very clean, comfortable beds, robes and slippers, tv worked great, shower was brilliant and powerful, and the whirlpool bath that came as standard was beautiful. Over the 2 weeks our room was cleaned every single day, the fridge was restocked every day, as was the coffee and sugar etc, and towels and sheets were changed whenever I asked (there were instructions on where to leave etc to be changed). The products provided were lovely too, I made use of the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion, I brought my own but I like to try 😊 We used the safe, and felt that our belongings were completely safe. Anything else left in the room was only ever touched to clean. The cleaning staff were very friendly, and every single one greeted us with a smile and a hello. We ordered room service 3 times, and each time the food was piping hot, the presentation was beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and polite. We were up fairly early each day for breakfast, and enjoyed fresh eggs or fresh crepes with plenty of coffee. Again we found all the staff to be very friendly, and after a couple of days they recognised us and greeted us warmly. If you go for breakfast a little later than 9am, it is a lot busier, i found it more relaxing earlier, although the service was fantastic either way. We never reserved sunbeds with towels, any time we went to the pool or beach there were always sunbeds available. We were greeted every day by the towel lady, the pool bar staff, and the excursion staff. Each of them kept us up to date on pool games, and activities throughout the day. I'd like to give a big shout out to Brown Sugar from Seapro too. He introduced my son to scuba diving, and gave him lessons in the pool. I feel like he went out of his way to make sure my son knew everything he needed to, and to make sure he felt fully confident. Not only that, he was lovely and chatty, and told us lots of things about Dominican culture, and taught us lots of Spanish phrases too. He checked in each morning with us, and advised us how the sea was, and if we could boogie board etc. If it wasn't for Brown Sugar, I think I'd have forgotten all the things available for us to try, so we really appreciated his help, and his advice. We also booked excursions with him, and the highlight for my son was swimming with the nurse sharks, we both thoroughly enjoyed it, despite my sea sickness 🙊 We tried every restaurant whilst there, and only once did we have to wait to be seated. Even then, we were given a pager, and could go to the bar to chill, we didn't have to stand around waiting. The food was absolutely beautiful in my opinion, with my favourite being the French or Italian restaurants. My son will eat or try anything, so im very lucky that he is easy to cater for, and enjoyed everything. He especially loved the milkshakes from the ice cream parlour, and I think I will miss the caramel frappes from the coffee shop. A side note to say that I read 3 books whilst there, and could leave them in the coffee shop for people to swap and read, so if you've forgotten any, there are books in there, and if you've finished yours, you can put them on the shelf there too. Im not a massive alcohol drinker, but I did try the cocktail of the day each day, and also tried the virgin versions of them, my favourite being the passion uber, and virgin favourite being the happy mango 😊 I also tried the welcome drinks in each restaurant, and loved the peach bellini, I found a couple of others a bit strong for me though 🙊 there is a huge selection of drinks, I'm sure there will be something for everyone. The evening shows were of a high standard, and I really enjoyed watching them, they're on a weekly format, so if you're there for two weeks, you will see them twice. We alternated nights at the arcade so that we saw each show once. The arcade was brilliant, and a favourite with my son. We were given a great deal for our whole stay, and enjoyed plenty of games of bowling, mini golf, bumper cars, air hockey, arcade games and some brilliant V.R experiences. The staff in the arcade were so nice and friendly, and we were greeted with huge smiles every night. They showed us how to use everything and were always on hand if we needed them. I liked that there were football (soccer) games on some of the tv's in there too. We enjoyed days at the waterpark, the slides were great, as was the giant hot tub, and the taco truck was a hidden gem there. The bar staff were brilliant at all the pool bars and work so hard Yes there was some seaweed in the sea, but honestly not enough for us to find it an issue at all. There were some great waves for the boarding, and the beach was clean. The staff at the beach bar and the beach grill were also brilliant, and it was the first time we drank out of coconuts lol. The sea was a lovely temperature too, and the flag system was explained thoroughly in the app. Overall, I cannot recommend Dreams Onyx enough. I would be back tomorrow if I could. My son asked if this is how millionaires and celebrities feel when they go on holiday 😂 so I think that sums it up for us. The staff here really made it as amazing as it was, and we're so appreciative to them. As a single mum, I felt completely safe here, and so did my son. We met some lovely people, from different countries, and my son made lots of friends. Everyone was friendly, and the only problem I'm going to have in future is finding any other resorts that match up to this one. For our first time in the carribean, it was absolutely perfect 👌

  Something for all ages

  What an amazing experience at Dreams Onyx. Our family of 10. Infants to adults was managed by the Dreams team every step of our trip. Room accommodations for infants to dinner reservations for 10 - including birthday dinner cake and room decorations. Was something for everyone.

  Dream Vacation at Dreams Onxy

  The resort is beautiful but what really made our trip was the phenomenal staff. Our butler Francisco made sure we had everything we needed, made all our dinner reservations and provided all activities available. The Preferred Club staff was outstanding - Poolside: Ismal, Nellie and Pedro made sure was had a drink in hand and were having a good time. Anji at the Preferred Beach made sure we had whatever we wanted and checked in hourly. The Staff did not disappointment. We were treated like royalty. We will definitely be back to see our new family. John & Ann M.

  Great Experience

  Beautiful facility, great beach and pool experience. The all inclusive was pretty much all inclusive they do offer some upgrades but nothing you have to have. The staff was amazing and exceeded our expectation! They have and adult only area and a family area. I would recommend them to anyone and hope we can visit again.
