Great vacation! Date of stay-Oct 21-27 2017

Our experience with Cheap Caribbean was very positive. Our agent was very helpful and our trip had absolutely no glitches. I highly recommend using their service for trips. We enjoyed our stay at the Majestic Mirage, this was our first stay at an all inclusive resort. When we arrived, we were escorted right away to the VIP section to get our room keys. They offered us champagne and there was a very nice buffet of treats set up. We were hungry after our flight and the treats were delicious. The concierge put our black club bracelets on our wrists, then a few minutes later our butler, Rony, gave us a tour on the way to our room. The resort is absolutely beautiful and very clean. Our room was a swim up club suite # 5104, very close to the VIP Club lounge, the beach and the Sea Side Restaurant. The rooms are very large with a powder room, dining area, den and separate bed room and bath. There are two sliding doors to the patio, one from the den and one from the bedroom. The patio is very large with a love seat, bistro table with two chairs, a Jacuzzi tub, a Bali bed and a rack to dry towels and bathing suits. There is a little closet to put room service dishes in so that they aren't left outside the door. A door opens to the outside so they do not have to disturb you to retrieve the dishes. The bar is stocked with a bottle of pink champagne, vodka, rum and scotch. There are chips, peanuts and some candy bars, soft drinks, beer and water in the fridge. It is replenished daily. Our luggage did not arrive right away, but we wanted to rest a while anyway before we got in the pool. As soon as it arrived we went swimming. I highly recommend the swim up rooms, there are steps into the pool right outside your door..If you stay in another type room, you have to carry your stuff from your room and try to find a chair or Bali bed, much easier to just walk out your door. But,it was not crowded when we were there...so there were plenty of chairs and beds to choose from. We went to the Sea Side restaurant for breakfast every morning. They had a huge buffet with pastries, cereal, bacon, eggs, waffles, pancakes etc. and there is also an omelette station with made to order omelets. All the mimosas you can drink, coffee. The service is excellent, always filling our coffee and offering more mimosas. We went to the beach in the mornings, pool in the afternoons. There are always stacks of clean towels in the VIP Club lounge and also at the beach. The beach service was good, always asking if you want a drink. But our pool waiter was THE BEST!! His name was Juan Bernaldo and he was the sweetest man!! He would greet us everyday...always remembered our names and would sit and talk to us for a while every day. He takes an English class several days a week so that he can better serve his customers. The bartenders were great also. The drinks flow all day....but we paced ourselves...we wanted to feel good and remember our trip! Our Butler, Rony, was very helpful as well. He brought us sparkling Rose' one night and filled our Jacuzzi with a bubble bath, another night he brought a flower arrangement and champagne. My husband has a bad knee and can't walk long distances. Rony would pick us up in a golf cart and take us to the main lobby area for dinner each night. The food is good, but not great, but we did not go hungry at all. The steakhouse, The Italian restaurant and the Sports bar were good, the main buffet was just OK to me....my husband enjoyed it more than I did. My favorite was the Japanese restaurant, we went with new friends we met from the Boston area. We did not go to the French restaurant. Room service was always good and it arrived within 30 minutes each time we ordered. We got burgers, pizza, wings, onion rings, cheese sticks etc. The VIP Club lounge always has food out during the day and they also have menu you can order from. There is a cooler in the lounge with bottled water, beer, and soft drinks that you can stock up on for your room. We grabbed water just about every time we went in there. The maid service was very good, they came around 10:30 everyday. I recommend bringing a stack of ones and fives for tips. These folks work very hard to please the guest and deserve to be tipped. We tipped the maids, butler, waiters and bartenders. Each night there was entertainment in the theater. They do a good job with that...but we did not go every night. They had the foam party in the main pool a couple of times, but we did not go. I could see foam flying around in the air. One day they had a cookout by the pool with hot dogs, burgers, etc.My husband enjoyed that. One night they had a huge buffet of Dominican dishes in the courtyard. We had just eaten at the Italian restaurant so we did not have the buffet. Every night they had live music and dancing in the courtyard. There was always something going on somewhere. The beach had seaweed during our entire stay... but we heard that the water was completely clear a few days before...so I think it was rare and possibly from the recent hurricanes. It did not affect our trip. There was nothing the resort could do about it...not their fault. We prefer to swim in the pool anyway. We saw some trees down on the way to the resort...but no damage at all at the Majestic Mirage from the recent hurricanes. I did a lot of research before we decided to choose this resort....I'm glad we chose the Majestic Mirage. I read both positive and negative reviews. Some complained about the musty smell and humidity in the room, I brought air fresheners to hang on the air conditioning vents and damp rid to help with humidity. Some complained about the mosquitoes....the mosquitoes in our back yard at home in GA are much worse. I brought bug spray but we didn't even take it out of the suitcase. I think some people just like to complain. We had a GREAT time.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana

Stayed at Majestic Colonial last year and had better time and rooms. We asked for 1st floor and ocean view or pool side. We got 2nd floor over looking the laundry room. We ask our butler for a pool side by the swim up bar but never got it. They was only half full by looking. Power went out 4 or 5 times when using hair dryer. Had to hit breaker to turn it back on. The beach had sea weed 3 foot high. The clean up crew just couldn"t keep up with it. Lack of communications in checking out. They didn't tell us exactly where to go. On the good point the room was nice. Probably won't be going back to that place.

Great week in Punta Cana

The Majestic Mirage is a beautiful place to stay. Francisco the bar waiter made sure our drinks were full every day and Joanquin in the pool bar was fantastic. The entertainment team, especial Sandy, all did a great job, even remembering our names the whole week. The food and drinks were excellent! We will be back soon. Thanks for a great week.:)
