A relaxing week to recharge!
My family and I visited this resort in February 2026. When booking this resort, remember there is a club side (+18) and a family side. The resort has two standards. We enjoyed this resort. The food was excellent. All restaurants including the buffet were all worth a visit. The beach was wonderful. Lots of lounge chairs and Bali beds and no real need to run out at 6 am to lay out your towels. The pools were great. A little cool, but by the afternoon, the sun heated them up enough for a dip. A negative about the pools, was the infinity pool. Because it is attached to the sky lounge, if there is a wedding, it does close early. Lots of weddings while we were there. Closed most mid-afternoons. On the family side, there is no butler service option. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bar fridge and snacks were restocked every day. Water, pop, beer, rum and tequila. Snacks - chips and chocolate bar. Coffee was provided in the room, but we did not like it so needed to go up to the piano bar in the main building for a great cup of coffee. Overall, we would return as it is a nice resort for a week away to unwind and recharge.

Paid for swim up garden view got no swim up dirt view
As a loyal delta sky miles member and reserve card holder, I purchased this trip through delta vacations as a package. I paid for a swim up with a garden view and got a tub of water with no swim up, a lay out bed that smelled disgusting and a view of dirt! Delta called hotel manager, Sasa and he said rooms were based on “availability” and there were none available. He did not offer to move us, compensate us or comp anything. When you pay for a pool swim up room, meaning swim up from the main pool, you should not be told room types are based on “availability.!” I have a milestone birthday next year and I considered returning with a big group but Majestic properties have lost my business and I will tell everyone I know. Also, toilet ran constantly and sofas in game room sports bar are so nasty, I would not put them in my son’s frat house ! I would love to add pictures to show what I have described.

Awful Experience and Extremely Expensive
I do not recommend Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres due to what we experienced as misleading practices and unacceptable service. We fully paid for Family Section rooms six months in advance. Upon arrival, we were informed that the rooms we had reserved and prepaid were unavailable. We were told that our only options were to either pay an additional fee to upgrade or remain without accommodation. As we were traveling with a minor child, this situation placed us under immediate pressure. We were offered rooms in the Adults Section of the resort and were told that, since we had a child, we would still be allowed to use the facilities, with the only restriction being that our child could not approach alcoholic beverage areas. Based on this representation, we agreed to the upgrade. However, the following morning it became clear that this information was inaccurate. We were repeatedly asked to leave pools and beach areas because we were in the Adults Section with a minor. We were effectively restricted from using the facilities for which we had paid an additional 2000$. This created ongoing embarrassment and distress throughout our stay. When we requested either a refund of the upgrade fee or relocation to the originally booked Family Section rooms, both requests were denied. We were left with no resolution. Additionally, the overall conditions at the resort were unacceptable: • Towels were consistently unavailable, even at midday. • The property appeared poorly maintained and unclean. • Food was handled without gloves, with visible flies present. • Tables were not properly cleaned between guests; surfaces were not wiped and napkins were not replaced. • Utensils that fell on the floor were picked up and placed back on tables. • Staff behavior was unprofessional and concerning. The rooms were not properly treated or maintained. There were ants everywhere — our clothes constantly had ants on them, and if we left even a small piece of any snack, the room would immediately turn into an anthill. The rooms were always damp and humid, and even the bed sheets felt wet. The overall conditions were unacceptable, especially considering how expensive the stay was. The combination of misrepresentation at check-in, pressure to pay for an upgrade, restricted access to facilities despite payment, and serious hygiene concerns makes this an experience we cannot recommend to other families. Travelers booking the Family Section should be aware that confirmed reservations may not be honored upon arrival.
