Complete Dump, Worst Ever
This place is a complete dump. We were scheduled to be in a garden room. The garden room was located across the street from the main motel. Yes, motel. This is not a hotel or a resort. The motel has a metal gate to enter so when you cross the street to go to the beach you have to get security to open the gate.
The décor is old. There are a total of 50 rooms. 25 on one side of the street and 25 on the other side. No rooms are ocean front. No rooms face the ocean. We upgraded and paid to be on the other side of the street, closer to the ocean. However, the area inside the gate was muddy and messy. The rooms were like early 80s décor. The motel is two story very old looking. We decided to leave.
I usually do not leave bad reviews but this place was awful. So bad that I left and booked a room at an actual resort for my week stay. So bad, I was willing to take the entire hotel stay loss, which I did. I was not refunded by the motel and was told no to any refund. I was not refunded by Cheap Caribbean as to date. The pictures make this place look manageable or OK, but that is misleading. Don't make the mistake I did, which is thinking the price is really good. There is a reason it is cheaper than every other place. Spend a little more to make sure you have a wonderful trip. Don't stay here.
Everything was as expected and more , Go down to the coffee shop & holla at “G” for all your needs he’s so helpful & trustworthy. I barely was at the resort but everyone was nice & welcoming . I loved the beach & the food & ppl next door at Taboo i will be back soon
Solid 3.5 star hotel...read a few reviews that had me nervous, but I really enjoyed this hotel, Yes, it may be a little older, but besides the fancy lobbies at some big resorts ( I stayed at the RIU Montego Bay last time) it was really the same furnitures in the room, bathroom was a bit more updated at the RIU, but that was it. We stayed on the beach side and view from my balcony was beautiful! Everyone was friendly and helpful, the happy hour at the bar was amazing, took a trip over to the sister resort, LOVED IT as well, jumped off the cliffs! We will be back...I loved this little hotel..bottom line it has everything you need in the room, and a few things you want...Bring a beach towel or buy one on the beach, bring your own soap etc ( I always do anyways) and Enjoy..its Jamaica mon
We had a great time in Negril and recommend Legends Beach Resort to anyone seeking an adventure. I will say though, Negril was not what we expected at all. We expected a laid back chill time, but it is actually very fast paced. Initially we were shocked and a little disappointed but with a day or so to adjust our expectations, we decided to go with the flow. This is my one BIG piece of advice for anyone looking for a vacation in Negril with Legends.
We found that Legends throws you head first into Jamaica with little to shelter you like the big resorts do, can you say "culture shock?" If you are looking for something laid back and touristy go to Sandals or the more secluded Samsara Resort. These smaller resorts give you a better idea of what Jamaica is all about and looking back I'm glad our first experience was more authentic.
Our room at first glance wasn't much to write home about, two beds, a toilet and shower (worked most of the time) a desk and chair and a night stand. Simple with little flair. We didn't plan to hang out in the room very much though anyway. The staff was great and we always had fresh towels and clean sheets to come home to! The staff were very responsive and always had a smile on their faces.
The food in Negril was great, we had issues at the resort finding vegan and vegetarian options but with a little poking around and talking with locals we found some really great places along the main road and beach to eat. If you are staying at Legends I highly recommend the Cafe Goa down the street, it is run by locals and has tons of options for both veggie and meat folks. We also found a little place right on the beach called RastaAde Refreshments, try the veggie platter and the rasta lemonade! We found that it's a lot cheaper to eat local as well, so get out there!
On our last day we took a catamaran boat ride over to Rick's Cafe, we should have just stayed on the boat, drank Red Stripe and enjoyed the sunset, because Rick's is absolutely NOT our style. It was so crowded you could barely walk around, no seating to be found AND the food was terrible and seriously overpriced. All we heard the whole time we were in Jamaica was "You HAVE to go to Rick's Cafe!" So needless to say we were very disappointed. If you want to overpay for bad food and stand in theme park ride-style lines for absolutely everything, Rick's is your spot!
Once we were back on the boat we had a great time though, the water and sunset were amazingly beautiful and we saw a couple wild dolphins pop up out of the water! We pulled back into shore met with a huge beach bonfire.
This was our first trip internationally so it was a huge learning experience and the culture shock was intense. Having said that, I would definitely recommend Negril, Legends, and Cheap Caribbean to anyone looking for an adventure away from the highly Americanized touristy resorts. We will be booking again!

eighhmy
Our room had a refrigerator and a coffee pot. No microwave.
fabdealfinder
Frig and coffee pot yes but beleave me your only going to sleep in your room. Your going to be enjoying the beach all day long.
Mastero
Very pleasant accommodations with large, well-appointed rooms. Standard gardenside rooms with air conditioning, one or two beds, private bathroom, ceiling fans, and verandahs overlooking tropical gardens.
KellyCC
It has none of these... It's more of a budget stay... We took a foldable cooler and got ice each morning... We also took a blender and made some of our own mixed drinks...
SteveDub
No, no, and no.. If its not all in clussive the plates are $18
Bethr
The room doesn't have any of these amneties.
kaysee
None of the above.
PTOhio
No, the room does not have any of those items, just cable tv.
IrieNegril
No, no and no. It is a cheap, old room. It smells and will disappoint. Stay somewhere else that you will enjoy.

Drinks and Food5 answers
Please tell me the USD cost of food and drinks?
8 years, 102 months ago
Kay
CheapCaribbean is not provided with a menu from the resort or their cost. Prices are subject to change due to travel times and it is solely at the descretion of the resort.
DanielleCC
Dominos, Burger King, starbucks and McD charge standard prices. Food at resorts like the Wyndham is expensive - The buffet starts from $22-30 pp, wraps at $15. Outside restaurants (ex: Lotus Thai) has noodles starting at $25, small roadside restaurants have pizza starting from $18. So, the best thing to do is go to the afore mentioned standard prices and dine in other places occasionally.
BossLadyB
Drinks and food are also included all you can eat and drink
Mastero
Barbados is an expensive caribean island. 1 USD is 2 Barbados dollars. drinks are about the same or slightly more expensive. cost of food stuff if purchasing from super market is also slightly more expensive. Depending on where you eat, food can be about the same price or markedly higher in price. Fish, fresh out of the ocean is cheap for instance, I purchased fresh fish from Ouistin, barbados for 27 USD and i can tell you that the price was remarkably very cheap and i believe it could be up to 100 USD or more if bought in USA.
chirit
Do not stay here. The restaurant looks like its on a rotted deck. This place is a dump. Stay somewhere where you can enjoy the food and drinks.

I would like to know the cost of the wireless per week or per stay??
8 years, 101 months ago

Internet at Dover Beach is free but you will need to go to the reception area for internet access. I had my lap top with me and magick jack and had no problem connecting to internet and making calls at the hotel reception area
chirit
$60.00 per week outstanding Internet service
Mastero
They did have free Wi-Fi in the lobby, but i'm not sure how much it was to use in your rooms.
Beachy1217
They charge wireless for $5 per hour.
NewYorkers
Free Wi-Fi at Legends' beachfront restaurant and bar area, and Free Wi-Fi at Samsara’s Ciao Jamaica lounge area. They have high speed DSL computer terminals for guests at both Samsara & Legends that use personal login codes which can be purchased at the front desk for 25 cents per minute. Your code can be re-used on different occasions until the time is finished. The codes can also be used at either Samsara or Legends! Codes are sold for 15, 30 and 60 minute durations.
KellyCC
Intenet is free if your in the Bar/resturant, I do not know what the charge is if you want in your room.
divebaby
They charge per minute.'
Bethr
Do not even waste your money. You get a code for wireless but it would not work. It was a dump. Spend your money at a place you will enjoy and have wireless that works.

It's not in Montego Bay it's in negril... There is no number address its just Legends on Norman Manley road in Negril Jamaica ...

Yes, make sure you find out. The resort is split between a street. It has 50 rooms, 25 on one side of the road and 25 on the other. No rooms are ocean front. It is a dump. Spend a little more money for more quality. This is your vacation, do not make the same mistake I did. I left after check-in and found another place for my week stay.

For further information regarding the resort, we do suggest contacting the resort directly. The contact link directly to the resort's website is https://www.negrilhotels.com/contactus.php.
MariaCC
Yes, there's one down the beach.
Beacon
There is Scuba at RIU.
Legends is a low end, old motel. It had 50 rooms, with 25 located across the street. The décor is early 80s and a complete dump. The pictures do not depict this quality of this place. So bad, I left and lost the money. I was fine losing the money for a week stay as long as my vacation was not ruined. Do not make the same mistake I made. Spend a little more and get a lot more for your vacation.

Is there an additional cost for children?2 answers
Is there an additional cost for children or is there a place to add them? I went all the way through it and didn't see it. I know there is an additional cost for the plane ticket, but what about the hotel? Thanks

Please call the CheapCaribbean.com Sales Department at 800 915 2322 for the most up to date information on pricing for children and adults.
BethCC
You do not want to stay here. Price is cheap for a reason. It is cheap. It is old and is a motel. Spend a little more so you and your children have a good vacation. I just returned. After check-in I left. I found a new place. It saved my trip from being ruined but I lost the money from this place. Don't make the same mistake.

Is there a shuttle available to and from the airport to this resort?4 answers

Yes there is! To add it to your trip, please call us at 1.800.915.2322 to speak to any of our knowledgeable Beach Experts.
SamCC
yes but check around, I found a shuttle cheaper on the internet.
Beacon
We used Amstar by booking it through Cheapcarribean. They were professional, friendly and make the drive to and from the airport a mini tour/enjoyable experience.
IrieNegril
No there is not.
However, you do not want to stay here. It is a cheaper price but that is because it is a dump. I checked-in, saw the place and left. I found another place that was a resort. This is a cheap motel with 80s décor, a muddy walkway and drive entrance. There are 50 rooms total (25 across the street) and none are ocean front. The pool is a joke. I lost the money but was glad I left and saved my trip, I would have been miserable. Spend a little more for peace of mind and comfort. Legends makes a Motel 6 look like a 5 Star resort. Honestly.

Price based on single occupancy2 answers
Hello, I noticed many of the offers are based on double occupancy can you tell me the single occupancy price for this great deal.
3 years, 41 months ago
Paula P
Pricing is fluctuates depending on flights, dates of travel, dates of booking, number of nights, etc. For details on pricing, please call in to 800-915-2322 and select the prompt for existing reservations to speak to the next available agent.
JeannieCC
I just returned from this trip. The single occupancy is more but I cannot stress enough that you do not want to stay here. I left right after I checked in. The place looks descent in the pictures but it is far worse. Spend a little more and stay at RIU or another resort. This is a motel...not a hotel or resort.
