Awesome Resort!!

I cannot wait to go on another Iberostar vacation. I had a great time. The only thing I would do different is book the restaurants ASAP or even before we get to the resort. There were so many activities- we barely scratched the surface. Also, I wish the massages and spa experience were not as expensive. I would have loved to try out the massage. Lastly, our room's AC was not working all that well towards the end of the trip-we should have said something. But, it was towards the end of the trip so we didn't even bother.

Vacation Gem of a Destination

Over thirty family members gathered at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, in Riviera Maya, Cancun this August. The Paraiso Lindo is beautiful, with fun and interesting architecture. There is more than one pool, but one of them is huge, and has a swim up bar where musical entertainment is staged above. When you’re at either pool bar, try a mudslide with rum drink. The entertainment at Paraiso Lindo was top-notch for a resort of this type and size. We enjoyed all of it, whether at the pool or on the stage. If you like Karaoke, look for Patrick at the bar with the big fish tank, he’s a suave MC and good guy over all. The Paraiso also has a wave pool and a lazy river. The one downer was the beach, as it was filled with old dead coral, and hard for me to navigate. The pools easily made up for it for me, which is not typical, as I grew up on a beach. The pools were really cool! The food was good everywhere we ate. We loved the Mexican Buffet for lunch, and the main buffet never failed to delight our appetites (but we really loved the breakfast)! Luis is another star to be acknowledged, as he helped a few times as both waiter and conversant. Also loved the Steak House, El Rancho, seated in Paraiso Maya (we did that twice). You will be amazed at how stunning the Paraiso Maya is. As you can tell, there is much more to the place than just the Lindo resort. The Lindo exists on a campus setting with other Paraiso resorts that you can explore. Tacos and Crepes are not to be missed at the Market (that's a clue). If you are a sci-fi fan, definitely check out the disco, we had a blast there. The gym is downright awesome. The staff there are genuine and helpful. At the shooting range, Manolo proved to be worth getting to know. He made our day, as he was pretty entertaining. Our concierges, especially Estephany and Giovanni, were super helpful, and always friendly. Overall, this was a 9 out of 10 for me, and for most of the family. If the beach were friendlier, it would be a 10. Let me say that this is the first vacation resort I would actually revisit, in spite of my rule of no repeat. Hope this helps. Be good to yourselves.

Everything was pretty great except the dining

My boyfriend and I came to this resort for 4 nights. And we loved almost everything about it except the food. The room was very clean, cleaned daily so that it was spotless, only thing was we wished it would get a little cooler but the AC could only be turned so low. The pools were great, there were many different options for pools and they were for the most part pretty clean. The lazy river was also very nice too, and it’s just a very short path walk to the beach which was convenient with many lounge chairs to choose from. The ocean had lots of seaweed, which was annoying. There are many activities, one we chose to do was archery. It wasn’t portrayed the same that it actually is in the photo they advertise for the activity, but it was fun nonetheless. Last thing I have to say is the dining options. Weren’t so good. We come from NYC where delicious foods are an arms reach away, but this place wasn’t it. Some things were just inedible. The only decent restaurant that we felt we could slightly enjoy was the gourmet restaurant called El Museo. All in all I would recommend this resort to visit. It was great, but they could use a few improvements.

Worst Vacation of my life!

Hi guys! Let me start off by saying that last year my girlfriend and I visited Iberostar in Cancun, and that vacation was AMAZING! The staff, service, cleanliness, food, music, drinks, and entertainment was all incredible! Therefore, we decided to continue vacationing in Iberostar resorts. This year we went ahead and booked a vacation in Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in Riviera Maya: about 30-40minutes away from the Iberostar that we were in last year. Our experience was terrible! We will NEVER go back to Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in Riviera Maya. The staff was rude, I’m assuming it was an understaff issue, the cleanliness was poor (hotel, pools), the food was poor (stomach aches), and again the staff was rude and clueless on providing directions! This whole vacation was a disaster! We arrived to Iberostar Paraiso Lindo on a Sunday morning, 11:00am to be exact. The guy that dropped us off was asking me for a tip as he was bringing out my luggage out of the trunk. Now, I had plenty of single US dollars because I love to tip. I understand that through tips is how staff make a huge part of their living. However, please do not ask me to tip you, I will tip you as soon as you give me my luggage. Next, we begin to push our luggage towards the guy in the lobby whom seemed very frustrated and extremely busy. I tell him that we have just arrived and need to check in. He proceeds to state "okay", he takes my laguage and begins to talk with another one of his coworkers. Now, I speak, read, and write Spanish very well but you would not know that by looking at me. So, I understand everything that the staff is saying! I proceed to ask him where is the check in area. If you have never been to this resort before it takes a day or two to begin adjusting to where everything is. Therefore, we had no idea where to go. He goes on to say, "go that way to check in" as he points to some doors. In my head I’m thinking wow this guy needs more help in the front. Not a very good impression but that is okay. My girlfriend and I continue to go through two doors into the check in lobby. We waited about 20min in line to be able to speak to a representative in the check in desks! It was still early in the morning so the representative goes on to state that check in time is not until 3:00pm. I go on to tell her that it is okay. We asked where is the nearest buffet because at this point we are hungry. She hands me a map and states that everything in the resort is in the map. So basically, figure it out yourself! We walk out the lobby with our laguage, and try to find our way to the buffet. We ask a staff member how to get to the buffet and he states, "go straight." We keep walking straight and see nothing until we asked another staff member and he could provide better directions. We get to the buffet that is located all the way in the end by the last pool. It was terrible! The pasta tasted nasty! Very little options to choose from, and it was hot in there! The place looked dirty. We decide to leave this buffet and walk over to the next one which is right across from the pool. We get there and go about 10minutes without anybody offering us a drink. This buffet did have more options compared to the previous one but nobody came to our table the entire time that we were there to check on us or give us any drinks or napkins! Terrible service! Trust me guys at the Iberostar in Cancun you will never run into any of these issues. Anyways, we finish and leave this buffet. It is almost 3:00pm so we head back into the check in lobby. Again, huge line! When we finally get to speak to a representative they state that our room is not ready! It was already five minutes past 3:00pm. So, we wait another 10-15minutes. Again, the room still is not ready so we wait another 10-15minutes! I start getting frustrated because at this point we just wanted to get into our bed and relax for a bit we were very stressed. When our room is finally ready the guy hand me a card with a room number and key card. He states, "this is your room." In my head I am thinking like what do I do now go and look for the hotel myself! The representative starts talking with other customers so I interrupt and say excuse me which way do I go! He tells me to go back out to the front lobby. I get to the front lobby the guy is still very busy! He tells me a little golf cart will take me but he will have to send my luggage later in another cart! I tell him no because we need the stuff in the luggage to get comfortable in our hotel room. He promises he will send it in the next golf cart that rolls around. So, we go to our hotel, the bed sheets are dirty!!!! The room is hot!! The A/C was off!! The weather was 88F and humid outside! It is common sense to leave the A/C on! We decide to rest a bit and head out to the pool. The pool had dead flies floating around! Disgusting! We had a reservation for the steakhouse that night. Again, the servers provide horrible service. They gave us our food and first drink and did not come back to our table until I tried various times to get their attention! My steak was over cooked! I should’ve taken pictures! Dry and nasty! On the other hand, the NY strip my girlfriend received was perfect! lol Inconsistent! Something that was very disappointing to me was that before we went on this vacation I bought my gf an engagement ring. I was going to propose during our vacation! However, there was always something bad happening and it was never the right moment! I truly do wish I would have proposed last year at the other Iberostar. That hotel on the other hand provides you with the best serve of your life! So, no, I did not propose to my girlfriend! Very disappointing but at that point I rather wait and set up something unforgettable here back at home and propose then. This disappointment continues to occur over the next couple of days! The food choices at the buffets are not the best. The reservation we made for the restaurants sucked! We were at one restaurant one night and literary were sitting there almost an hour with no food. We finally complained and our food came 2minutes after that. A staff member asked me to fill out a survey on his tablet after our meal so I definitely went ahead and filled it out. Very poor service! Food was terrible! The guys that drive the little golf carts and that are there to get you from one place to another did not want to give us a ride one time! We spoke English to them and asked for a ride. He went on to say, "get in" we got in and then he began speaking Spanish with his coworker and telling him that if he wanted to take us instead. The guy replied and said, "no I already did my 3hrs of driving the cart." The driver goes on to asking another staff member that was passing by if he wanted to take us. I was so close to telling him something but kept my mouth shut. It was very clear he did not want to take us and when he did he seemed to have an attitude. These people are not friendly at all and very short worded when you ask them for directions!! Expect to be lost at the resort and figuring it all out on your own because there are few signs!! Luckily, we booked tours to Isla Mujeres, and Xplor prior to going on the vacation which meant two fun and amazing days away from this horrible resort! Please save your money guys and do not go here! I DO NOT recommend and will never go back here ever again. Also, expect to pay a fee at the time of leaving the resort it wasn’t much but I was not aware that now you must pay 20 pesos per night at the time of check out. SAVE YOUR MONEY GUYS! This place is NOT worth it!!!

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive escape-haven in the gorgeous Riviera Maya.

The beachy shores are very wide and deep with soft white sands & bright blue water.

Chillaxing at the five sunshiny pools with a lazy river and wave pool.

You can access facilities at Paraiso Del Mar and Paraiso Beach, located on the same property.

What We'd Change

The wave pool doesn't run continuously, so if you want to guarantee yourself a spot, get there in the morning. The truth is, when something is this awesome, it draws a crowd.

Why You Should Go

It's a zippy 30 minutes from the airport. Cocktails with beach views are calling your name.

A small train runs all over the resort, taking you to restaurants, lobby, rooms, spa and more.

Don't miss the endless activities - water sports, tennis, golf, beach volleyball & more. Game on.

Clubs for kids and teens keep the kiddos entertained. You can book much-needed spa time.
