  I brought my entire family, including five grandchildren, to Iberostar Paraiso Lindo expecting a comfortable, family-friendly all-inclusive, but the room conditions were unacceptable. The rooms were freezing to the point that I slept in a winter jacket and wool hat, yet the air conditioning failed to remove humidity—after three days my bathing suit was still wet and even papers left on the dresser became damp. For a resort of this caliber and price, basic climate control and guest comfort should not be an issue, and this experience was extremely disappointing. The Iberostar “credits” program is a racket and an insulting, underhanded promotion. I was supposedly “given” $600 in credits, yet it took two follow-ups and more than 24 hours just to have them applied to my account. When they finally appeared, they were broken into 24 separate $25 vouchers, a restriction that was never clearly explained. Every time I attempted to use one, I was told a different set of rules. In reality, the credits are nearly useless: you can only apply one voucher per purchase, and the purchase must exceed $100. That means you would need 24 separate extra charges of over $100 to use the full amount. Calling this a “benefit” is misleading at best—why advertise it so heavily when it’s designed to be unusable?

  ⭐️⭐️(and that’s generous)

  I genuinely do not understand how this hotel has so many high ratings. My only conclusion is that the hotel is compensating people for artificial reviews or many reviewers must be very inexperienced travelers. I’m writing this at 3:00am because the power is out due to “scheduled maintenance.” That means no AC, and my 2- and 4-year-old can’t sleep. Who on earth thinks it’s acceptable to do routine maintenance on the power system in the middle of the night ON A FRIDAY when every guest is in their room relying on air conditioning? The front desk’s only response has been a robotic “do not worry sir.” I am worried — my kids are awake, miserable, and this is an expensive family trip. The AC situation has been a mess all week. In 4 out of the 5 rooms our family has, the AC controls don’t work at all. The temperature is locked at 19°C, blasting nonstop. We’re sleeping in sweatpants and sweatshirts in a tropical destination. Maintenance came and did absolutely nothing. Food was another disappointment. We were charged an extra $30 per person — including children — just to eat at a walk-in restaurant at another hotel on the property. That was $300 extra for mediocre food. Some dishes were so overly buttery they were borderline inedible. It honestly felt like low-end cruise ship food, not what you expect at these prices. Service feels more like a sales funnel than hospitality. I asked the concierge about activities and immediately got a timeshare-style sales pitch in exchange for a “gift” or resort credit. Later, I asked the receptionist for directions and got the same pitch again. It’s exhausting and inappropriate. The pools? Not heated. It’s December. They’re too cold to use — the ocean is warmer. To top it off, there are small flies coming out of the sink in our room. We were offered fumigation and told it’s “natural.” Given everything else, trust is already gone, so we declined. Positives (because fairness matters): • The grounds are well kept • Rooms and common areas are very clean Bottom line: While there are a few positives, this hotel falls short on too many fronts — comfort, service, food, and basic decision-making. It’s overpriced for what you get, and the overall experience feels thoughtless. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to families.

  Excellent staff and a very well maintained and clean resort.

  Excellent resort, very clean and well manicured, great beach, and very friendly staff. Depending on the restaurant attended food was good to excellent. App needs some improvement when booking restaurants that require a reservation. Some staff who stood out for us on this trip include Vianey and Benito at the Sports Bar; Marina Najiro at the Italian restaurant; Romey Tamay at the noon buffet and Veronica Castro at the beach bar.

  Black Mold

  We booked four rooms for eight family members, and shortly after our stay began, several of us started to feel ill. Upon closer inspection, we discovered black mold covering the walls in all four rooms. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a resort that presents itself as a 5-star property. The presence of mold is a serious health and safety issue, and when we brought it to the attention of staff, there was little concern or urgency shown. Overall, this resort does not meet 5-star standards. Most of the staff were unfriendly, the rooms were not cleaned properly, and while the food was decent, it does not come close to compensating for the conditions we experienced.

  Lindo event

  Pablo was a fabulous bartender and the resort was so awesome. Animals to see everywhere. Our room was clean. We were in building 54 close to the pool and buffet too
