Indoor plumbing not a guarantee, but goat poo is

First the good: the beach is located on a gorgeous stretch of four beaches. Each beach has something for everyone: starting from the north, going south: 1.) rockiest beach of all, and one frequented by the locals. You have to climb past the coral reef to go swimming, but the fish here are pretty 2.) The prettiest one is the one in front of seagraoes- lush sand, no coral, and they seemed to have cleared the bottom of urchins as they were not visible until deep out. There are ample beach chairs here, shade is provided by some pretty trees and disintegrating palapas. 3.) A small desolate one on the south of the hotel property with absolutely no shade frequented by the goats, who seem to use this is a bathroom 4.)The naturist beach, by far the largest and longest one of all four. Great for looking for seashells as there are no children. There are several easy entry spots into water for bare feet, and lots of coral. There is some shade by palapas in even worse shape than on the resort beaches, and tons of bugs. Very few people, mainly couples from the resort. There was one couple (or elderly gentleman with what appeared an escort) who seemed to think naturist =swinger and we’re having a rather vile threesome in full view of the entire beach. This is unfortunate as it ruined an absolutely gorgeous beach for us. This only happened on one out of the three evenings we ventured here. POOL: it is the size of a an oversize hot tub, at a horrifically awkward location looking into the restaurant and completely unusable. There are snorkels and fins for use , as well as towels provided by resort. FOOD: the food was rather decent, however...... Breakfast is a sit down served meal, and after several mornings an actual menu appeared. We got the impression the staff did not want to show us a menu as they did not want to bother with its contents. They also had a $20 upcharge for lobster on the eggs Benedict menu item, which Ideclined, and two simple poached eggs appeared. No muffin, no ham or hollandaise sauce. The server insisted on this version of their menu item cost $20- came off as an disgraceful attempt at an up sell. The soups were excellent and one cannot go wrong with any of them. The lunch was at seagrapes on the beach, and basic grill fare+ fish items. Water shoes- you will need them as half the beaches have coral and there are large lurking sea urchins. Bug spray: we got eaten alive at the beach and in the room. Bring it. WATER: (indoor plumbing type) the island is experiencing a water shortage and we got notices about low water pressure. We woke up two mornings in a row with NO running water whatsoever, rendering our bathroom into an indoor porta potty. I cannot even describe what the lobby bathroom resembled. We spoke with the manager- the answer was to hand us two water bottles. For drinking. It would seem the hotel has the option of buying water cisterns but skimps on this as well. Also one cannot drink the tap water, and there are two water fountains on the entire resort. The one in the main lobby is not plugged in and thus pours warm water. I AM SHOCKED CHEAP CARIBBEAN WOULD SEND ITS CUSTOMERS TO THIS RESORT BASED ON THIS ALONE. Grounds: lovely scenery, with sociable bananaquit birds clamoring for sugar packets. A neighboring farmers goats tend to the grass, and appear to have taken on pointillism with all the walkways being their fecal canvass. Most of the grass is covered in goat manure, and I have not seen anyone cleaning. The beach chairs are never moved, repaired, and if a mattress blows away from one noone attempts to straighten it- it just sits on the goat poop covered grounds for eternity. ROOMS: by far the worst part of this resort. We have never in 15+ years of Caribbean travel asked to change a room, and this was a deserved first. The AC was blowing hot air. The shutters on a beachfront, all windows room do not close as half of the blinds are broken and the cranks have fallen off. We also could not even CLOSE the windows, with bugs flying in freely. The safe did not work. The furniture is haute 80s and gharish even for this era. This is sad, as this is a gorgeous beach with a resort that needs to be torn down and ran by different management.

Subpar Resort!

If you have mobility issues this resort is not for you. You must climb lots of stairs to get to the main areas, ie reception, main dining area and bar. We stayed in 111 Beach Club room. The dust on the ceiling fan was totally in acceptable. We turned on the ceiling fan that is located directly over the bed and quickly turned it off when we saw the amount of dirt that was piled high on the blades! Our friends were given room 102 in The Great House. Do not let them put you in there! Tons of mosquitoes, moths, rust in the sinks, broken tiles, door to entry way is broken—overall deplorable accommodation. And we all booked in August—5 months in advance! After seeing the unbelievable condition of their room, they complained and were told there were no other rooms available. So the next morning we went to reception and complained again. Finally they were moved to another beachfront room. It was a horrible start for a holiday vacation. The food was adequate, but nothing noteworthy. Overall, extremely poor management because of the condition of the property and rooms. We now know why the cost was lower than other resorts. You get what you pay for.

Disappointed

Description of the resort was not exactly truthful,, but may have been true in the past. Many of the staff were extremely nice though, and the food was too bad. Grounds need a lot of work.

Appauling

Every meal served here is a buffet all the food is reused in some format and recreated breakfast food was the worst meal canned baked beans were one of the items our room filled with some kind of biting creature five of us are now on Benadryl to correct all of these bites and bumps that we have the liquor at all bars were of names I've never heard of limited access to food and bars and any kind of other soda or pop was extremely hard to find I would never ever recommend this resort to another living human being the age of the resort it's apparent lack of upkeep and the advanced age of its guess make this not a good location for your vacation we spent a considerable of sum of money paying day fairs to go to other resorts we came back however for dinners always presented in yet another Buffet in the same room as breakfast some of the items even reappearing. I think there is a misrepresentation from this Resort to cheap Caribbean I like cheap Caribbean and they have done well to me in the past however this Resort cross off your list
