I’d Go Back!

Overall, the place was absolutely beautiful and the all-inclusive package was pretty decent. The beach was gorgeous, but a little on the small side. It wasn’t overly crowded while I was there, so the small beach didn’t really matter much. The food was excellent, but depending on the time of day you could find yourself running around trying to find the place that is serving food at that moment. The value overall was good, but definitely a little bit on the pricey side jyst because it’s Bermuda. Also, be sure to keep the people at the front desk honest. At the end of my trip they tried to charge me for several meals and drinks that should have been included in the all-inclusive package, but we’re not. After pointing out their mistakes they adjusted the bill and everything was fine. Just keep an eye on it. There spa was easily the most impressive spa I have ever been to. I got an 80 minute massage and it was the best of my life. The ambience was second to none. Highly recommended. I would definitely recommend this place, just advise you to keep them honest. They also tried to charge me extra for the trip back to the airport at the end, even though I paid for a shuttle ride as part of my package. Again, it was all worked out once I explained it to them and show them my voucher. Just things like that you need to be on top of, because they sort of aren’t.

Services were excellent. The rooms were clean. The nature spa is a must if you have time. They gave great massages inside a cave where the ambiance was perfect and relaxing

Great and reasonable preseason getaway

I was looking for a mini-vacation to take college-aged and high-school-aged children and my husband on a "snow-free" escape. Cheap Caribbean is my "go to" destination for these types of getaways and they delivered again. Grotto Bay was a perfect choice. We had never done All-Inclusive before, but I had heard food in Bermuda can be pricey and this was the way to go. The Grotto Bay staff was unfailingly pleasant and helpful. We had two adjoining rooms and were upgraded to Ocean View automatically upon arrival. The view was spectacular and the rooms were clean, comfortable and well-stocked with all amenities. Grotto Bay's grounds are beautiful and interesting. The on-site cave is spooky fun and Crystal Cave/Fantasy Cave for larger, impressive stalagtite/stalagmite viewing is just a short walk away. It was a little too chilly/windy this March to partake in the included non-motor water sports (kayaking, snorkeling, etc.), but we saw this as a good reason to return another time at a warmer part of the season in the future. The All-Inclusive package covered bus passes, which was ideal for getting around, as the 25 - 35 mph winds during our whole stay seemed a little risky for scootering. For a small island, Bermuda has a ton to see and do, especially if you are interested in the historical aspects and/or marine life. In the two full days we had, we were able to see a couple of the forts in detail and explore St. Georges a bit (went through Hamilton, but didn't explore). In a future visit, we'd like to take in the aquariums and nature preserves. The Grotto Bay Guest Services staff were very helpful, showing us the proper buses to take to get to our interests on easy-to-follow maps. If you go, be aware that there are some odd hours for the attractions (at least in mid-March). For example, the Clock Tower Mall (we ducked in during a passing rainstorm) apparently closes at 4 pm on a weekday, and Fort St. Catherine was only open Monday - Friday, 10 - 5. Back at Grotto Bay, we enjoyed the very British practice of having tea at around 4 o'clock upon our arrival. While we did not have a chance to have tea the rest of our stay (we were out and about, exploring different parts of the island), it was nice to have that available daily. As it was still off-season, only two main dining options were open, but they were both tasty, especially the desserts - make sure you save room! The more formal of the two (Hibiscus Room) was slightly disappointing, in that there is a specific dress code that we made sure to adhere to, but the night we dined there, it was full of young children and their families, most of whom ignored the dress code completely. The service was very slow that night, but we weren't in a hurry. Our final night, there was live music in the more casual, smaller dining room we had selected. This music was way too loud for the space and was small-kid-focused (Elmo/Sesame Street and the like). We had no idea this was scheduled, as we would have made other arrangements if we had known ahead of time (couldn't hear each other/couldn't hear our server/couldn't have a conversation); unfortunately, the entertainment lasted through our entire dinner. Other than this, we really enjoyed our stay at Grotto Bay and would definitely stay there again when we return to Bermuda.

Best first experience

This was my first time booking with cheapcaribbean and doing an all inclusive trip for my husband and I! We were celebrating some school/work accomplishments and wanted to go some place warmer than then negative degree winter we were having in Upstate New York without totally breaking our budget.. And this was the perfect place!! So much to do in the area and right at the resort. All the staff were wonderful and made it so easy to enjoy ourselves. We saved some serious money by doing all inclusive and I'd recommend this to anyone in the future! We will definitely be back !!
