Dec 08, 2025Great for toddlers, with waterpark and amusement park, nice rooms, but subpar food, dining options and entertainment.
It was great for our toddler grandchildren. The beach and water park were a lot of fun for them but we would have liked a toddler area near the main pool, as well. We used the family concierge and Andy and Juan were wonderful and very attentive. Our rooms were very nice - spacious and with comfortable beds. Although I'm not a foodie by any means, the food was a disappointment. The service was incredibly slow in the restaurants and most of the servers weren't friendly. The buffet food was barely edible. The food was better at the waterpark, beach and the awesome amusement park. The kids loved that, too! The woman who served us at the pool was amazing ... very attentive and friendly. We also liked the breakfast place at the pool and we ate there most days. I thought the music was subpar also. No singers, too loud and no typical island music - calypso, etc. – not even for one night. There was no sense of the island culture.

Great Family Stay at Paradisus Grand Cana
We had a wonderful time at Paradisus Grand Cana! We felt safe throughout our stay, and the kids had an absolute blast. The rooms were beautiful, and we especially loved the specialty dining options—teppanyaki was our favorite. The buffet had a good variety, though we wish there were more authentic food options, and at times the food could be a little cold. That said, the entertainment and kids’ activities made up for it. There was always something fun going on. A special shoutout to **Angel**, who provided us with the daily rundown and helped with our dinner reservations. He was great! He did try to get us to attend the Circle presentation—it didn’t work out this time, but we appreciated his help and will try to catch it next visit. Overall, a great stay for families, and we’d definitely return!

A MUST stay at this resort
if you are wondering if this is a good location, look no more. We found this location and all of the amenities to be very satisfactory. So much to do, so much to enjoy, and experience the culture. Ok to book excursions when you get to the hotel. If coming from the US, bring small bills, bug repellant and a wash cloth…… other than that - everything was provided for us.

Dec 06, 2025Stay away if you are not Melia circle or pay to get treated second class
The resort has its pros and cons but the cons outweigh the pros. They do not get the basics right. There are 2 classes of guests , circle members who are first class and all else who are second class. The second class are treated so bad that you have to literally ask for even towels, towels does not cover small big etc you have to specific about each kind you need. When things go wrong you will not be able to get an apology or a manager. Check in took 4 hours, 1 week before I informed that we would arrive early, but they didnt have room till 4.30 when check in is at 3. Even after room didnt have stocked mini bar or working tv. Food made me very sick gave diarrhea, could not eat for a day and half but was taken to a sketchy doctor who wanted 250$ to trat with insurance. Then resort wanted a liability waiver and never got to speak to manager, no follow up after 1 single message. Then if you are not circle everything is bad from service at the buffet or restaurants to mini bar has some cheap beer and water and servicing the room. They provide you water coffee etc by looking at your wrist band. Sometimes water takes 15 mins. 1 morning we were told to take the utensils from next table. Pros : 1. Kids club is amazing 2. Aqua park is nice and kids love it 3. Certain staff members emanual from kids club, Kersy from the bar , Leonela from guest services treat you well even without status 4. Entertainment for kids and adults Cons: 1. Bad service everywhere people just dont care 2. Treat you second class if you are not circle 3. Food gave diarrhea 4. No supplies what so ever I room 5. Limited mini bar items 2 cheap beers, water, chips , and soda 6. Can never get a manager or an apology Overall very very disappointing experience having paid for a swim up suite got treated like they were giving you services for free.
