    Fantastic

The resort stay itself was nice — easy to access and in a good, convenient location. The property was comfortable and overall enjoyable. However, food options were extremely limited, especially for families with kids. This was the first resort we’ve stayed at that had no kid-friendly food section at all, which made it difficult for parents to grab something quick and keep children happy. With even a small kids’ menu or simple food options, this resort would be much more family-friendly.

    Don’t recommend

Overall, my stay had several disappointments that affected the experience. Food & Dining The buffet food was underwhelming, with breakfast being the only consistently good meal. The specialty restaurants were decent, but the inability to make reservations made planning dinners frustrating. Room Conditions The room was extremely humid throughout my stay, and bedsheets sometimes feeling damp. While I understand the climate plays a role, it felt like more could be done to manage indoor humidity. Additionally, the fridge cycled loudly on and off all night, which repeatedly disrupted my sleep. Activities & Staff Experience Activities were inconsistent. I showed up for one scheduled activity only to find no staff present. Even more concerning, two employees misled me into attending what they described as a tour of the island, which turned out to be a vacation club sales pitch. This wasted both my time and the sales team’s. However, the lobby staff and the Caribbean restaurant staff were amazing. They made my stay the most enjoyable it could be. Overall, the resort has potential, but these issues made the stay less enjoyable than expected.

    Very disappointing

I had a very disappointing experience staying at Park Royal. The food was bland and lacked flavor. The only consistently safe and decent option was fruit. Lines for the all-inclusive restaurants were extremely long. For example, every night at the Italian restaurant there were at least twenty families ahead of us, regardless of what time we arrived, and reservations were not allowed. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and kept disconnecting. The beach is located right next to a port with at least five large cruise ships docked at all times. You are essentially swimming next to cruise traffic, which raises obvious concerns about water quality (fuel, waste, etc.). The room itself was nice—I stayed on the 9th floor with an ocean view—but it had a very strong mold smell. I understand the hotel was fully booked, but after reporting the issue twice, no one ever came to clean or check the AC unit to address the smell. Service was another major disappointment. Unless you are visibly tipping, service is minimal. Staff seemed to expect extra payment for nearly everything. Overall, this resort did not meet expectations and I would not recommend it.

Run away! Do not go there!!!

Horrible experience. Food is awful. Rotten sald, no avocados or guacamole, cold and smelly food, no fries or anything for the kids, room service options are awful, burgers from the all day beach leftovers and cold fries ( fries only room service), no other fruits that cantaloupe, watermelon, smelly papayas and pineapple every other day if you lucky. Please bring Imodium with you, you will need it. Management do not care, they don’t want or care about Americans or Canadians, they have plenty of Mexico customers. You will be hungry and sick. You will see empty displays in Italian restaurant at 8pm after waiting for 2 hours, Mexican restaurant discussing, Caribbean restaurant food is cold and not properly cooked, buffet is a joke! This hotel going through the merger process now, Middle East investors bought them. Please 🙏 don’t go there. Go somewhere else and enjoy. This hotel is the worse place I ever visited.

3rd stay at Grand Park Royal Cozumel

This was our 3rd time to this resort. We enjoy the location and the fact that its 150 pesos to take a taxi downtown to site see, shop, have a beer by the ocean or take the ferry across to Playa Del Carmen. The room we stayed in was basic and the bathroom sink was in the bedroom rather the bathroom was a little odd. We discovered the adults only pool and area (this was a bonus!) Quieter than the other pool and less hectic. The bars were busy but never had to wait too long for a drink. We never participated in any of the nightly shows, we were too tired. If you are like us where you like to watch TV at night, you'll can only get 1 chanel in English. We had a great time here until the day we checked out. The minute you no longer have the braclet on you can no longer get a drink or snack! I get that you shouldn't be able to continue to enjoy all the amenities, however our flight was delayed by 3 and a half hours and we couldn't get a drink or a snack. We were completely cut off.
