A great value for a fun, low-key spring break!

My 3 friends and I bought a package through Cheap Caribbean for 5 days in Cancun for our final college spring break! We enjoyed our stay so much and we were so glad we chose this resort because you didn't need to spend any money after getting here - it is truly all-inclusive! I'm just going to go into detail about some things we wish we knew in advance: -Security deposit: upon check in, we were surprised that we had to pay a $100 per person deposit in cash only. We had no warning, so only half of us had enough cash. The ATM costs about $27 for fees, so that was a big disappointment. ***At check out, we had to ask for our deposit back and I don't think they would have reminded us otherwise. Don't forget to request your money back! -Fees: don't lose anything! The resort won't cost you an extra dime (apart from deposit) unless you break the rules or lose your towels, key cards, or bracelets. They put bracelets on us upon check in (we think just to show that you are of age to drink) and you have to wear it the whole time, but they are very durable and waterproof. When you get a towel for the pool/beach, you turn in your towel card and must return your towel by the evening to get your card back. Big fees for losing anything so be careful! -Restaurants: All of the restaurants were fantastic, but you need reservations for dinners at all but the buffet. The buffet is delicious and filling as well! You'll want to get to the lobby bar at 9am to wait in line and make your reservations for as many nights as you can (we did 3). The only restaurant that will cost anything is the Steak house, and we're cheap so we didn't go there! We loved all 3 dinners, and you get so much food! Appetizer, soup, entree, desserts, unlimited wine or whatever drink you want... all inclusive! It was amazing and the service was always excellent. At the end of every meal our waiter would ask "Tequila?" -Drinks: we had a great time with the all inclusive drinks, but we do have a strong hunch that they use watered down liquors so that nobody's getting too wasted. Makes sense, but something to be aware of. Some people would claim that tipping would get you stronger alcohol, but it's not a perfect science! It was a great opportunity to try whatever drink you want to for no cost and drinking during the day wouldn't get you too out of sorts! There are no drinks that are extra money, no up-charge top shelf liquors, nothing like that. If you actually want to get a buzz, we recommend getting wine because that can't be watered down :) They have Cabernet, Chardonnay, and Sauv Blanc at all the bars. You have to beg or tip for shots haha. At the pool, the bars are fun, and there is a poolside service worker who will bring you drinks on the beach or by the pool! -Service: the customer service at this place is phenomenal. Everyone was so nice, hardworking, welcoming, and helpful. Waiters, cleaning staff, bartenders, front desk, they were all great and seem happy to help. You don't need to speak Spanish to get by, but trying out a little Spanish is nicer for the employees and they will help you out! You are not expected or required to tip for anything, but tips are graciously accepted of course. -Beach/pool: our only complaint is the difficulty of getting shade. The cabanas and umbrellas will be booked by someone's deserted towels early in the morning, so if you have pale friends, you need to work hard to stake out some territory. We would either come grab a cabana first thing in the AM or sit nearby and wait until someone left to swoop in. The pools were both comfortable, fun, and clean. The beach is beautiful with soft white sand and clear water. -Transportation: We booked a shared round trip airport shuttle through Cheap Caribbean for Amstar. The shuttle was easy enough to find; once you exit the airport after customs, you look for blue Hawaiian shirts that Amstar wears. It was almost comical how one worker would send us further down the road to the next, on and on until we were waiting in the right spot for our shuttle. They were all very helpful and we didn't feel unsafe or confused at all! Once at the resort, we had to meet with the Cheap Caribbean rep to schedule our shuttle back to the airport, which worked perfectly. You will want to tip your drivers. -Room: Based on other reviews and our experience, they will upgrade your hotel room every time for free. First they asked us if we wanted to upgrade for $70 per day, we said no, and they gave us a slightly lesser upgrade for free. Our room was beautiful, in a smaller building on the beach. Use the safe for valuable items for free. The mini bar in the room only contained waters, sodas, and beer, but that is all included. Cleaning service was excellent. Comfy beds, great shower, no complaints! -Worries about Mexico: We were worried about a couple things that you hear about all the time: Mexico being dangerous and the water being unsafe to drink. Because of these things and us being young women, we didn't leave the resort for anything. On the resort, there was not a glimpse of anything dangerous, and they have a water filtration system so that nothing will get you sick. So no worries about that! Overall, we had such a great experience with this trip. When talking with some other spring breakers we met, they were envious of the price we paid with Cheap Caribbean. I think we got a great deal and the value of getting there and not having to spend more was unbeatable! The resort is family friendly in that it is not a party scene, but there didn't seem to be much for kids to do unless you took excursions, which we didn't. There was fun music by the pool, many bars and restaurants to hang out in, and the overall experience was just perfect.

Great trip!

Just came back from this resort. We had such a great time. Everyone is so friendly the food was good. We only wish that there were more options for Mexican food everyday. Like tacos, burritos and home made chips.we loved our room with a swim up pool the entertainment staff was great. We played volley Ball and other games. We did yoga at the gym and had massages. Everything was wonderful. We will be back again.

Great price for a 5 day trip!

This hotel was AMAZING! Food was ok (no authentic Mexican food - more tailored to Americans), but the rooms, inclusive drinks, pools, bars and beach were to die for.!The staff was very friendly and helpful! I'd definitely recommend this to a friend!

Wonderful Place - Beautiful People

We absolutely loved our week at Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe. The service was second to none and the accommodations were very nice. the beach area is gorgeous and it was nice to have life guards there. The only reason the dining options was 4 and not 5 was you have to make reservations to get the best dining. We were able to snag a time at two of the three fine dining options but that was it unless we wanted to eat at 9PM. The taco bar was DELICIOUS! This is a definite do again for us! The photo is the view from our room! It was nice to have a balcony off the room as well.
