Decent Resort for the Money

This resort was ok in my book. I believe there were certain wait staff/bartenders that did an excellent job and those few went above and beyond our expectations. The rest of the staff we had a bit of a hard time with. There was a language barrier (the staff spoke Spanish and our group English). In the main buffet by the lobby it was hard to get drinks and some meals were finished before we were even approached. The Bohio Buffet had much better service as did the pool bar right outside of the Bohio restaurant. The first 4 days we were there the adult pool was unusable. The water was so low the filters were not able to work. I'm not sure if this was from the storm or the way this pool is. By the 5th day they had this pool cleaned and filled. Once that was done, this was the nicest of the pools they had! I'm so glad they fixed it, I only wish it could have been done earlier in our stay. I believe the entertainment committee could have been better. I kept reading all of these things they offered yet when we were wandering around the resort we were unable to find them. The POP could have done better at getting the crowds involved. My favorite thing we did there was the foam party in the pool. That was something I've never experienced. There was also one on the beach the next day but I missed that one. The disco was fun and the staff did a good job of getting people on the dance floor there. We were there just after hurricane Irma and I want to mention the resort did a great job of cleaning up. They had a tropical storm there with high winds yet when we arrived on the 7th it looked as though they simply had a storm. When we booked our stay we were not told there were going to be restaurants closed for remodeling so that was a bit of a disappointment. I believe they could have done better at communicating that and offering a discount or an opportunity to reschedule at no extra charge. Overall I thought the resort was nice but I feel there is definitely room for improvement. If you get a deal on this resort book it, you won't be disappointed but if you go here looking for a 4 or 5 star resort you may want to look elsewhere.

Our 1st time in Domincan Republic

I will never book with Cheapcaribbean again. Our biggest disappointment was with the airline booking which was with United Airlines. The service was not up to par and on our way back when we had a transfer to do along with picking up and dropping off our luggage and going through customs all within an hour and 15 minutes was not acceptable. I was literally running in my flip flops. We almost missed our flight and when we got home our luggage was left behind. We also had issues with our room with the hotel. They didn't have the room that we booked so we had to settle for something else. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I thought I was on vacation but instead I felt like I was working to try and have a good time at least.

Worse island vacation ever had

The Hotel staff workers were rude, unresponsive to anything reported to the to help, like our broken toilet which didn't flush all week in the loft bathroom at the palladium. Room 8212 palace . And the crack in the loft stair plexiglass which I reported on Monday am along with the broken toilet no one came to fix, reported twice to front desk . First time I called second time went to the lobby to report. Waited 2 hours no one showed up. Upon check out we were accused of breaking it and were detained at the hotel while the bus was waiting full of flight passengers who arrived late to the airport, only reason we made the flight was because it was delayed. They stated that we couldn't. Leave for the airport unless we paid although I had a picture of the crack there upon on arrival time stamped and dated, which they refused to look at. Asked for the manager who refused to look at it as well. We were bullied into paying or miss our flight wouldn't allow us to leave.
