Great Stay!
Everything was outstanding. Best food I’ve had so far out of any resorts I’ve stayed at. Nice beach area and great service staff. Very comparable to most other 5 star resorts. A bit far from the airport and some coral in various beach spots but overall, had an excellent stay. I’d rate them 5 stars all day long.
Our refrigerator was not working they never fixed it. The ice machine was not working informed them four days in a row and it NEVER did get fixed. We will probably not return to this part of the resort there are other resorts that are much nicer. The people are friendly the food was OK but never HOT. Every night was the same did not do the different country's. This was our 5th time there if we go again we would stay at the White sands of the resort.
Me and my husband spent one week at the Grand palladium Kantenah and it was amazing! The employees were always nice and friendly. We stayed in the romance suite which was right by the beach with an amazing view and a big room and bathroom. Also, the beach close to our room was the best compated to neighboring Palladium since Theresa’s no seaweed and even if some showed up in the morning the hotel staff cleaned everything, the water was beautiful and crystal clear. The food was not amazing both buffet and a la carte were lacking but they weren’t horrible ether. Overall a great vacation with a great value!

SamCC
It does cost more to upgrade, though it's not extreme. The sand is the softest sand I've ever felt. It felt more like a powder..
Nine5384
We stayed at Kantenah and the beach was very soft. We saw 3 weddings there in the 7 days we stayed. Some of the beaches at the surrounding resorts was choral and rock.
We went to a waterpark about 15 min. away that had dolphin swimming, scuba diving, lazy river, zip-lining, etc. It was fun and lasted all day.
We went to the Riviera every night for music and dancing.
We did pay around 80. a day to upgrade our kids from a regular suite to a Jr. suite so we could get a room with 3 beds. We stayed in the Mayan suites.

What is the difference between this and the other palladium resorts?5 answers
If you can stay at one and use all 4 palladium resorts, what makes this one different?
4 years, 49 months ago
victoria603
The Grand Palladium is a giant complex. Each section of the resort has a different name, with some having unique room categories from the rest. For example, the Kentenah and Colonial sides offer adults only room categories.
CCGreg
this side has better and more beach if thats important to you
TJRem
Don't know this was our first time
Arik
We went to several of the other resorts and the beaches at the Kentenah were better. The other two that we saw were rocky, where Kentenah had a beautiful beach. However, the entertainment was better at some of the other resorts. They have a train that picks you up and takes you to other resorts, it never took more than 15 min. to get anywhere.
HCable
They are all a bit different in decoration, layout and offerings. I'd suggest doing the research and then choosing the one that is right for you to room at. Once there you can access any area of the resort. We stuck with the Kantenah area as it had everything we needed right there and ventured to the other areas in the complex at night and for dinner.
DianaS77
Each one kind of has its own theme for the villas and lobby area. This one is the most "natural" or earthy. The other ones appear to have a more modern look but the staff say they update and change the themes fairly often.

The spa is not included in the all-inclusive and would be an extra charge. As this service is booked directly with the resort and the price is subject to change, we do not have their current rates on file.
SalCC
Yes and no, if you are in the gold suites they are all include, or you can buy packages if you do it that way you will save money.

does "all inclusive" mean there is an added and required price per person for meals4 answers
can the resort be shosen without an all inclusive meal package?
3 years, 37 months ago
maura
All inclusive means all meals and drinks included for purchased packages.. No gratitude required but accepted.
Franco15usa
All-inclusive means that all your food and beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are included in the price paid.
SalCC
There was not on our package.
Arik
All-inclusive means the set price of your vacation package does include your food and drinks (including alcoholic drinks). I highly doubt you'd able to go and simply pay a-la-carte. They just aren't set-up to do that. The all-inclusive concept keeps it much simpler for the restaurants and for the customers.

I thought we had booked an ocean view, but we ended up in a totally different spot. They do have them available, but they are much further away from the lobby, so it all depends on your priorities. We ended up right next to the flamingos, and a 2 min walk to the lobby, so it worked out well!

The pictures are what the resort sends to us they normally send us the same picture for all room categories.
bthornton
We stayed in a Mayan suite and I'm not sure how recent the update was, but the rooms were nice. It had an outdoor and indoor shower. The balcony had a hammock that we enjoyed. The room was nice, but the a/c is set on a motion detector so at night with no movement, the a/c would not run and it was very humid. We would wake up several times a night hot and have to get up so the a/c would kick on.

Lanyards & reservations3 answers
I know some all inclusives have things that can put on lanyards so the children/adults can keep better track of keys/cards/etc, and I just wondered if that is something we should bring. Also, someone mentioned we have to make reservations for dinners. Is that true or are we able to "take it day by day?" We want to enjoy our time not have to schedule everything. Thank you!
2 years, 35 months ago
Michigan
I don't think the resort provides anything like a lanyard to better organize keys and cards. Those items will usually just come in a little folder along with resort map, towel card, etc.
For dinner reservations, you will want to make those with Guest Services on arrival to the property. The policy on how many can be made and how far in advance will vary per property and occupancy/time of year.
CCGreg
We brought our own but rarely used them, my teen preferred his pocket and I used a small cross body purse most of the time so I had phone and cash with me too. As for dinner, there are only 2 restaurants requiring reservations. We played it by ear daily and never had an issue!
DianaS77
I didn't see anyone wearing a lanyard. But if the kids are prone to losing room keys, it could be smart. Everyone is given bracelets that give you access to meals and resort facilities.
We made reservations most days so there would be no wait. If you go to dinner early (read between 5:30 and 6:30) it didn't look like anyone was waiting to get in. The one night we didn't have reservations and showed up around 8 for dinner, we had to wait about 40 minutes. Two restaurants require reservations; Punta Emilia and the Tekken Yaki tables.

Resort Update
Palladium Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to upgrade its Riviera Maya Complex throughout 2017, including incorporating the current Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa into The Royal Suites Yucatan. This transformation will be completed in various phases starting on June 1, 2017. Construction will mostly take place within the current Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa and will have minimal impact. All guestrooms within the hotel, the rocky walkway along the water & the salt water pool area will be closed to all guests during the completion of the project. All other areas including the Riviera Lobby, Disco & Theatre, El Jardin Restaurant and the current The Royal Suites Lobby will be closed during certain dates listed below. During times of closure, the areas will not be accessible to guests and should therefore not impact the guest experience.
Below is a complete project timeline:
Disco & Theatre:
June 1-November 1, 2017: Construction will be in progress in the Disco and Theatre of the current Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa. During this time, alternate entertainment venues will be provided to guests. Once construction to the Disco and Theatre are complete, the Disco will convert to become one of four exclusive restaurants available to guests of The Royal Suites Yucatan and the Theatre will become the second exclusive restaurant providing guests with a Dinner and Show themed experience referred to as the Cabaret.
Riviera Lobby and Kabah Buffet:
June 1-September 15, 2017: Construction will be in progress at the current Riviera Lobby which will convert to the new The Royal Suites Lobby. Guests will not be affected by this construction since all guestrooms in Riviera will be closed. All hotel services will be available at the adjoining White Sand, Colonial and Kantenah Lobbies.
Construction will also be in progress at the Kabah Buffet. During this time, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available at La Laguna as well as the other restaurants within the Riviera Maya Complex.
The renovated Kabah Buffet will feature 2 separate sections (1 buffet exclusively available to guests of The Royal Suites and 1 for guests of Grand Palladium).
El Jardin Restaurant & the current The Royal Suites Lobby:
September 16-December 1, 2017: Construction will be in progress at El Jardin restaurant and the current lobby of The Royal Suites. The current lobby for The Royal Suites will convert into 2 separate a la carte restaurants. By this time, the new lobby for The Royal Suites will be open at its new location and the buffet will be available at Kabah.
Environmental Levy Fee
The Municipalidad of Solidaridad in the Rivera Maya is one of the most beautiful places in the Mexican Caribbean. Tourism has been instrumental in driving the economic and social development of the region. In an effort to continue to preserve, conserve and beautify the destination, the Municipality of Solidaridad has implemented a small environmental levy on visitors effective September 1, 2017. Hotels will collect 20 Mexican pesos per room per day on check out; the proceeds will be deposited in an environmental trust to fund local projects. The Municipalidad of Solidaridad thanks you for your understanding and support of this worthwhile endeavor. Thank you and enjoy your visit.
