Fun trip - grande bahamia principal

Cheap Caribbean did a great job of accommodating all of our add ons and room changes. The staff was very helpful! Our rooms were not as promised, two double beds in each. All four rooms had kings and were on different floors. It wasn't a problem for us because they were very big king beds. This was a girls trip also and we didn't mind. Had it been our husbands I don't think it would have went as well. All the staff was very friendly. The staff at the front desk was mixed. One member, Latoya, I believe was her name, had a hard time with eye contact because she was very busy rolling her eyes at any questions or help that we asked for. At the front desk is were you should be greeted exceptionally well. This was out first and consistent impression. When calling for ice, which was very inconvenient because there are no ice machines, it took usually two hours or you never received it. I never received anything I called for, i.e. Ice, extra blankets... I recommend bringing a big zip lock bag and asking at the bar. They were very helpful. I want to say my biggest complaint about a few (couple of female staff members) was the eye rolling. I can SEE you! Atleast do it when I'm not looking especially to other staff members! The pool was beautiful but get up early to get a chair. They had fun shows lots to choose from at the buffets. The reservation restaurants were harder to get into especially for our large group but were very delicious! I enjoyed our stay here, but a couple of staff changes and service accommodations would make it even better.

Great for couples and weddings

Beach is more like a lagoon aside, restaurants require reservation, misic played loud till late, service is good only if tipped. But the rooms are gorgeosly furnished with lots of extras, shows are variable: stage, pool, beach.

Great for couples and weddings Great for couples and weddings

It was amazing! My beau and I went during the first week of February 2018 as a double birthday gift to ourselves. The resort is EXACTLY as pictured. I was born and lived in Jamaica until I was 13 and did not know that a resort like this existed on the island. Gthe grounds were immaculate, oir junior suite had the best view (garden, pool and beach), we lucked out. The bed was comfy and the jacuzzi tub was heavenly. There were two buffet style restaurants and 3 other sit in and dine restaurants that required a reservation. The pool is as big as it looks in the pics and the white sand beach was like nothing I have ever seen before. The only hiccup was that wifi was inly free in the lobby of the hotel. However you can purchase 24 hrs of high speed wifi for $15 or $20 for two devices. Overall it was just a restful, no worries, fun filled trip. We will definitely vacation there again.

Good vacation

Pretty resort, the beach was a little disappointing but the pool was beautiful so we spent our time there. Dinner reservations were a joke, it doesn’t say any where that you have a limit on how many dinners you can attend nor that you needed to make reservations weeks in advance. Day 1 they told us there were no a la carte dinners available until after we left. Yes there was a buffet, but booking a vacation thinking you get to enjoy the restaurants as well, was disappointing. Then to be told we could only have 3 dinners was a joke. It says nothing about that while booking... Then, we were asked to take a tour of the luxury side so we did thinking it was just a tour, we spent 2 hours getting a sales pitch to buy a vacation package that we kindly declined. WiFi is only free in the lobby and hardly works... tipping is required for EVERYTHING. So bring extra cash!!! We had fun because we made it fun, I would return to Jamaica but maybe research the resort more. Pool is a definite but if you’re looking for a beach I would pass on this resort. The food we did eat was great, spa was awesome and so were the excursions. Just do your research! I would recommend this place to friends but not sure I’d return any time soon.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive beach bonanza for every member of your fam-bam.

The white, cabana-ish tents that hug the pool and provide shade while you chillax.

Being greeted by colorful, fresh bougainvillea on your massage table in the spa.

The two coolio, curvy pools that are a coconut's throw from the beach.

What We'd Change

The beach is a little pebbly, so make sure you bring your water shoes. The upside is that it makes for truly excellent snorkeling right off shore.

Why You Should Go

It's 75 minutes from Mobay airport. Don't fret. You'll be greeted with a welcome cocktail soon.

The beach is a bit pebbly, so bring your water shoes.

Before your flight home, hit Club Mobay at the airport for A/C, drinks and lots of spoiling.

Book your airport transfers with us before you arrive. You'll avoid a lot of headaches.
