Great vacation!!

My husband and I were looking for a place with white sand beach and clear water but also wanted something reasonably priced and all-inclusive. Galley Bay Resort was amazing! The resort itself was very nice. It is a smaller resort, not a mega resort, which is what we wanted. We wanted something more quiet and romantic and this was perfect! Most of the rooms are on the beach and the view is beautiful! The beach was white sand and the water was clear. The staff was very nice. There were options for excursions at an additional price. We did two of the excursions and they were great. The food was very good. Most of the meals they had a different menu each day. If you go here during the slower season (around June/July and possibly further) they may not have all the restaurants open all the time because of staffing. They let you know each day which restaurants are open and the times. Overall, my husband and I had an amazing time and we will definitely be back!

Best Beach, All Inclusive, Carribbean Vacation

Just wanted to give you the best, honest review of the Galley Bay Resort & SPA located in Antigua W.I. First, it is important to understand what our goals and expectations were before choosing this vacation. Basically, my wife and I were celebrating a milestone anniversary. We wanted an adult only resort, all-inclusive meal and drink plan, on a properly maintained beach, not overly crowded with other resorts on the same beach, and have great service and privacy. Overall, our experience was "Excellent"! Value - Good. As a shopper, we always want more discounts and opportunities for a good bargain. We just felt that the price could have been a little more reasonable. Mainly, due to the age of the facility. This does not mean that the facility was run down or falling apart, just some amenities are outdated. Ie/ We would have liked a stereo in our room for music. Granted we could have purchased a portable Bluetooth speaker, but would have been great if the hotel provided one. Service - Excellent. Staff pleasant, courteous, and helpful. Upon arrival the air conditioner was not working properly. We advised the Housekeeper in passing, and was planning to follow up with the front desk. We came back from beach to find the air unit fixed and working properly. An indirect issue was addressed and resolved by a staff member, that was not responsible in our mind, for fixing the issue. Wow! Beach & Pools - Excellent. Beach is secluded and no other resort is on top of you. Clean and very nice. Giorgio Armani's house is located next to the resort. Obviously, he knows perfection, with his house located right next door! Pool was clean and refreshing. Enjoyed the location and the amenities! Dining Options - Good. Limited to 3 restaurants and one outside grill. One restaurant is a pay event, needing a reservation a week in advance. This is the Ismay restaurant. We did not eat there due to the waiting list. However, the Gaugin and Seascape restaurants were awesome! The Gaugin has private cabanas for dinner. The location was great. Service and food perfect. Room Comfort - Excellent. Mentioned earlier the air unit was not working upon arrival, but was fixed within two hours. Overall, the room was great. Clean and everything working properly. Bathroom was spotless and the housekeeping service was outstanding. Only one ask, is my wife and I would have liked more Caribbean music playing at the dining and pool areas. However, our like is another's dislike, We believe music does help comfort the soul! We "Highly recommend" this resort to you!

GREAT VACAY!!!!

This was one of our most relaxing vacations!!! We are beach people and the beach was 10 steps out our backdoor. We scuba dive and snorkel; my husband was able to do that right on the beach. The room came with brand new top quality snorkel gear for you to use.The pool was wonderful too. This is a resort for adults only, which was great no children running around. The food was good and the drinks were marvelous. Best of all the employees were exceptional and all the guests were great as well. Our rooms were okay, but with being 10 steps from the ocean it was wonderful!!! The beach was white soft sand right out your back door and the ocean was the most beautiful colors of blue you could imagine. You didn't need any beach shoes - sand was never burning hot and you could walk right into the ocean like walking into a swimming pool!!! Many of the guests were return guests. We loved it and would definitely return. Also, what we liked, you could do as little or as much as you wanted. No beach vendors either. GREAT PLACE TO BE!!!!

Living the Caribbean LIfe

My husband and I just returned from our vacation in Antigua. We had a 6 day, 5 night stay at Galley Bay Resorts and Spa. To say the least, it was an outstanding trip. The accommodations were perfect - beach front room with a view of the Caribbean sea - it is my dream to wake up to that view every day for the rest of my life. The people at Galley Bay are what will make you want to go back time and time again. Everyone is friendly, efficient and professional. The food was excellent (we didn't have a bad meal the entire time we were there!). I would be remiss if I didn't mention the beautiful grounds - If you do go, take the Garden tour- Curt, one of the gardeners, a very pleasant and personable man, will give you an enjoyable and informative experience. My husband and I couldn't be more grateful for the relaxing, stress free visit to this beautiful resort. We would definitely go again.
