Great Family Resort

My husband and I have traveled to many all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. We prefer low key adults only luxury resorts but for our kids (age 9 & 11) first trip we wanted something where they could try a little of everything. Food is ok. It’s all-inclusive buffet food but the al a carte restaurants were great. The beach is perfect. Little rocky in some spots but our kids had no complaints. There is also foot on the beach & by the pools every day from 11-4. Great hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken, nachoes. Kids loved being able to eat on the beach. The beds were amazing for resort beds. The family club swim out rooms were perfect for our family. King size bed was comfortable and kids loved the bunk beds. There is a trundle bed under the bunk beds to easily accommodate a 3rd child. There is also a curtain to divide the bunk beds & king bed so when the adults wanted to stay up a little later the kids could sleep. The resort is huge! That being said we went into it knowing that and we like physical activity and had planned to do a lot of walking. There is s trolley that runs frequently that we could have jumped on any time. We planned our days so we didn’t have to run back to the room frequently. Also note one of the large pools is under refurbishment. It is blocked off with a black ugly tarp. Since we prefer the beach to the pools this didn’t really bother us but it could be a real eye sore to sit next to all day.

Needs a little love....

Overall this resort is decent at best. We needed a resort that would hold our family of 5 which is very hard to find. It was nice having the space for our family. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly! No complaints whatsoever! The rooms are very nice and spacious. Everything was kept very clean. The bathroom was also very large with 2 sinks and a large shower, separate toilet room and bathtub. The beds left a lot to be desired. One of the most uncomfortable beds ever. As far as the food is concerned, the dinners you make reservations for were amazing! The food was delicious and all of the staff was great! The buffet breakfast & lunches were decent. The beach was wonderful, a bit of a walk since the resort is so large, but very well kept. The pools on the other hand were disappointing as they are in desperate need of renovation. There were missing tiles everywhere, and my daughter and I ended up cutting our feet on some of them! The pools really need to be completely redone. We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed it.... but unfortunately with so much of that resort really needing some work, we wouldn't stay here again unless a remodel was done. :)

Decent family getaway

The stay was comfortable. The rooms are decent and accommodating for families of 5. They need some updating though. The sheets and towels almost daily had some sort of stain on them. That's a turn off. The shower fluctuated a lot between hot and cold. The air conditioner was loud, but perhaps that's just me as I am a light sleeper. We had ants in our room day 1. We were given a bottle of Raid to take care of it. It's a large complex, but there's a tram that takes you around. There's also an activities calendar. Some of those were ok. Shows were fun for the kids but I was unimpressed. Buffet food was typical and okay. The restaurants were better. The pools were warm and generally clean. The beach was congested. I didn't love all the chairs lined up compact. Lots of seaweed. People constantly walking around selling stuff. Not relaxing. Disappointed. Staff were generally friendly. They offer tour options but didn't go on any. Water sports offered confine you to a very limited area. The "kayaking" isn't really kayaking. It was an ok trip, but I won't be planning a return any time soon. Transfer to and from hotel was easy - we also booked that through Cheap Caribbean.
