A successful return visit
A friend once asked why we return to Dream Sands when there are so many resorts around Cancún. After some thought, the answer is simple: it’s the staff who draw us back every time. It’s so comforting to know that whenever we travel, we are welcomed and treated like family in our home away from home. The Dream Sands team’s warmth and genuine care make every visit special. I’ll never forget one November storm when I slipped and fell on my outstretched hand — Jenny and Fernando were immediately at my side with ice and a comfortable chair. Fernando then rallied his team to manage the situation so others were spared the same fate. My husband loves celebrating his birthdays here. We feel confident inviting friends to join the “fiesta,” knowing they, too, will enjoy the experience. Gustavo and Gerson have become like Mexican brothers to us — we look forward to spending time with them at the beach. I’d also like to acknowledge Melissa for her ready smile and enthusiastic spirit on the entertainment team as well as her new side kick Luis who is always willing to do what is needed for his guests. We appreciate that Dream Sands feels manageable and welcoming compared with many larger resorts. With my imperfect memory, I’m grateful I don’t need to wait for a trolley or search through several identical buildings to get back to our room. The beautiful Caribbean views, tempting sweets at the café, and a well-crafted drink in the lobby mean I can be back in my room within ten minutes and spend more time enjoying the sun without missing anything. We also love being able to watch the poolside entertainment from our rooms when the day has been long and we want to relax in our “comfies.” Tonight we’re looking forward to our teppanyaki reservation at Himitsu, and we thoroughly enjoyed Gaucho Grill last night. We are eternally grateful for everything the staff has done for us here. Dream Sands will always be included in our travel plans The Wormalds Ps. We also enjoyed our tequila testing activity and how they lovingly set up a private dinner on the beach for my husband's birthday - cheers to Alberto and Oscar

Excellent entertainment
Entertainment is 10/10! Brian is an excellent aqua fitness coach and Luis was an amazing kayak guide. Shows were fun! Attentive staff. The preferred club server, Sergio was excellent.

I would avoid
Location is decent for access to Coco Bongs etc. Hotel staff very good and couldn’t do enough for you. Pool and beach decent however it’s a nightmare to get sun loungers because there is always a wedding on which gets priority areas on the beach. The rest of the beach areas are for preferred club members which is an upgrade option ($60-90 per day). Food is decent, drinks okay (better drinks available on the preferred club upgrade). Overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, we ended up having to upgrade just to get sun loungers in the sun which is a bit of a joke having already paid for a premium room and all inclusive holiday.

Lovely resort
Excellent experience. Hotel staff are so friendly and it is located on the best beach in Cancun. Exceeded my expectations.

Mediocre resort with even more mediocre food. Do not recommend.
Basically a below average resort with mediocre food at best. The only bright was the beach concert by Alexandra which was really nice under the night sky. Only go if you're ok with an overall mediocre experience. I would rather spend a bit more and go to nicer resort.
