  Super glad we're starting here

  Alexandra was amazing entertainment . All the servers were very attentive and awesome. If you've never been to the hotel zone this is the place to start!!

  Truly could not have had a better expiereince

  This is the place!!!! After reading through hundreds and hundreds of reviews for dozens of different places we decided on Dreams Sands and could not have had a better time. I have to start by recognizing all of the staff members at the resort and how they all went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. I wish so much we could remember everyones names but there wasn't one person that didn't exceed our expectations. Traveling with our special needs son is extrememly daunting and stressful and the only time we travel is for his medical treatments. We came to Cancun to get him stem cells and the service and staff made it feel like a truly relaxing vacation even though we were there for a medical trip. When our son had meltdowns the staff did everything possible to help and never once judged us or looked annoyed which is very rare and so so appreciated. When the beach team saw us come down in the mornings they made an extra effort to get us a spot close to the water and pulled extra chairs over and laid our towels for us and we're just so attentive. The cleaning staff was amazing across the board in the entire hotel. Really all of the staff in every department were just phenomenal. Room service was fantastic, the buffet was delicious and we always left stuffed. The restaurants were beautiful and the service was great but we preferred the food in the buffet or room service. They shows were great and just I can't think of anything we didn't love. It made us feel like we could come back here for an actual pure vacation and not be nervous about how our son would do and navigate because the staff made us feel so comfortable. The beach was like what you dream of. It was so clean and just stunning. I was worried about seagrass being an issue but the staff do an incredible job of keeping a huge area clean and perfect for swimming. The first couple days the water was perfectly calm and flat and the last 3 days we were there we had some small waves the kids loved to jump. Every morning when we would go down to the beach it felt breath taking. This is also such a great resort for families. No partying and 20 somethings going wild. There was a pool on the other end for adults but it was easy to avoid if that wasn't your vibe. I would guess probably 3/4 of the guests were families. The next time we plan on visiting Cancun we won't even consider any other resort we are coming straight back to Dreams Sands.

  Cancún Dreams Sands

  We liked the hotel. The beach was clean, the surroundings were clean, we loved the spa, and the staff was very friendly. The food was varied and good. The restaurants were delicious. There was a variety of drinks. Activities were offered daily and every night. The room, although not 100%, was very good; the cleaner came daily. We especially thank Olimpia from UV, who kindly helped us from day one in every situation, friendly and respectful. Very charismatic. Oscar and Enrique at the breakfast buffet, who served us kindly every day; Manuela at the beach area, always attentive and so kind; Marcela and Rangel at the El Gaucho Grill restaurant, waiters with such respect and dedication; Ashanty, Margeli, and Maria at the spa, were very kind and offered very relaxing massages.

  Not the best resort in Cancun

  First off, this is a very small resort. And even though it is all-inclusive, if you want front seating at their shows/dinners, you have to pay extra! The restaurants are just ok which you expect at these resorts. El Patio had great service and good food. The Gaucho Grill was terrible! They have a preferred club area for those that paid extra (which we did). It did give us better service at the beach/pool but nothing extraordinary. Overall experience was just ok. I would not stay there again.

  Amazing beach, crowded commons spaces

  Pros: * hotel is clean, rooms are comfortable and food choices are good * one of the best beaches I've been to in the Caribbean/Mexico region! (especially if you like calm waters, no waves) * staff is super friendly and helpful Cons: * common areas are small and crowded * not much room on the beach if you don't upgrade to Preferred Club * dress code to restaurants is ridiculous and enforcement is inconsistent (we saw men wearing shorts in a pants-only restaurante, men are not allowed in sleeveless shirts but women can be wearing a beach coverup only, etc.) * bedroom walls are thin and noisy neighbours can be a problem We upgraded to the Preferred Club as soon as we saw the very narrow sand area and how crowded it was. It felt like the only option if you wanted to enjoy a stress-free vacation. But even then folks are still reserving chairs and only got to lounge on the third row (but at least we had a spot!)
