  Great family resort

  Booked tropical with family – 2 rooms adjoining, provided same floor (1330 & 1331). Housekeeping was good (Nicolas) cleaned daily, provided plenty of towels. Turn down service only twice and Preferred amenities only once. Only draw back room faced main road which could be noisy at times. Food: Overall, food was good at the resort! At anytime of day, you had options. The buffet was good for breakfast, but not so much for lunch. Poolside chicken grill and cantina day were excellent. All the wait staff were very pleasant wherever we at and waits were normal. Special thanks to Esteban (Tappiynaki) and Ricardo the special event waiter (served only at the VIP Members dinner/lunch) Entertainment: The entertainment team was non stop! They were fun, energetic and very engaged. We participated in several daily events as well as with them in VIP Events. Special thanks to Uzzy for becoming my grandson’s favorite! Spa: The spa was excellent! The hydrotherapy on of the best small circuits all because of Wendy! She was so attentive and took excellent care of us! Couples massages by Victoria and Justina were superb! Beach Preferred: Bar & Servers and chair guy, were fantastic. Thank you to Harrison, Santiago, Eric, Ronaldo and, Martin. We rented a cabana and had great service all day with Martin taking care of us!!!

  So disappointing

  This hotel has a great beach location, fantastic staff! Unfortunately it does not cater to couples and the Preferred Club is over sold was often like a Kids Club. The restaurants have a very limited menu, the food is often cold and trying to eat is very difficult as they do not offer a reservation service, so you just turn up and have to wait - up 2 hours on one occasion.

  If food is important, find another resort

  Just got back from a family wedding there. If you have a food allergy such as gluten or are a vegetarian stay away. Very few choices for gluten free and no actual vegetarian chicken or beef. At 11:00 in the morning all of the restaurants were closed n where to get food. Restaurants have short hours and limited menus especially lunch. Seaside Grill turns away “non-preferred” guests for breakfast leaving the buffet as the only option. Same foods everyday and my wife was cross-contaminated as buffets are risky. Sunday night at 11:00 pm a wedding celebration had a 15 minute fire work display 100 feet from the rooms. Working staff was excellent and friendly.

  False advertisement

  Be warned. That lovely picture on the Hyatt website of a pool with a swim-up bar is not how it looks. They moved back all those nice reclining seats and placed big cabanas right on the edge of the pool, which blocks the view of the pool and the ocean! Terrible move. But you can rent them for 225USD per day. They don't tell you that or show that in the pictures. Speaking of that pool, they also don't tell you it is an adult-only pool, which means 18 years and older. Now we had our 13 and 16-year-olds with us. Just them. They were kicked out. They were doing nothing but standing beside us, looking over the edge. But here is the thing: because they were older than 12, they are considered adults by the resort for payment. But not when it comes to anything adult-related, such as the pool. So I pay for an adult, have no access to the only nice pool, no alcohol, which I am fine with, so why am I paying for an adult? Oh, for the room, they say. What a scam. A manager came out and said, "Sir, if another drunk adult hits your kids, you will get mad". That is why they must leave. They were with my wife and I. Now, anyone under 18 must be supervised; I could understand that as well. But the pool rules say you are not allowed to enter the pool if you consumed alcohol 1.5 hours earlier, and they serve alcohol in the pool. So, you can understand why I took the time to post this review. Just a scam, and no one likes to be scammed. If they had refunded me the difference between adult and kid prices, I likely would not have even bothered with this review. This is all about expectations. They show this beautiful view and sell this as a family resort, but anyone with teenagers, I guess, goes into the kids' pool, which was fine for kids under 10. It had many young kids and was perfect for them I guess, but not teens or adults without kids. Next off is the preferred rate. 700 USD more. It got you Pringles in the room each day and access to only one little area of the beach, which was no better—a complete waste of money. The food was so so. Long line-ups that you could skip, all you had to do was pay 100USD for a 20-dollar bottle of wine per table. One night, at a poolside buffet, they must have had 15 tables open, but you could only access them if you bought a 100USD bottle of wine. Also, rooms were cleaned and serviced every other day, and I had to call several times to get the fridge restocked. I have been to other resorts; this is my first time in Mexico. After this, I am very hesitant to go back to Mexico if this is how they do business. I am sure there are more ethically run resorts in Mexico. Read the reviews and ask questions. Get it in writing. This resort is not all-inclusive, the food was just ok, and the pictures were not as they were.

  Good but could have been great

  Clean resort. Staff were attentive. A number of restaurants would only allow you to reserve if you agreed to an expensive wine package upgrade. Beaches were clean and staff was friendly. Food was not as great as I had hoped for. Room was clean and maid service excellent. Resort is in good shape. Warning - therearea lot of weddings here.
