  Family Wedding

  Wonderful time! The gentlemen at the Preferred Club Beach Bar were fantastic all week. Big shout out to Santiago, Ronaldo, Gerson, Francisco and Antonio!

  Just OK

  Pros and cons Starting with cons Wayyyyyy too many weddings. How can this be a family friendly resort with wedding music on till 10 to 11pm nightly? Often 2 to 3 weddings. Id wish id known this! Cons..we had 40 dollars stolen from our room which was left in our unlocked safe so our fault but still. Cons the Mexican restaurant and food overall was just ok. 6/10 The kids club was good but a bit repetitive and my kids watched a lot of tv. Activities like pool time were cancelled if some kids didnt want to go. The staff overall were great though at the kids club and took my 3.5 year old eve. When she cried a bit. The pools had garbage in the morning and the ocean was brown and also had garbage unfortunately. Pros Service was descent esp by the bar. I enjoyed the spa. The resort was clean and the room was nice with the preferred club. The entertainment was ok. The adult restaurant and seaside grill were descent. I liked that it was small and easy to navigate The coffee shop and in room coffee waa great. Overall it was fine for our needs but I wouldn't return!

  Everyone and Everything is Excellent

  Another phenomenal trip. The whole hotel functions so well. Everyone does their role extremely well and there is an attitude throughout of nothing being too much hassle. Particular standouts were Alexander, Alonso and Josue at the Manattee swim up bar who always had a smile and were amazing keeping up with everyone's orders, whilst having a chat. Very friendly. Victor kept us constantly topped up with drinks from the Barracuda bar team running to and from the pool (incredibly thorough and appreciated) and Wilbert in the preferred club is always a pleasure to speak with- a professional with an amazing memory and a very friendly attitude. Lastly, Daniel and Jessica went above and beyond to make this return trip even more special, they could not have done more. I cannot name everyone, but you all did a phenomenal job and we cannot wait to come back.

  Resort needs updating

  Here is my review of Dreams Riviera Cancun. First, I will preface there was no choice in selecting this resort as we were coming for a wedding. We are a family of four - 2 adults, 4 year old, 5 month old. Resort - nice sized resort. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Everything wasn’t too far away and very accessible. There are a lot of weddings - at least two per day. Pool layout is very convenient for families. Highly recommend renting a Bali bed if travelling with young kids - provided shade, shelter from rain, or place for kids to nap. Beach - we were the near the end of season for bad seaweed - still quite a bit each day. The resort does clean it up daily. I didn’t find it to have any smell but still too much seaweed to swim in the ocean. Room - the rooms need a major update. The rooms feel very run down. We chose the master suite for more space with the family as the standard rooms are quite small and provide no privacy in the bathroom. We stayed in the master suite 4th floor initially. Upon arrival there was a leak in the middle of the room (an interior wall). The bell man did call maintenance/housekeeping which proceeded to just wipe the floor and the wall continued to leak. It looked like it had been a problem before as the tiles had been removed previously. The bathtub inside did not work. We did complain and we were moved to the other building 5th floor. This room had issues with the AC. Both suites also had issues with restock - I think they only restocked our fridge twice (with water) during the week. We had to call daily to sent up beer or pick it up ourselves. No sheets for the pull out bed, needed to call for a crib when we arrived (this was previously requested). Both rooms did not have issues with noise but other people we travelled with, their rooms sounded like doors/windows were open they were so noisy. Food - food is subjective but our opinion was the food was okay. Not terrible but nothing superior. Best thing I ate all week was the omelette at the world cafe. There are a lot of choices (restaurants) to try. Timing of service in restaurants is a major issue - dinner from when we sat to received food each night was around 1.5-2 hours. Drinks took around 30 minutes. For families it made it difficult to keep kids happy waiting so long for food. Room service - order well before you need it because that could take 45 mins to 2 hours. The guacamole was brown by the time it arrived and food cold. Overall we wouldn’t return for the cost/value of the resort. I think there are better (more updated) resorts for the same if not less money.

  Wedding vacation

  Oliver was so entertaining and made our pool experience so fun. We enjoyed playing bingo and movie trivia and his dancing. He had a blast. Thank you Oliver!
