Reasonable priced luxury resort with Great Service and Amenities
We have been coming to Divi Little Bay for years. We stay in one of the timeshare units and usually have the same unit every year. We love the resort, the beach, the staff, and the convenience. Our unit is in the older part of Divi and is very spacious with a large bedroom, living area, kitchen, and two bathrooms. It is near Fort Amsterdam and, as a result, is very quiet. Since it is an older unit, it does have a few issues: sticking doors, some chipped paint, a very loud AC unit, and a temperamental safe. That said, we are very happy with it overall. The staff overall is of high quality. Most everyone is pleasant, engaging, and very helpful. The landscapers, the housekeepers, and the service staff are friendly, courteous, and engaging. A special shout-out to certain members of The Shack and Slice. Laurel and Alex of Slice and Carlos of The Shack went above and beyond to provide great service. Laurel (who works at Slice) goes out of her way to make sure that everyone who frequents Slice is treated like they are the most important guest at the resort. She is always engaging and fun to be around. My wife and I think Laurel should be giving classes in service to everyone at Divi. Divi offers a variety of restaurants at the resort. We frequented Sea Breeze, The Shack, Slice and Mix. They also have a mini mart at the resort, so you can have meals in your room. We tended to have breakfast/lunch in our room and dined out for dinner. Mix has added a menu of items that are grilled on the Big Green Egg and are available on the weekends. This is a nice addition. The Resort also has a large bar area - Gizmos. There are also many excellent restaurants off property near the resort. The resort has several pools/hottubs in addition to an excellent beach. We tend to rotate among the infinity pool, the beach, and the main pool areas depending on the weather and the shade. While not inexpensive, we find Divi Little Bay to be very reasonable compared to other resorts in the Caribbean. Overall, we are very pleased with Divi Little Bay and plan on returning for years to come.

A relaxing week at the Divi
We spent a relaxing week at the Divi Little Bay Beach Resort. The resort has everything you need. From restaurants, bars, excursions and beach chairs. There are two pools with bars. We happen to ta stay in a timeshare unit which was equipped with everything you would need is you didn't want to go out for dinner. If you wanted to venture out you would have to have rented a car or take a taxi. The place is secure , clean and a great value.

Reservations fiascos
Our timeline of the many reservations fiascos that ruined our vacation: The reservations for 2 units for 7 nights each were made many months in advance. I specifically stated that the guests have mobility issues and should not be placed in units up the hill or on high floors. I was told these notes were added to the reservations, which came back as 7 nights in a 1 bedroom unit for our guests, and a 6 night followed by a 1 night reservation for a 1 bedroom deluxe unit for ourselves. One week before check in, I called both Divi Resorts (Resorts) and Divi Vacation Club (DVC) to see if we would need to change rooms after the sixth night, and to remind them about the location of the units. I was told that these notes were added to the reservations. At check in on Sunday night, our guests were placed in a good location for their 7 nights. We were placed in a unit up the hill and on the top floor. We were told nothing could be done because they were full, but to check back during the week. There were no notes in the reservation about anything. It was painful to watch a loved one struggling with the climb. When we finally reached our unit, the room keys did not work. I had to trek back to the front desk to replace the key cards and then climb back to the room. On Monday afternoon the front desk had no new information. At the Monday night managers reception, Anne-Marie, the general manager, introduced various department heads and said they would rather hear about any problems while they can be fixed rather than online later. She gave the example of a couple with mobility issues that were assigned to a unit up the hill and on a top floor. Unfortunately, the managers all disappeared as soon as she finished talking and she did not tell us the easiest way to reach people - calling, emailing, etc. On Tuesday afternoon we were shown a Casita that was available, but it was such a downgrade from our current unit, that we declined. On Tuesday night, a bellman showed me another path to our unit that required more hiking up the hill, but less steps to climb. This made life a bit easier, since by Wednesday, it was no longer worth switching rooms On Thursday, the front desk was able to see that our 1 night reservation was overlapping with a 7 night reservation. This meant that we would not need to move for the last night. On Friday, I called Colin, the front desk manager, to let him know about all the reservations issues that we encountered. I also told him that we did not receive some of the DVC Platinum level benefits like the beverages that our unit was supposed to be stocked with. He was very charming and was able to offer me something for these shortcomings. I thought that all our problems were behind us until - Saturday morning, our friends called us to say that there was a note on their door stating that they needed to evacuate their room by 10 AM. This was extended to 11 AM, but they were not going to get a new room until late afternoon. Their printed confirmation of a 7 night stay meant nothing because it came from the corporate office. We all went to visit Colin, who was able to get them into a renovated studio suite that was available immediately. On Saturday afternoon I needed to go back to my unit but the room key cards were deactivated because the system treated a 6 night stay as being over. I had to march back to the front desk again to get a supervisor to reactivate the cards. On Saturday evening, our friends did an early check out and were hit with an extra $60 charge for their involuntary second check in. Fortunately, this was waived. On Sunday after departing the property, I received 2 email messages from Resorts requesting my feedback on the two stays. One was for the Divi Little Bay Resort, and the other one was for the Divi Golf Resort in Aruba. How incompetent is this organization? Anne-Marie, owners / members have no influence with either Resorts or DVC, but maybe you can convince them to invest in new reservations system software to prevent future fiascos. There are positive things about this property. The units are spacious, and the views are lovely. It was good to see money spent on improvements, such as the new tables and chairs put into service while we were there. They have increased the number of beach chairs and umbrellas available, so now the biggest problem are the chair hogs who put towels on several chairs early in the morning and leave. It would be nice if the posted no saving chairs rules were enforced. It might upset a few nasty, possessive people but the rest of the guests would thank you. The location of the resort is terrific. The bars and restaurants are satisfactory. It was an experience cooking one's dinner at Sea Breeze on the lava rocks. The coffee shop served me lukewarm coffee, so I never went back. The staff are very nice and mostly helpful. Watching Gizmo climb up on her bar and get a drink of water is a hilarious sight. DVC does not deliver their promised benefits. If what happened to me is how they treat Platinum members, what happens to others without status? The sales office people only want to sell more points, not solve problems. We never received the upgraded Internet service or the upgraded bathroom toiletries, and it should not fall upon the guests to track down which department is responsible for any issues that arise.
