    Great value, fabulous staff.

We found that overall this hotel was value for money but it did have some positives and some negatives hope this review covers all the main points. Check in is long winded and takes a while, reception staff not particularly welcoming or friendly. I did have means to call down to reception a few times and never o ce did they answer there phone and when I spoke to management about this they didn't seem that bothered. We stayed in room 2820 it was a large room with a jacuzzi in the room although we could hear when other people used their as all the drainage is connected and very noisy. We were give fresh fruit flowers and bubbly in our room. Bed was large with firm mattresses, bathroom was ok with plenty of hot water showers pressure ok too. There was a mini bar in room with soft drinks and beer, there is no tea and coffee facilities but you could request a coffee maker for hot water. We had access to the club lounge in a morning 7-11am GERRY was there to great us and didn't have to repeat our drinks request after ther first day he was always smiling, friendly and efficient. In an evening the lounge had a lovely range of canapés it was open 6-11pm RAF was in there serving for a couple of days then LEON took over. He was fabulous chatty, and knowledgeable and once again never had to ask for a drink as he preempted your need and you never had an empty glass. He made the best cocktail along with my favourite and amaretto sour which was the best I have ever had anywhere. The alcohol available was all top brands no scrimping on measures. Wine available is red, white  rose from chile and sparkling, always served very cold. If there was once criticism it would have been nice if it was open til 12pm. Overall it is a nice complex with a main pool and shallower pool within the semi circle of the buildings. There is limited shade, no umbrellas only Long purgallas and the sunbeds and literally inches apart. There are kiddie slides and activities but as we don't have kid didn't take too much notice. There is an adult only pool on 1st floor with a bar we were served by LUIS AND CARLOS who asked remembered our names and made the most fabulous mango daquaris. its a busy bar and they work very hard There are cabanas round this pool but we offen found them wet or without any covers which is a real shame as it could make a real difference to this area. One thing that could be improved was if there was a small snack area up there. There is a lovely strip of beach down some steps from the hotel with sunbeds and shade once again so close together. There is a lifeguard there and the sea is lovely to swim in on the calm days The main buffet is mainly Mexican food. All high quality Ingredients but not a lot of variety. There is one british meal daily but these are an interpretation.  Everything I ate i enjoyed  but im not a fussy eater. fruit was always fresh and tasted beautiful. The desserts have so much gelatin in that they could bounce there way out of there. There were a lot of very large groups at the hotel mainly families making the area very noisy. You were sat In a different place each visit so could build a relationship with the servers which made it feel more like a production line rather than a dining experience. During the day there is a snack bar serving hot dogs and burgers along with Chinese  and sushi fridge with is very fresh. We enjoyed all these and where always well stocked. There is also a tea and coffee area with light snacks and biscuits available all day. There are 5 a la carte restaurant mexican, Italian, fish, French and a grill but only 3 open each night, we ate in them all and enjoyed them but once again the courses are brought before you've even finish the last making you feel rushed and less of an experience. bookings were made on line and this was easy to do. One thing we really liked was that your inclusive wrist band was also you key card very handy not having to dig for key cards although ours did lock us out a few times and then it was a 10min trip to reception from our room. Just as a note for general info we travelled 1-14th Nov and about half days we're grey, windy and rainy and not just short showers was mist of the day. Americans tip in dollars, we tipped in pasos if you only have larger notes the bar staff will change these for you so you have lower denominations.

    Don't go if from UK

I would avoid if you're from the UK, not the best holiday experience. We were a group of 17. The down sides, void room 2707 on the adult only side. You are right under the lounge so every morning from 5.30 onwards you are woken by scrapping on the floor. We said this sounded like trolleys going across the floor bringing the food in and setting up. This happens every morning. On a night you have it from 11 till about 12.30am while they are cleaning. You don't get bathrobes and slippers, you don't get a coffee machine. This I would advise when you check in ask for the coffee machine. Jacuzzi don't work it was broke. So you just got a bath in room. We had no bedside lamps but you can see the marks where there were some. Our mini fridge wasn't filled when we got to room had to keep asking. This took over 4 hours to get water. Three more times through our 2 week stay the fridge never got filled. I just gave up in the end. We only had I chair on the balcony I had to ask for another strange considering we check-in as 2 adults. The window is falling out the frame, massive gap, was windy when we where here so glass banging all through night against the frame. Didn't see the point bringing it to there attention as I went and told them about the air conditioning soon as we entered our room. It had a toxic smell which they said they would send some one but they never did. No entertainment on night unless you want to sit in a room with rows of chairs to watch a show between 8-10pm. We all got fed up on night so went into Cancun just for some entertainment. Food not great, I'm a fussy eater so I struggled but we had people in our group who are not and they said it's the worse food they have experienced as well. Think they just don't cater for the English. No bacon at breakfast you have to ask for this but we only managed to get it once in the two weeks. They were never none left even at 8.30. You have to queue to get in for breakfast. We decided to eat in the adult lounge in the end. Jerry is great he will get you bacon if you have a purple band in adult only. Jerry and Jesus are probably the best staff. The bartender by pool is great he will have banter with the English. Bar tender in the lobby is the most miserable bartender I have experienced don't think he like the English. Wayne boots was great for the beef eaters, the Italian was nice feel like your eating in the dark but nice. Burger and chips round pool and Chinese on a dinner time was a life saver. If it wasn't for these we would all go home lighter than we came. Cocktails are just slush with a spirit in. Watch how many you have we all had episodes where the toilet was our friend for 24-48 hours. Kids slides only 2 out the 4 open. Games room not like it's advertised no Xbox, PlayStation Wii, just a shabby pool table and table tennis. Cinema good for the younger kids. Floors are a health risk we had two falls one of the falls needing stitches on first night. Just make sure you wear something with a good soul. If your holidaying from the UK I would stay at a RUI hotel. The food and entertainment are much better. First stay in Mexico and the hotel made most of us feel we would not want to go back. Such a shame as the description of hotel seemed awesome but was nothing like the write up. I will have a reply back from this which will be a standard reply where my concern's will be passed on. I don't think they take the faults in to consideration. I would say get the window fixed before it falls on a guest's as this is dangers. We ended up wedging the out side table and chairs up against the glass to stop it from banging the frame as were afraid it would fall out and smash.

    Great for families.

The place was great for families. The foots-ball, the ping pong and the pool table need maintenance. But the rest was great and food. Recommend it for families. Jesus is great bell boy and could help with anything you need.
