Worth the money

My wife and I have never visited a resort that we felt like we loved so much that we wanted to return for another visit until we came to Couples Swept Away! From the room to the food to the beach, everything was amazing! The beach is one of the most beautiful ones we’ve been to yet. The restaurants serve amazing food, you definitely need to try the jerk chicken while you’re here. The service is awesome too! They always make sure you’re taken care of. Where it’s a couples only resort, it’s nice not to have to worry about children running around. The excursions are all included and totally worth booking! We have zero complaints and are excited to return!

Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica-5 days

Hello-my husband & I visited for 5 days over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful time. Pros: -gorgeous beach with large swimming area -lush tropical atmosphere -rooms housed in smaller buildings instead of a large hotel with a rustic vibe and lovely porches, cathedral ceilings, individual ac units and ceiling fans -top shelf alcohol available -good food/variety compared to other All Inclusive resorts -friendly staff -no tipping -easy check in with rooms ready upon our arrival -transportation to and from the airport included -lots of water-sport activitiess included in the price -plenty of tree shaded areas on the beach -entertainment highlighting Jamaican flair -large sports complex -resort well maintained Cons -pools could use a little updating/refreshing -1.5 hour ride from the airport -we chose a less expensive garden veranda room and you can hear road noise, but we knew this when we booked, so it was fine for us -bathroom with (open air ceiling) -vendors on beach, but they move along with a polite "no thanks"

Second time back, probably won’t return

Beach is amazing, the rest is average at best. This was our second time going around the same time of year (end of July, early August) and breakfast was HORRENDOUS. Lunch and dinner options were solid, but honestly breakfast was possible the worst thing I’ve had. Especially considering this was probably one of the most expensive all inclusive on the island, there should be more than 1 option besides the buffet for breakfast. Additionally they host weddings which entails friends and family who aren’t couples so they’re sloppy drunk and at times felt super trashy. Kinda felt like Cancun on some days. Just gross, young and mid twenties people being egged on by bartenders to take “Bob Marley” shots and yacking in the bushes. Definitely not what I expected being there for a second time. Plus, just like the first we went, it almost felt like the staff there made you feel bad for being on vacation. Like the majority of the staff legitimately seemed mad daily to be working. I mean, I get it, it’s hot, they hate their job, but I’ve never seen the amount of attitude given to people who are dropping like 3-4K on a vacation by anyone else in the world except here. They’re mad if your ordering food, they’re mad if you want an extra towel, just mad at life. Bad experience for returners, prolly won’t be back. The beach is unreal though, probably bc it’s the only thing the staff can’t be made about.

What's to Love

Some of the kindest, quickest service in Jamaica is at Couples Swept Away, where delicious dining and tons of water activities draw couples in for romantic getaways.

The fun selection of free activities provided by the resort such as tennis lessons with a pro, catamaran booze cruise, glass bottom boat rides, fitness classes, unlimited water skiing and wake boarding, snorkeling and so much more!

What We'd Change

At 90 minutes from the airport, couples are in for quite a trip. Don't worry about the taxi, though--complimentary shuttles carry lovebirds between resort and airport.

Why You Should Go

You've seen good beaches, but none of them hold a candle to photo-ready Seven Mile Beach. This amazing swimsuit optional beach is famous for a reason!

Couples Swept Away: Seven Mile Beach, Unlimited Golf and Full-Service Spa

Imagine waking up to sunshine streaming through your window and the sound of the surf whispering in your ear, while your favorite person in the world sleeps next to you. This romantic scene is why couples take time out and get swept up in each other at Couples Swept Away in Negril. Jamaica is home to a number of the most amazing beaches in the world, and its famed Seven Mile Beach is yours at this couples-only resort. Tropical gardens and Caribbean decor in the deluxe rooms and suites encourage couples to relax and reconnect with one another.

Miles of soft sand are your personal playground at Couples Swept Away in Negril. Jamaica offers spectacular sunsets, so that magical stroll you've always dreamed about can become reality. Three pools cool you down; just swim-up to the bar for frosty strawberry daiquiris and relax. When it's time to take a taste tour of the on-site dining, six restaurants have tempting, delicious options: seafood pizza at Patois Patio, spicy pad Thai at Lemongrass or pesto-coated snapper at Feathers are impossible to resist. Sway to steel drums after dinner or head to the Piano Bar for classy tunes and cosmos. If you get the munchies in the middle of the night, Cabana Grill is open until 5am, and their jerk-chicken plate will hit the spot.

The great food isn't all that Couples Swept Away is known for; a jam-packed, water-sports program means there's never a dull moment! Snorkel through the crystal-clear surf, challenge your sweetheart to a kayak race, enjoy the underwater world on a glass-bottom boat tour or savor cold bottles of Red Stripe on the sunset catamaran cruise. Want a slower pace? Golfers can check out Negril Hills Golf Course for unlimited green fees and transfers, or indulge in a bit of pampering with facials at the resort's spa.

After soaking up the sun and surf, there's nothing like sliding in to a huge king bed in the quiet Atrium Suite - the nightly turndown service is a nice touch!
