Resort

The customer service was at its best , they tried to help and still unsatisfied since the hot water didn't work the whole time we were in the hotel . We waited for 3pm to go into our room and went in and the room wasn't cleaned , the housekeeper came to clean it as soon as we complained about it . The dinner and lunch options wasn't so good due to the weather a lot of things in the resort was closed . We at the buffet everyday and we were sick of eating the same thing over and over . The hotel rooms needs to be renovated so it's more luxury inside and not looking so warn down . Our door in the room was jammed on the door to go on the balcony it was trouble opening it . But , I would not recommend this hotel to anyone because , things aren't done in a timely manner it's slow customer service , the food isn't all that and the hotel isn't all that inside the inside but the outside it's great looking . Overrall had a good time on my trip just from my friend and I enjoying one another's company

Disappointing

Terrible experience. The room was very old, had a full size bed when it was supposed to have a king, the door didn't lock and looked like it had been bashed in before, despite constantly asking for more pillows all we got were 1 paper thin pillow a piece. When housekeeping cleaned our room and my boyfriend and I came back from the beach to shower and there was blood all over the towels that were supposed to be clean!!! Noone spoke english and we felt very scrutinized for being Americans and could see the resort staff laughing and pointing and talking about us. The resort charged my boyfriend and I more for things than they did for other people. We met a couple from holland that went on the same excursion as we did that they booked through the hotel the same way we did and they were charged $20 less. Cheap carribiean said that all water sports were included that were bot motorized like sailboats but the only thing this resort offers are kayaks you can only take out about 15 feet. The snorkel equiptment is dirty and not cleaned, handed from one person to the next without the mouthpiece being cleaned. The scuba shop was not good. When we fort arrived we were told it was $175 to receive your scuba certification and you get a lesson in the pool and the ocean. After my pool lesson the price was suddenly $480 and I never got an explanation as to how or why that would be the case since I could clearly see the sign that said it was only $175 but the instructor refused to give me any reason. We went on an excursion that we paid extra to scuba dive on and also paid extra for our pictures to be taken that we never received. Every time we went to pick up our cd of pictures the scuba people would run away, close the shop early or make an excuse that it would be ready the next day. After 4 days of this it was time for us to leave and we tried desperately again to get the pictures we paid for and the scuba place swore they would email me the pictures and I have emailed them everyday for the past week, called and texted the numbers they gave me and have never gotten a response. To be stolen from, ripped off and cheated out of something I not only paid for but was a once in a lifetime experience is heartbreaking. I would not reccomend this resort

Great value and stay

Frequent traveler pleasantly surprised at quality of this resort --room was clean , well air conditioned, and nice with balcony facing ocean . Service was attentive , nice to all ages in party and spoke English without difficulty. Beach was lovely with large palm trees providing shade and breeze even in August --very nice to sit and listen to live music in the evenings too. Dining was plentiful with local cuisine --buffet for breakfast and lunch . Dinner was somewhat a concern as you had to wake up at 9 am and get in line for a reservation for the restaurant each evening. All were gone by 10 am. Bar drinks were plentiful throughout day. The omelette king was so great --miss the homemade omelette each morning !

Worst $2100 ever spent

The customer service was absolutely horrible! The pool was dirty and nasty. The food was disgusting and served looking like vomit NO EXAGGERATION!!! Could not even even get a flushing toilet or bath cloths. I have been to the DR a few times through this site and this trip was the most expensive and horrible experience ever. Everyday I had to call about the toilet not flushing and NO ONE EVER came to repair it so that was not a good thing. Then because the toilet was not working we had to go downstairs to the public pool restroom just to use the restroom every single time for 5 days. Their main concern here is selling their $15,000 timeshare that they force on you on a daily basis. They have the reps telling you that you need to buy so that they can pay their rent. Really?! Completely unprofessional. I am so disappointed that I want at least halfof my money back. This was stressful and horrible. I can not explain in enough words how bad this resort is. I am disgusted beyond explanation. And I hate that there is no one you can talk to about anything here.

What's to Love

We love how the beach is just a short walk from any room. Speaking of rooms, the ones here are pretty spacious, too.

What We'd Change

We found there wasn't a big variety of food at the buffet on some evenings. Luckily, there were plenty of different choices at the a la carte restaurants.
