Fourth year in a row but........
We have stayed here four years in a row. This year they checked us in on the 3rd floor and then told us the elevators on the entire property were not working. The room was fair at best. Everything squeaked, the sink faucets, the door and especially the bed which every time you moved it felt like it may collapse. The air conditioner controls did not work. We had to shimmy the bureau draws to keep them from sliding open. We moved to the 2nd floor and the room was a little better, less squeaks but noisier air conditioner. On the positive side, the breakfast is a good value and the pool is very nice. We noticed each year the property was getting nicer. This year for whatever reason it has taken a major step backwards.

Family/grandkids Vacation
It was a great experience the price is excellent the biggest perks you have access to the entire Atlantis at a lower price. Atlantis is literally across the small road. The grandkids and us had a blast will be back. Recommend the Comfort Suites in a heart beat
Would do it again without giving it a second thought. Service is excellent. Proximity to Atlantis makes it a no brained to stay here. Awesome. Just awesome !

Needs a Facelift!
My family and I have stayed at the Comfort Suites for 7 years in a row. The experience this time was not stellar. We had two rooms booked and had requested the newer side of the hotel. You would think being there as often as we have, that request would have been honored. All the prior visits have been honored for that request. However, this time was different. Both rooms were on the older side of the hotel and not next to one another. That did not sit well to start. Then, the room my wife and I had was okay but the water pressure was absurd. We took showers forever because the shower pressure was basically nonexistent.
The room my kids were in way down the hall smelled incredibly musty. The hallway carpet certainly needs to be replaced and I for one don't enjoy sharing my bathroom with the occasional ant. I killed a few while we were there.
I simply did not feel the love this year from the hotel and for a guest that has visited multiple times, I expected more!
We will likely go back again next summer because the area and amenities are amazing. However, if they can't put a few dollars back into the hotel, we may be searching for another vacation spot. With the 12% daily tax and 15% gratuity added to everything you purchase in Paradise Island, you would think funds would be there to make upgrades. Hopefully they can bring back the Paradise to the hotel to match the amazing beach and use of the water park area of the Atlantis!

how far away is paradise island's comfort suites from the beach and the airport11 answers

You'll find Comfort Suites in the between Atlantis and the Paradise Island hotel. It's a 5 minute walk to Cabbage Beach. Super close.
The airport is about 25-30 minutes away. Easy to get there via cab. It'll cost you $32 flat (unless the rates have changed).
Have a great time!
Esmee
half hour from the airport and 5 min from a really nice beah
if you stay at comfort suits
madhu
For the beach you have to walk over to Atlantis. It will take about 10 mins door to beach. The airport is 20 mins.
girlb
airport is 30 minutes - $40 for 4 people for a taxi
The beach is a 15 minute walk. the closest is east of Atlantis nest to the RIU or the beach at Atlantis - 20 minute walk
islandsfamily
You can use the Atlantis beaches and pools which is located next door to the Comfort Suites. The airport is about 1/2 hour away. We passed a few beaches on the way to the airport but never got a chance to hang out there.
Stefanie
About 2-5 minutes from the beach, Atlantis's beach you have to walk through the hotel but you get chairs and towels and beautiful beaches, and the airport is about 25 minutes. $40 max for a taxi
Sundai
Airport is 35-45 min away depending on traffic. Beach is within walking distance but you dont have a beach view from the hotel
Bevosbuddy
My suggestion for the beach would be to use the beach access from the Atlantis property. There is no easy access from the Comfort Suites themselves, it is a long walk down the block and then back a road to get to the beach. If you go on to the Atlantis property, you can go to any one of their several beaches or walk up the beach to the public beach where they were renting jet skis, parasailing or banana boat rides.
It was about a 20-25 minute ride from the airport. It think the cab ride was around $40 from the airport.
Tamlyn33
walking distance to the beach at the Atlanis and about 40 minutes from the airport
LT626
By taxi, the airport is about 25-35 minutes away depending on traffic.
The comfort suites are on Paradise Island, so you're never too far from the beach. The Atlantis has their own beach on the property, but the actual beach is just a little farther past that. You're looking at a max 10 minute walk going through the Atlantis property.
lily0gi
The airport is approximately 11 miles away from the hotel. The closest beach is located in Atlantis which is a few feet away from Comfort Suites.

How much is the cost for a third person in the room?6 answers
Have read $40 extra: per night with two paying full price in room or an additional charge?
8 years, 105 months ago
kath
The price will depend on the travel dates and age of the traveler. After your travel dates and flights are selected you will be able to see a price per person breakdown.
JenCC
I believe it was $25 per night for an extra person.
Stefanie
When we were there last week it was $40 a night plus the maid and service fees plus tax. I believe it works out to about $65 a night for a third person.
humbleVP
This is about right, unless the 3rd person is a child, in which case, Comfort Suites has deals where children sleep and eat for free.
summermom
We just came back last week, got the deal where our 2 kids 9 and 14 years old stay free.
virginia1
There is also a mandatory $15 per night, per person, in addition to the hotel costs applied for every night you stay so the maid will clean your room. It's ridiculous.
TypicalMom

You may use the "Create your own vacation" feature presented on the left hand side of the website. This will allow you to enter in all your information and receive the best pricing.
DanielleCC
It's not that pricey. Just calculate it in before you book. When you pick the days at the beginning of booking the trip increase it. The tab above the calendar allows you to increase or decrease the days.
LadyPAndBigTy
We stayed for 8 nights and it was about $975/pp
AWinNE
I would call the customer service line. They are very nice and informative. I called to increase the days we stayed and it was still a great price. hope this helps.
Shawtime
Like Vegas nice place to go for four days...the coral pool at Atlantis is fun for adults but kids can hang there too!! or mile long lazy river
Judykb
If you like the beach and the waterparks, you will enjoy the 7 days in Bahamas
carrascaso
You can usually add on nights as long as it falls within the deal's dates. Personally, I've been to Costa Rica, St. John, and now Nassau/Paradise Island and I would not recommend the latter, especially if you are going for an entire week.
If you want an island vacation, St. John (15 minute ferry from St. Thomas) is awesome or look at some of the other Bahamas.

Is food and drinks included? how far way are there restaurants and around how much do you spend per night orb food and drinks?12 answers

lili
Only continental breakfast is included in the stay. During the day, we ate and drank at the Atlantis bars and restaurants which aren't terribly expensive ($6/7 for a beer, I think $10 for a cocktail, salads $10). It was what we would expect to pay everyday since we live in New York, so it may be a little pricer if you live elsewhere.
There is a free shuttle to and from Montagu Gardens which is very good. We took a cab ($15 each way, a little pricey) to the Fish Fry area where there are 10+ restaurants to choose from). We also walked to the Atlantis Harbor I think it's called, a 3 minute walk from the Comfort Suites. There are many restaurants to choose from at the Atlantis but we didn't go to any of them.
Stefanie
I think there are 4 or 5 restaurants.. One is burgers and fries, jerk checken and jerk pork all day/ night long... ONe is oven roasted pizza during day only... One is breakfast and lunch buffet most of the day... night ones were Itian, Japanese (which asn't great), and french...
overall excellent.
Tammie
Breakfast was included and it was enough to start you day but no food and drinks weren't included. There were lots of restaurants around and those weren't cheap but weren't extremely expensive either. There was a little store across the street and we picked up a couple bags of chips and came back to have lunch a couple of times. Honestly the best deal on food was at Atlantis there were certain restaurants that had "value meals" and for under ten dollars you got a huge hamburger, hot dog, chicken fingers, etc. and a soda and fries for all under ten dollars. My sister and I split that a couple of days and saved for a splurge on dinner.
Sundai
I believe they do have an all inclusive plan. Restaurants are within walking distance and most are very expensive.
Bevosbuddy
The only food included would be the Continental breakfast. There are several restaurants within close walking distance, most of which are on the Atlantis property. Downtown Nassau is a short cab ride away as well. We found food and drink to be a little pricey. For 2 adults for food and a drink or 2 per person would run an easy $150. We didn't get to eat in town at all, just at Atlantis as we had 2 young children with us. We never had a bad meal on the Atlantis property, but it wasn't cheap. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would go there again in a heartbeat.
Tamlyn33
There are restaurants close by that are affiliated with the Atlantis. They are pretty expensive (to me)... on the lowest end, $15 for a hamburger, on the high end, $75 for a steak. However, I found a Quiznos sub in the shopping center beside of the Comfort Suites, and you could eat breakfast for around $5 per person, and lunch for under $10 pp. There's also a liquor store in the same shopping center where you can find canned cokes for $0.80 and beer/ wine for pretty cheap.
beachgirl15
Only breakfast is included, and it's minimal. Breads, doughnuts, fruit, and cereal. Atlantis is a 10 minute walk and Anthony's is a 5 min walk (if that) but food in general is very expensive. Average meal for 2 adults was about $35 at the cheapest locations and about $80 at the nicer locations.
Kipecec
You get a free continental breakfast that includes, donuts, bagels, toast, cereal, coffee, orange juice, milk, and water and a few others. That is the only free food and drinks. It is really close to walk over to the Atlantis for restaurants (most of the cheaper places to eat are the pool side restaurants) and there are a few within walking distance not at Atlantis. The food and drinks are very expensive. Our cheapest meal was at Johnny Rockets and my husband and I split a burger, fries, and both had a cokes-cost around $25.00. Just about every place charges a 15% gratuity on bill. You can expect to spend close to 80.00-100.00 on dinner at most restaurants at the Atlantis and around Nassau.
er6698
There are meal packages that I saw, but not much else. Your average meal is going to cost you $20/person (easily). There are some cheaper restaurants in Nassau itself, but not much luck on Paradise Island. Even those it's about $50 for a couple (1 drink each, 1 app, & 2 entrees), a good restaurant to eat at is the Green Parrot. The food is by the far the best on Paradise Island.
MacBain
Food and drinks were not included. Food starts at $15 per plate unless you go to Quiznos which is like $7 a sandwich. Drinks were $8 and up. The restaurants are all within walking distance!
AWinNE
Breakfast is included. Last week the breakfast was an upgraded continental - it had scrambled eggs and either sausage or bacon in addition to typical continental breakfast food. I believe you can order lunch at the pool restaurant area. There are other restaurants very close by. As for what it costs, it's up to what you want to spend. Prices are high for food and drink but there are places you can eat for a reasonable amount. For example you can get a Quiznos sandwich meal for under $10 just across the street form the Comfort Suites. We often eat lunch at the Atlantis pool area where you can get a value meal under $10 which includes unlimited soda refills.
humbleVP
Buffett breakfast is included for all registered guests. They have a deal where kids sleep and eat for free, but there is a limited number of restaurants where that offer can be used. They serve lunch there but no dinner so the offer is mostly off premises. Food is EXPENSIVE on Paradise Island. Family of four, 2 adults-2 kids (8 and 11) cost $80 at Anthony's where we used a kids eat free card; Marketplace, a fancy buffet restaurant in Royal Tower at Atlantis cost $150 for our family (adults $50 each, kids $20 each). We ate at a fancy steakhouse at the Marina Village across street and paid $263 for two adult entrees (seafood and steak) and 2 kids entrees but no cocktails/beer. We ate in downtown Nassau (Poope Deck) for about $150 (no kid menu) but had to pay about $50 cab fare all-together. We never bought lunch. I packed a cooler with ice, water bottles, sandwiches and snacks I made before heading out to Atlantis. (We did a little grocery shopping enroute from airport to the hotel the day we arrived. Be warned, food costs a lot because almost everything is shipped in to the islands). The snack shacks at Atlantis do have some reasonable deals -- value meals of sandwich or burger, fries and drink for about $8, but you can't deviate from the package or else you get charged full price. Happy vacationing.

Is there a quiet part of the Comfort Suites Paradise Island Hotel or time of year to travel?11 answers
This hotel seems great and such a bargain! However, my hubby and oldest son are both very light sleepers. Is there a room/part of the hotel that would be quieter than other parts? Also is there a time of the year (from now until 8/31) where the hotel would be less crowded (and thus probably quieter). We are 2 adults, 2 kids (kids are 14 and 11). Thanks for any help! :)
8 years, 104 months ago
Tracymoo
Comfort Suites advises that the East wing is much quieter than than the West wing. You are able to request a room in the East Wing and the resort will do their best to accomodate you, subject to availability. If you are looking for a quiet time of year to travel now is it! The summer months are the "slow" season in the Caribbean and great time to book a relaxing vacation.
ccsusan1
Our room was facing the street and cars and motorcycles were quite loud throughout the night. The second floor leading to Atlantis is also noisey due to people coming and going so I would ask for a room away from the street and not on that hallway. Enjoy!
Bevosbuddy
Right now it is very quiet. We just came back from our trip and we didn't have any problems with sound. We were in room 219 and it was silent. This is the "slow" season. I would recommend going now :)
Krissy0783
We stayed in room 353, which was facing a little courtyard and the back of the convention center of Atlantis, and it was pretty quiet. Also, the walls seem pretty insulated. We stayed next to 4 teenaged girls and didn't hear them the whole time. We went in the end of May and it wasn't very crowded at all. It seems like late spring is a good time to go because you've missed the winter snow bird rush and you're too early to compete with the families with kids out of school for the summer. You might have missed that window though... Hope this helps.

According to the hotel staff and natives, the best time of year stay at this hotel and visiting the Bahamas in general is anytime before June...so from Jan. - May you'll avoid crowds, high prices, and hurricane season.
Superstar22
we had ajoining rooms on the fifth floor. even though it was close to the elevator, it was quiet.
motherof5
We just got back from our trip there (just me and the wife) and the place was mostly deserted. It's more humid and more chance for rain during your stay, but we got lucky. Rained only 1 night while we were sleeping. As for the hotel, it was quiet the whole time we were there.
MacBain
I DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH NOISE. THE HOTEL WAS RATHER QUIET.
waterbabies
We were on the west wing, 3rd floor and never heard another person (with the exception of a door slamming once or twice).
tkgw
It is very crowded during the summer months. Your best bet would be off season, once kids go back to school -- September October and on. The quieter side (and newer) is the east wing. The higher the floor the better (only 5 floors). The west side is easier to access Atlantis, but as such all the foot traffic flows through the west wing. We had no problem with noise in the east wing 3rd floor and we were near the elevator. There were lots of families, but people are out at Atlantis during the day and there is enough night life at the resort that people didn't "party" at all at Comfort Suites. We have two children, 8 and 11, who were wiped out by the end of the day that they had no energy to be rambuctious (and they can be very loud) at night. My guess is most families with younger children like ours found their little ones in bed without much quarrel.
summermom
Sept. and October are quiet months

I have a family of 5: 2 adults, and 3 kids age 12 and under. Can we stay in one room?11 answers
8 years, 104 months ago
Barb
All of the rooms we offer at the Comfort Suites have a maximum occupancy of 4 regardless of age. In your case you would need to get 2 rooms.
JenCC
No, Cheap Caribbean doesn't allow you to book it that way. Most resorts definitely have the room to fit all of you in 1 room, if you didn't mind having all the kids in 1 bed.
LadyPAndBigTy
you could get two double beds and a pull out or the sofa pulls out.
Damascus
We just traveled with a family of 4 and stayed in a deluxe room. It had 2 double beds and, I believe, there was a pull out sofa bed. I am sure they definitely have accomodations for a family of 5. We definitely recommend it. Enjoy!
Tamlyn33
we stayed in a room with a king size bed and they also had a pull out couch
LT626
DEFINITLEY THE COUCH PULLED OUT 2 ADULTS OR THE 3 KIDS
Lesismoreuptown
I don't know what the hotel allows but the rooms with 2 double beds and a sofa bed would work.
motherof5
It is my understanding that you can, since your kids are under the age of 12 - otherwise you would have to have two rooms.
Murtz
I BELIEVE SO, AND IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT KIDS UNDER 12 STAY AND EAT FREE. THE ROOMS ARE LARGE WITH 2 DOUBLE BEDS AND A SOFA.
waterbabies
I have the same family size , and I had to book 2 room, in the real life the rooms have a sofa bed too, and we can fix in one, but they don't allowed more than 4 people in a room. But if not expensive when you book two room for a family of 5.
sunshinefamily
Barb, according to the hotel's guidelines, you would need two rooms. I would suggest that you call them directly and talk to them. That would be the most reliable source for your question. Hope this helps.

I'm looking for one of these deals closer to the New Year. When will they be available for viewing?3 answers
My friend and I want to go to the Bahamas for New Year's Eve, but all we see are deals that are available through December 21. Anything past that?

Most of our deals and sales for travel over the New Year's holiday come out closer to the fall. However, we suggest checking back often as we sometimes receive special sales and pricing sooner.

The best thing to do is get on Cheap Caribbean's email list. The deals are there unfortunately you have to be somewhat flexible on the dates. Having said that we found this deal which is prime time spring break and another deal over Thanksgiving one year.

This is an "adults only" resort. There are no babysitting services available.
CoronaCowboy
Kids club available for tots (Age 4 and up) at no extra cost. They have daily events scheduled.
Tramlaw315
Comfort Suites is not an adults only property, however, it does not appear they have a Kid's Club. There is Child Care/Babysitting Services available at an additional cost and the Kid's Camp at Atlantis is right next door.
MariaCC
Babysitting is available at CS by arrangement. Prices are not published. However, Atlantis has numerous programs for children/teens of all ages -- they are pricey -- but amazing. Elementary aged kids have programs where they bake deserts or do science type projects. The place is fancy -- and so are the prices. One workshop cost around $50! Check the Atlantis website for descriptions of these.

Not at Comfort Suites, but at Atlantis they do.

At the atlantis they have a place which is only for kids they have alot of fun, and if they are around 11 or 12 and up they even have a little night club only for them..

The resorts do not allow a reservation to be canceled and rebooked under a new special especially if it is cheaper as they can deny that reservation if they see this has occurred. How does the access to the Atlantis work?11 answers
8 years, 100 months ago
Family4
Clients booked at Comfort Suites have access to the Atlantis Resort which is located across the street, about a three minute walk. You will receive wristbands which will allow you to use the Atlantis facilities. It is a great value.
ccsusan1
You walk over to the Atlantis, go to the Aquaventure desk, and show them the guest card you get from Comfort Suites. They will give you a wrist band for that day, and this will entitle you to just about everything.
It's a lot of walking because Atlantis is huge, but once you find where the Aquaventure desk is the rest is easy.
Basha
When you check into Comfort Suites, they issue each person a card with your name on it. When you are ready, you walk through the Atlantis casino towards the hotel area and they have hotel personnel posted at the entrance to the lobby/aquarium/ticket booth area. Show them your Comfort Suites card and then you go to the ticket booth and get your daily bracelet that gives you all access to the Atlantis facilities. You get a new bracelet each day. Since we were Comfort Suite guests, we did use cash for lunch at the pool and their pool bars.
Pjas
It is very easy. When you check in to the Comfort Suites they give you a pink card with your room number and account number. You can put $400 on hold on the card to spend at the Atlantis so you do not have to carry your wallet with you. (However, to get a locker you will need cash or a credit card - $7 for a small which holds a large backpack.) Then when you want to go to the Atlantis, you just go out the side door of the hotel and cross the street. The entrance to the Atlantis Casino is right there. Past the casino is the Royal Tower Lobby. You go down the stairs in the lobby and there is a wristband station right there. Show them your pink card and they will give you a wristband which gives you full access to the Atlantis all day long.
screengem
all you do is goto royal towers (a short 5-10 min walk) and get a wrist band...thats it! So worth it...I went with a 3 and 6 yr old (fam of 4 as well) ....great time and great deal at Comfort Suites.
DJerz33
Upon checkin at CS you are given a pink card with your name and dates of visit - you take your pink card the Royal tower lobby area down the stairs to the left is a counter, present the pink card and the attendant will put a bracelet on you. This process must be done every day as the bracelet color will change daily. If you are just going to get on the property and go to the pools (like DH and I do) your card will gain you acces w/o the bracelet. For the slides you will need to be wearing the bracelet.
CaribeLady
Just walk across the street into the Atlanis to use their pool or beach. Go to Royal Tower to get bracelet that lets you use the water slides and all the pools
Margaret
upon check-in at CS, you are issued a pink registration card; walk across the street to Atlantis & go to Guest Services desk; fill out short form & issued a colored wrist band good for the day.
Trimmer
You'll get a paper "card" when you check in which you have to show at Atlantis then they'll give you a wristband. We used the tip of bringing something to laminate the cards w/since they're paper. I just brought some packing tape and put it over the cards.
ArmyMomof2
You must have a pink slip of paper and each day show at the correct desk at Atlantis for an arm band and then you have total access including charges to your room at Comfort Suites.
colorado1234
You have to walk one block and you're just in the Atlantis entrance. After that, you have to walk a lot in the hotel to go to the aquaventure and the beaches but is part of the entertainment

The fare is $32 one way & it takes about 45 minutes due to traffic.
bleachie
Comfort Suites does not offer complimentary transportation to and from the airport. The average taxi cost is about $35 one way for two people. The average time to get back and forth from the hotel to airport is 20-30mins.
DanielleCC
We paid $42 (US) - plus a 20% tip. But we had eight people and required a van.
Bibee
The comfort suites is about 30-40 minute drive from the airport. We used majestic tours for $ 40.00 a person round trip. I believe a taxi will run you about $35 or $40.
Gecko1
I believe the posted rate for a cab to the airport from the Comfort Suites is $38 one way. I think it takes about 20 mins.
RLou
It is quite far. Taxi costs about $36 each way.
Ashok
its approximately 30-45 minutes to the airport. The better value would be to take the shuttle through Cheap Carribean
PatPat
probably 15 minutes depending on the traffic and season...
LottieB
There are cabs everywhere at the airport. Transportation is no problem. Its about half hour. Cost is about $35 US
itchintogoaway
Well is about 25 to 30 min. I will recomend to get the transportation that they offer when you book your vacation which would be cheaper. But if you dind't have the chance you can always offer the taxy guy they are willing to work with your budge that's the good thing about the people there that you make an offer and they are most willing to get the offer
Estefany
The transportation from the airport and back was included in our deal. Took about 35 - 40 minutes. The drivers knew how to avoid the traffic

Do you need a visa if you are a non-US citizen but you are traveling from the US?6 answers

CheapCaribbean is only able to adivse what documentation is needed for US citizens only. You should be able to find your answer at travel.state.gov.
DanielleCC
We are Canadians and spent a few days in Fort Lauderdale before heading to Nassau and Paradise Island out of FLA - only needed our Passports
MAW1
No, if you are a U.S CITIZEN or a U.S RESIDENT you won't need it.
Estefany
Check the Bahamas official web-site for all visa information - they have a list of countries which don't need visas. If you are travelling from the US, you'll need a valid US visa when you return. Also, the US customs are located in the Bahamas airports!
greg10583
if you are a US Permanent resident you need to bring your respective country passport + Green Card.

IF you are a non-resident, like an H1B worker or a visitor like a dependent visa holder, then you are required to get a visa from a bahamas consulate.

Realistically....how much money do I need?11 answers
Okay...I am really cheap...lol...and will be staying 6 nights at CS in June...best price I could find. I've read about going to the grocery and eating lunch at Atlantis near the water and the free breakfast at CS...but how much money should I have available for dinner and spending? I have a family of four and the two kids are free already....any other tips to reduce costs?

We were there January 3 - 10, 2012. First the breakfast is pretty good, although eating eggs every day for a week can get tiresome. There is also waffles, toast, cereal, donuts, fruits and yogurt. What we did was eat the eggs and sausage and toast for breakfast, then we took some bagels, yogurt and fruit up to our room. I had brought some zip lock bags so we put the bagels in there and I had also brought some pouches of tuna salad so we were able to fix some bagel sandwiches for lunch. We took the fruit with us to Atlantis for a snack, along with some energy bars I had brought. Then the yogurt was our evening snack. That meant that we only needed to buy one meal out per day, which was good because the prices at Atlantis were very high. Actually the prices all over the Bahamas were high. We did find that the burger deal at the Atlantis poolside eateries was a good deal and some days we split that as it was quite generous. We also found (on our last night there) that Virgils, in the lower level of the convention center, has a short bar menu (available only if you ask) that included trash ribs. That ended up being a very generous portion of ribs and was only ten bucks. We also ate at Johnny Rockets, but avoided the milkshakes which started at $7. we also brought microwave popcorn and some other microwave foods to supplement our one meal out. We also went into a grocery store in downtown Nassau and even a small bag of chips was $9. I was wishing I had brought Pringles along!
Libby
Definitely take full advantage of breakfast and fill up. There is a Quiznos sub shop right across the street, which we often used as a cheap meal option. I never once ate in Atlantis due to the ridiculous prices (even Johnny Rockets was expensive) and if you are going to go out for a meal, go out for dinner. There is not much difference in the prices between lunch and dinner menus, lunch can turn out being equally as expensive. Allow ATLEAST twenty dollars a person (adult) for any restaurant you go out to eat at. For the cheapest food, cross over the bridge into Nassau and eat at the local spots downtown. Decently priced and delicious.
Kaynast
Hello, I was there the past July and what you can do is the following go to downtown and there's a super market buy some drinks like sodas ect and snacks that way you have things in the room since they have a small fridg and the microwave is in the first floor. And buy a gallon of water. Don't eat the the resort in paradise island nono is expencef really expecef. go to nassau downtown and they have cheap restaurant also burger king subway ect. What we did was to get some sandwiches and at night we just heat it up. With $500 you should do it if you know how to spend it. And if you are going to buy presents go to the market and always offer cheaper that they ask for. I hope this can help you on your trip You are going to LOVE IT...
Estefany
We just did a trip in January. I placed drinks and food on the credit card just to see how much we spent. We have two kids also, 9 and 4 and we only used the free meals 1 nights. We ate at Bimini Road twice and had Fish sandwiches at the Atlantis pool for lunches. All in all we spent $700 on food and drink. and we enjoyed ourselves with plenty of both. Hope this help you budget your trip. Word to the wise, we lost another 300 in the casino, so if you find it, I'd like to have it back (enjoy!)

A few options to consider to reduce costs.
Pack a supply of everyone's favorite snacks. Food is very expensive on the island, including snacks.
Take full advantage of the free breakfast buffet.
As you mention, do go to a nearby grocery and purchase some staple items. The rooms have large enough refrigerators to store a decent amount of food for do-it-yourself lunches.
There are a few lower cost dining options at Atlantis, but plan on spending a minimum of $10 per person for a sandwich/chips or burger/fries combo meal. The dinner buffet is $47 per person so that gives you an idea what food can cost at Atlantis.
There are plenty of cheap eats in Nassau (ask a cab driver or local about the best place to go in The Fish Fry area of town). On Paradise Island, cheap dinner options are limited. There is a Johnny Rockets near the hotel, which will still set you back at least $10 per person.
If you are really cheap and pack a lunch everyday you can probably get away with $60 for food and beverages.
institute50
We found it hard to eat dinner cheaply. Atlantis restaurants are outrageously expensive for dinner. There is a Johnney Rockets in the Marina Village (very near CS) that is reasonable. Anthony's is a block from CS - Italian on a budget and very good. Carmines is next to Johnney Rockets- closed Sunday and Monday, but might be a good option. Also there is a deli in Marina village that was not too crazy expensive. otherwise, you have to take a cab ride off of the immediate island. Fish fry is not far. That is a center with multiple "authentic Bahamian food". We did not do it, but it is sopposed to be good. Also no real supermarket in walking distance - need a cab for that too. CS will give you a microwave if you ask too - good for quick meals. Have fun!
Bonbonbon
If you can drive on the left rent a car, many choices fast foods and restaurants Alantis is priced high There are grocery stores off paridise island , 1 dollar toll one way only if you do not rent car there are small stores and restaurants in shopping stores in small mall next door to comfort hotel
J2588
i just got back from a 5 night stay. We took some snack things in our luggage to get us buy. We ate the breakfast everyday and it was the same options daily. Kinda bland. kids can eat lunch free at hotel, we never did this. the two restaurants the kids can eat lunch and dinner free are near by, not on site and only with a paying adult, must eat in. There is a Quiznos just a block away, dominos delivers pizza.
Eatting at Atlantis is expensive no matter where or when you do it. lunch pool side for 3 was 42.00. tip is included. We got three ben and jerry icecream things pool side and it was 21 dollars.
Cab to the store will be about 13 dollars each way.
Cab to across the street or into Nassau will be about 13 each way. i think they have a loading fee.
Restaurant portions are large and we often had left overs or splint meals.
i believe anything will be cheaper in nassau vs PI.
The nightly movies at Atlantis is free, so i just figure somethings are a wash.
The facility at Atlantis is huge and tons of fun. I would recommend walking to the party store by Quiznos and buying pop, water, candy chips or what every it is you want for snacks. The place is small and it does cost more than at home but it is cheaper than getting things at the hotel.
adult beverages are about 8-10 a piece at the hotels.
no matter what you are told, the restaruant the green parrot (near by) is not that cherap. dinner for three was well over 50 and there were no cocktails.
The place felt very safe to me and staff was friendly.
vending machines wat 2.00 for a pop.
If you are cabbing it to the hotel from the airport, it would be ideal to have your cabby take you to the grocery store and wait for you to grab stuff you will need. Remember it will cost you about 26 dollars to get over the bridge and back so even if you give him 5 he should be happy. there is a small, dorm size, fridge in the room. hope this helps and have a great time!
Sunloverr
I can't tell you exactly how much to spend, but here is what we saw: The cab from the airport was $32 plus $2 per person, some may charge $1 for each luggage. - prices are posted at the cab stand in the airport - go through the cab stand to insure you have an offical driver/fee. don't know if there is any known 'issue' with fake cabbies....its just a practice our family follows to be sure.
Cab rides that take you over the bridge (to Paradise island) will usually include the $1 toll. GET the FEE from the cab driver BEFORE you leave. We were charged $20 for a ride from Comfort Suites -to the Pop Deck - but $18 from another driver to return (the return trip is the one that the driver incurs the dollar toll....not the going out trip.) The pop deck is really spelled with 2 o's...but the filter on this website thinks I typed a bad word so I changed it to Pop.
Cheap dinner that is authentic and really really good??....take a cab to The Fish Fry (its an area, not a restuarant name) (about $20) and eat at Oh Andros! Packed with locals - super busy! The other top restaurant at the fish fry is Twin Brothers. We didn't eat there but its supposed to be even better than Andros. Bimini Road or Pop Deck - are tourist restaurants with 'okay' food but much higher prices. Monatague Garden was casually elegant and very nice - good food, too. Entree Prices were in the range of $17 - $30 - BUT the restaurant will PAY your CAB FARE! And they have a driver that will bring you back to your hotel - all free. We would return to Montague and definitely eat more times at the Fish Fry.
Lunch in the park was outragiously expensive - $3.50 for small water bottle, $9.50 for loaded nachos (but they were really good and actually worth it.), ice creams....$6!!! Our family of four spent $64 the first day for lunch at the park....2 burgers, 2 nachos, one soft drink. Rum drinks were not too bad..about $6.50 = $7.50, I think. Be careful....the rum runner is strong!
My family snitched a piece of fruit each to eat at lunch time when we went to Dolphin Encounters on Blue Lagoon Island. (which, btw, I highly, highly recommend if its in your budget. we went there our first full day so we didn't realise the food prices and souveniers were reasonably priced - compared to Atlantis. A man at a stall on their beach sells conch shells for $5 to $10 each! I wish we got more - they wanted $20 apiece in Nassau.)
Souveniers were typical prices - cheap $5 t-shirts available for kids who will out grow it in a season - some nice dresses and cover ups for $20 - $40 (at the shops near the little grocery store and dunkin donuts.) Anklets (made in china, but evoke the spirit of the islands.) were $6.50. A cooler cup for soda pops was $3.50.
On the Atlantis ocean beach there are a couple of locals who will offer you coconut water/drinks. It was $7 without rum, $10 with the rum. Its worth it just to see the guy expertly open the coconut with just a darned butter knife! Drink the tasty coconut water and then he'll add ice, mixture and rum.....yum yum yum - and SUCH a cool thing to sip out of the coconut and then eat it!!
Oh - another thing....pack light - we wore our swim suits everyday from morning to evening. Only wore regular clothes for dinner! I could have packed in a backpack for our 4 nights!
I hope this helps you. Have a GREAT time!
VacationDreaming
The Bahamas are not cheap. The average dinner there was around $100 for just my husband and I. But there is a pizza shop on the bay, you can get a large for around $20. Fed four adults easily. Anthony's (I think) across the street wasn't too high. And there is a Quizno's in the shopping strip across the street.
amandajb
Nothing is cheap at Atlantis!!! Just for the two of us, we never spent (although we tried) less than $70.00 for dinner, and this did not include any drinks. Watch out because gratuities are always included. We were highly, highly disappointed in the Nobu restaurant due to prices and portion sizes. We spent well over $120.00 (only had water to drink and no dessert either!), and we left there hungry. The Marketplace buffet was overpriced for what was offered. Several restaurants were closed while we were there, and some of the popular ones required reservations weeks in advance, so due your homework before you go, so if you desire to go to a particular restaurant, you will need to contact them before you leave on your trip.

Why cant a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children) stay all together in 1 room?6 answers
I have a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children) Are there no rooms that could accomodate a family to stay together? It wouldnt be that much fun if we had to be in separate rooms. Also how would the pricing go? Im very interested in this vacation but already confused about the pricing. Since the price is per PERSON, then wouldnt the cost be the same whether you got 1 room or TEN rooms??
Hoping for the answer to come from a CheapCarribean representative, Thank You

Of the 4 room categories that we offer at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island, none of them can accommodate 6 guests in one room. Most rooms at most resorts have a maximum of 4 or 5 guests, and usually only 2 bedroom suites and above can accommodate 6 guests. For the Comfort Suites, you would need to book 2 separate rooms. You can request that the rooms be adjoining or next to each other, but that is never a guarantee. Pricing is calculated per person, but the pricing does depend on how many people are in a room, as the pricing can drop if there are more guests in a room. If you would like assistance booking your vacation package, please call into our reservation center and an agent would be more than happy to assist you.

Not sure about your package, just thought I'd let you know the rooms have a pull out cauch so as loong as you book a double bed, you could fit 6 in a room. You could always try to book four, buy just plain tickets for the other two, then add them to your room when you get there...just a thought.
amandajb
We just returned from our vacation and all the rooms we saw in the hotel were King with a pull-out couch, with no room for a roll-away. We saw a sign at the check-in desk that said 2 doubles were available for additional charge. But never saw any rooms like this as we were walking though the hotel each day during maid service, when the doors to the rooms were open.
TXplaycation
The rooms are not equipped to handle more than 4 adults as 2 queen beds would take up all the space for a standard room. So 6 ppl would be a squeeze. You could however book with the hotel directly or buy flight tickets from spirit or jetblue which had amazing 1-way ticket deals. Sorry i know ididnt answer your exact question but just offering an alternative.
Cali2Bahamas
They probably have a max in each room but the room I stayed in had two double beds and a pull-out sofa. Perfectly fine to accomodate a family of six.

Per the information on the resort's page, all guests sharing a room must be 21 years of age or older, with the exception of families with children, and must show proper ID upon request.
MariaCC
They don't ask for your IDs at the check-in, just show them the voucher printout.
greg10583
Never heard about any issue about age. The drinking age is 18 or 19 so its fine. As long as one of you has a valid ID + Credit card, you should be good to go. Though I would call the hotel anyways in case they are sticklers.
Cali2Bahamas
No. 18 is legal age there. As long as one person is of age, the other is irrelevant.
TypicalMom
No! The same thing happened to me but as long as one of you are over 21 then everything will be fine.
GabrielaM
I don't believe so since we traveled with 2 kids. As long as the one checking in is 21+.

All the additional hotel costs are included in the Cheap Caribbean price and would not be charged additionally when checking out. The only additional charges you would be assessed would be for things you purchased which are not included in your package, such as meals, drinks, etc.
ccsusan1
I was just there last week and the package I purshased included both. There were no additional charges for these items on my bill at the end of the week.

Our charges for the maid and energy cost were included in our package and no unexpected added. only thing extra was charge for safe.
transfers were also included from airport to hotel and back. Did tip the bus drivers.

nope, you have to pay both those fees. The bad part is that they are per person.. and per day... so if you are single, its ok, but that gets painful if you have a family and stay for many days.... ouch.

Not available at comfort suites. Atlantis is a very large property and we walked alot. Perhaps they have some sort of accommodation if you stayed there.

Just there last week and I did not see any. However, everyone at the hotel was very accomodating, so I'm sure they could help you find a solution.

There is a lot of walking, no golf carts. most areas have steps. This was at Atlantis. There may be other things to see where you can rent golf carts on the island.
mtntraveler
Unfortunately, Comfort Suites does not have golf carts available to rent.
MariaCC
I did not see any carts. You could rent a scooter to take around the island. But FYI, if you plan on going to Atlantis the place is very large. Alot of walking is needed to get to the beach or any of the water provisions. However Comfort Suites has a pool if you just want to bum around. But the restaurant closes at 4 and everything else is across the street. I would take a wheel chair if this a serious concern for you.

No golf carts. This is a place with alot of walking and I mean alot. I think my husband and I walked 30 miles on our 5 day trip. Talking abou Atlantis.

I only saw golf carts in the atlantis as it s MUCH larger hotel. I didnt see any other transportation between hotels provided so I would recommend picking the atlantis over this hotel to make your stay better.

What does FREE access to Atlantis include?12 answers
Does FREE access get me into the gates and let me use all the amenities (besides restaurants, casino) without paying a dime, or will I have to pay to use the waterparks and slides and other attractions at Atlantis?

At Comfort Suites Paradise Island, you get free access to the lagoons, lazy-river, pools, casino, waterslides and beach of Atlantis! And don't forget Aquaventure, a 141-acre water park with a kids' water-play fort. All of these amenities are free.
MeganCC
There is no extra charge for the Aqua-Adventure waterpark, beaches, aquarium. Also, no charge for movies......
Bahamamama19
We just were there last week! Just get your wrist band each morning at the desk in the Atlantis Royal Tower (by showing the card CS will give you at check in when you show the voucher) and you can go anywhere & do anything on the Atlantis property that Atlantis guests can do. EVERYone can charge to their room (except for lockers; cash or cc only) for food, bar, souveniers and some of the 'extras'. We didn't need to do extras, but they include water sports (private entities), swim with the dolphins, and access to the fitness center.
KTOE
You receive a wristband each day at no charge to have full access to the waterpark and aquariums and use of towels. You have to pay extra for a locker each day ($7), your food and drinks, and if you choose to do the dolphin encounter, sea lion encounter, or stingray snorkel.
Mandolin
We JUST returned from Nassau - The waterpark, beach, etc. really IS included. You are issued a pink card from Comfort Suites that give you access to everything at Atlantis. Each day to walk (2 minutes) to Atlantis to the guest services desk - sign the waiver, show your pink card and get that day's wristband. You are now free to use everything at Aquaventure. The ONLY thing it won't do for you is allow you to rent a locker at the park and charge it to your room (although all food and beverages CAN be charged to your room.) To rent a locker you need a credit card - they do NOT accept cash for lockers.
VacationDreaming

amandajb
You won't pay a dime!!! Aquaventure, pools, beaches, towels, life vests, theatre, lagoons, the Dig - all FREE for all Comfort Suites guests. You just need to present you hotel ID cards at one of Atlantis locations and get a wristband EACH DAY. Please MAKE SURE to go to the Royal Towers (next to the entrance to the Dig) for your wristbands because this is the only location where you can get it. The Aquaventure opens at 10 am, but you will be able to get a wristband as early as 9am. I hope this helps!!!
VacationFreak
Yes u get acess to the water park, slides, pools, private beach the aquarium and the Dig
Char202
If you are staying at the Atlantis or Comfort Suites, you don't have to paid for it, you will have access to everything. In the park if you get a locker, you must pay for all day, meals must be paid. Towels and water tubes are free.
DSG7
With our Cheap Caribbean trip, access to the water park was included. We were told that if you were not a guest at Atlantis, it was around $100.00 per person per day. You have to get a new wristband every day. Even though our access to the water parks was included in our trip, the lockers at the pool were not!!! Small lockers were $7.00 per day, which is all we needed, but they had medium lockers and large lockers. I believe the prices for those were $10.00 and $14.00 respectively. The tubes, chairs, and towels are free.

What kind of scuba diving packages in the hotel?6 answers
7 years, 92 months ago
Svetik
The lobby has a desk that can help, but most likely they will send you to the desk at Atlantis. My husband was told of two differant companies that were good and choose Stuart Cove's. After diving the 3 that went said Bahama Divers probably would have been just as good, but they dont offer a shark dive. They had a great time. I believe he did four dives in one day... Two mid range 25-35 feet, a reck dive & a shark dive. I believe the total was around $300 for all day. His two friends only did the first two dives & I think they payed around $120. Hope this helps a bit.
amandajb
Majestic Tours operates a desk in the hotel with lots of options for excursions. Scuba diving and snorkeling were availabe through them. They made the reservations for you through local operators. Very helpful. There were also excursions you could book through the Atlantis facilities. You could snorkle, walk with sharks, swim with dolphins. LOTS of things to do
TXplaycation
There are people at the hotel that can help you with any type of excursions you want to go on. The marina is 2 blocks away. The prices are the same if you book at the hotel or the marina.
Meylisa16
I dont know about any scuba packages offered by the hotel as I didnt do any. However from ppl I talked to they all said that the hotel package for a license is over priced. IF you can get licensed in the US, then the trip is worth it and not that expensive. there was a scuba / water scooter trip for about $150 or so per head which seemed a great deal. Other diving packages were $200 or $250+ so I didnt consider it.... I went snorkling instead :)
Cali2Bahamas
Same as you find online: Diving Bahamas or Stuart's Cove and same prices. Locals recommend Stuart's Cove because water is calmer on that side of the island. I dove there but wasn't too impressed by the dive conditions vs more remote parts of the world. Wait to book until you're there so you know what the weather will be.
SpeedyK
atlantis has a no-license required scuba diving package. the best deal is the bubble sub where you ride this motorcycle like thing that has an astronaut's headgear attached to it. it allows you to scuba dive faster without swimming/paddling and without scubadiving license. good for 12 years old and above.

Unfortunately, CheapCaribbean.com is not given any information pertaining to the prices for the excursions on sight at the hotel.
MariaCC
No. It was cheaper at the hotel
CarBell
Yes the prices are the same online as the hotel. From what I remember
Transport to/from the hotel by air-conditioned bus was $45. Sandy Toes was about $100 and the city tour was $45. All other fancier tours like dolphin encounter were over $120 or $150 but I didnt book them online so dont know if its higher at the booking desk. Id say its totally ok to just book at the desk depending on how your trip is going... however the risk is that they fill up quite fast so thats the only issue
Cali2Bahamas
We found this to be true - but we did wait to book it until we got there. Wanted to wait and see what the weather was and talk to some people first, and I'm glad we did. We were going to do the Dolphin experience at Atlantis and I'm glad we didn't. Found it cheaper at Dolphin Encounter, and you got to spend a whole day at another island - very cool!
Stags
Usually exactly the same or the CheapCaribbean price is a dollar or two less. Safer to wait to get there to see what the weather is
SpeedyK
Absolutely not. Also, you will be hit with trying to join a time-share. The best price is online. Avoid the "hostess" who wants to give you gifts, unless you are willing to sacrafice 6 hours of your vacation day.

The Comfort Suites has a 10-minute walk to the beach from the hotel.
MeganCC
If you stay at Comfort Suites, you use the beaches at Atlantis. It is a 10 minute walk through some buildings to get your arm band. then another 5-10 depending on which beach you plan to go to.
pm9raw
Hi Joann, the closest beach is the Atlantis Beach which is about a 5-10 minute walk depending on the pedestrian traffic and the route you take. You can take a the route through the Coral towers but that involves going through the stores / casino. the other route is through the lobby and later through some covered passageways. There are things to do / places/halls to see as you walk around so the 5-10 min walk goes quickly. It only sucks after a long day of fun at the beach when you have to make that same walk back. :) Its not so much fun then... .but not that bad either :)
Cali2Bahamas
Cabbage Beach is absolutely beautiful and it is about a 10 minute walk from the Comfort Suites. It is a public beach not affiliated with any hotel. Atlantis Beach is located at the Royal Towers and BeachTowers. It's about a 15 minute walk going thru the Atlantis Resort.
BAHPGH
Hi Joann, to answer your question regarding the beach, you are looking at around 5-10 mins depending on your walking pace. As all the beaches are accessed through Atlantis properies. The Cove Beach at the Cove Tower was amazing and not over crowded.
BMRinPA
There are several beaches to choose from. The closest is Atlantic Beach and it is about a 5 min walk through Atlantis.
Santorini2011
The beach is quite a walk from the hotel and can not even be seen from the hotel.
candykitch
Walk through Atlantis and it will take you maybe 5 minutes.
skynsage
The beach is a 10 minutes walk once you get into Atlantis. So with the 5 it takes to get to the royal towers I would say 15 minutes. Even those staying in Atlantis have to walk so dont let this be a factor when considering staying here.

No, comfort suites is not on a beach. Its inland and about 5-10 mins from a beach. The Atlantis has a private lagoon which is a quick 5 min walk from comfort Suites while the Atlantis Beach and the other cove beaches are at least 10-20 mins away. As long as they sound, I promise they are not a bad walk as there is lots to see/do and encounter along the way. Dont let the 5-10 min walk prevent you from booking this hotel as its really great.
Cali2Bahamas
It is not, very close but not located on the beach. Walk to them over at Atlantis, they have several beautiful beaches!
skynsage
You walk right to the beautiful beaches at Atlantis. They are right next to each other, but Atlantis is so big, it takes a few minutes to walk through it all -but beautiful to look at with the aquariums and art work!

no but pretty close. i don't know if any rooms have a view of the ocean, mine sure didn't
SpeedyK
No. You have complimentary access to the beaches of Atlantis and Cabbage Beach is close by. The comfort Suites is just in front of the Convention Center of Atlantis but is not beachfront.

What do you mean with AIR? How many people does it cover?5 answers
7 years, 89 months ago
joyce
when a package is offered as starting at a certain price with air, that means that the price will include the price of the hotel and the price of the flights. This is a per person price. these are also starting prices, and you want to check what the starting price is from the specific airport that you are departing from.
thank you.
JanelCC
Air is included in the price, as with most sites price is per person unless stated, when I booked the package out of ATL I had many flight options per person offered.
skynsage
With air means the cost per person includes hotel, hotel fees, and roundtrip airfare. Total vacation package cost will be all hotel and airfare for as many people as you requested in your quote.
funandsunlover
It means air fare is included in the price are per person based on 2 or more people.
ujhnsnhrt
When the trip is offered with AIR, doesn't that mean the price includes airfare? That's what I get it to mean. That way you don't need to make other reservations for airfare, the package price includes it. Not sure if you'd get a cheaper airfare price, but maybe a better airfare time to fit your schedule.

Free air is mentioned but is not explained anywhere. Let's cut to the chase and let me know how two adults get air fare from Tulsa and return. We're serious, but can't get the info. GWS III

Tulsa, OK
To price out the total package price, you will need to select the resort, your departure city, as well as the dates of travel. You will then be able to select the room type as well as any optional add-ons such as transfers or excursions. Then you will be able to see the final package price. If you need assistance with pricing, our sales agents are available from 5AM-12AM EST daily.
KateHCC
When you book, the flight info comes up, we flew out of ATL and many options were offered, We chose the flight we wanted and it was booked with all travel options.
skynsage
THe price listed "includes" airfare. That is the price from Miami. We flew from Detroit so it was about $350 more for each of us. However it was still a fantastic deal!!! The hotel deal and use of Atlantis will be hard to beat.
SnowbirdBeachBums
We left from Newark, NJ & air fare was included in our package. Yopu need to select a departure city to get the price with air fare. You can do this without purchasing.
DeJe
I went to Cheap Caribbean.com and booked from Tulsa. It costs a little more because it is Tulsa, Oklahoma and not a high fly hub, so to speak. We paid about $4,600.00 for our family of 5 to fly round-trip.

Did hurricane Sandy cause any damage to the hotel or the surrounding area?9 answers

More information regarding damage to the island can be found at https://www.bahamas.com/news-announcement/2012/10/hurricane-sandy-and-islands-bahamas.
It does not appear as though any major damage was caused on Paradise Island. It should be back to business as usual within the coming days. You can always contact the resort for specific questions on damage sustained during the storm.
KateHCC
We have not received any reports from resorts in the Bahamas in regards to any damages their properties.
KateHCC
Hotel didn't suffer any damage! Large windows were covered with numbered corrugated sheet metal plates, that could easily be assembled and disassembled. The staff knew very well the drill... They must have done this, many times before... Just the amazing landscaping became a little "scruffy" but in a matter of one or two days, everything was brought back to a reasonable appearance. The nature remained just as beautiful as before the hurricane. And the bright sun came up there, in the blue sky, just in the last day, when we were about to end our vacation!

No everything was great. On nassau they had scores of people cleaning up the debris that got washed onto the beaches. Paradise island was also ontop of this minor pickup. No major issues from storm

Is the Atlantis kids club included with comfort suite amenities?8 answers
6 years, 84 months ago
Boston
All amenities at Atlantis are included with your comfort suites reservation, except for those that come with a charge, such as swimming with Dolphins etc. The waterpark and the kids club are part of the exchange privleges between the two properties.
KateHCC
Atlantis and Aquaventure water park are included when you stay at Comfort Suites, however the AKA kids club is extra $45 per kid per session.
Char0101
You get tickets to go for those who stay at comfort suites. However, I'd not ever stay at CS again. It was awful. The people are rude. There is a mandated 15% gratuity on all meals. Hence the customer service is horrid; absolutely HORRID.
TypicalMom
Atlantis Kids Club is available to you even though you are staying at Comfort Suites. However, there is a charge to use Kids Club (everyone pays this for their kids to go to Kids Club).
I can't recall the price but I do remember it was expensive. Go to Atlantis website and see if you can find the daily fee's for Kids Club.
Save money as there are free activities during the day which are posted on a white piece of paper where you get your wrist bands. Free fish feedings, free child's craft, free movies in the theater, free bingo, free soccer, etc. Each day the free activities varies.
FunMomof1
No, the kids' club is an additional cost. However, it is definitely worth the cost ($60). Our 7 year old son had a fantastic time at both the afternoon and night camp.

Does the hotel have shuttle service to and from the airport?10 answers
If not do you recommend taking a taxi? What would be an estimated cost?
6 years, 84 months ago
pittsburgh
This resort does not offer free transportation. Round-Trip Airport Transfers can be pre-purchased prior to arrival for $45 per person.
KellyCC
Approximately $70 per person round trip. Be sure to book it with the booking for the trip.
TypicalMom
Don't pay for the expensive shuttle bus service that Cheap Caribbean offers. Take a taxi from the airport and back to the airport. We did this and saved us money. Right when you walk out of the Bahama's airport, there are 10 + taxi drivers waiting holding signs that say "TAXI" or "TAXI--we take credit cards". It cost us $38.00 (plus tip) for a taxi ride to Comfort Suites. The ride is about 30 minutes. While staying at Comfort Suites, we met a taxi driver who took us to Montague Garden restaurant (FREE taxi ride (we did tip) to and from restaurant. Hotel front desk must call a reservation in for you). Taxi driver is Oscar. We negotiated a deal with him--he gave us his cell number. Two days later he drove us back to the airport for $25.00 (plus tip)! I asked the front desk if I could "call my ride" and they let me use their phone for free. If you call local from your room, it is a .50 cent charge.
FunMomof1
They do not have a shuttle service. I would HIGHLY recommend using Sandra Ferguson's taxi service (242-525-8532, sexy_sanny@hotmail.com) We paid $54 each way for six of us, and the driver had no problem stopping for groceries and liqour on the way. We were originally quoted $60 for eight, but one couple dropped out. Very timely, very efficient, and she answers your emails extremely promptly!
SunLover79
Cheaper if you take a cab. Try jeremias taxi service we used them we were a total of 6 and the price was def. Much cheaper then any shuttle . And they are also very on time .
lindajrm
We rented a car because of the cost for a shuttle. The airport is about 10-12 miles from the hotel but in traffic can take almost an hour. There are plenty of taxi options too but they drive crazy! Not sure of the price. It was about $25 a day to rent a car.
Cass03
you have to pay extra for airport transfer service. but it is worth it.
theveteran33
I don't think the hotel has it's own shuttle, but you have the option to select round-trip shuttle service to and from the airport when you're booking your stay. The company is Majestic Tours, and it was very convenient - they were waiting for me (and others) at the airport and make frequent trips back to the airport when you're ready to leave.
sbjhawk81
The hotel does not have shuttle service but they have taxis and Majestic Tours has an agent inside the lobby and probably could help you out with transportation. We got our transportation through Cheap Caribbean (Majestic Tours) and it was easy.
ms300
No shuttle service at all. Taxi or limo is the only other alternative. We paid an average of $40.00 each way for 2 adults and 2 children with 4 pieces of luggage
obiwan1968
Yes and it is free. Cab fare will be close to $100.

how far is the hotel from the airport ? and how much would a taxi cab cost?10 answers
6 years, 84 months ago
chicago il
The resort is located 10 minutes from downtown Nassau, duty-free shopping and the straw market. Shops on Paradise Island is situated at Marina Village and Crystal Courts
Pricing is subject to change, but an average cab would be about $50.00 each way.
KristenCC
A cab would be more than $100 and they charge per person in the ride. I would opt for the shuttle. Be sure to book both ways.
TypicalMom
We did not pay for the shuttle service but choose to use taxi's. It is LESS expensive to use taxi's.
When we walked out of the Bahama's airport, there were at least 10+ taxi drivers with signs (TAXI--WE TAKE CREDIT CARDS) waiting for potential customers. We paid $38.00 (plus tip) for three of us to go from the airport to Comfort Suites. It is about a 30 min ride from the airport to the hotel.
We met a taxi driver while in Bahamas and negotiated a lower rate. He drove all three of us back to the airport for $25.00 plus tip!
Taxi's are easier, easily available, and less money than a shuttle service.
FunMomof1
Just got back from the Bahamas one day ago. Cab fare was $38 American plus you provide the $1 bridge toll going over to Paradise Island.
PawelFam
About 25 minutes away and depending on the people to have we were 6 and used jeremias taxi service the are great look up online they charged us 50 but we gave them 65. Def. Worth it. The pick u up and atke you back if you want and very ontime.
lindajrm
too far to walk! Taxi would very, but taxi's can get expensive, try to book Majestic tours for transfer, they were great.
VTonvacation
Comfort suites is about 30-45 minutes from the hotel depending on time of day. The cost is set by the government so you will not get ripped off. Currently its $32 usc from the airport to comfort suites for 2 people with their luggage. They charger about $6 dollars more per person over 2 with one piece of luggage each. Cheaper and quicker to use taxi rather then booking hotel transportation in advance. Will save half the cost using the taxi and you will not have to wait for the bus to load up with other travelers or wait for each traveler to be dropped off if their hotel is closer then yours. Hope that helped answer anyones question about taxi service
michtort22
We booked ahead with Fergies taxi service. It's about half an hour. It was $40 from airport and $35 back.
chachanewyork
It is about a 40 minute ride to the hotel from the Airport and I don't know how much it would cost for a taxi but I am sure it is more than what we paid through Cheap Caribbean for the round trip transportation.
ms300
about a 20-30 minute cab ride. Price averages around $40.00 US dollars. sometimes higher but you can haggle with them.

It's literally out the back door and across the street. No shuttle would ever be needed. Please elect to stay somewhere else or even go to another place. This location is beautiful, the service overall is hideous.
TypicalMom
No. The walk is about 3 minutes across the street. I do not think there is a shuttle.
alm23
Just came back from Comfort Suites Paradise Island, Bahamas. The walk from Comfort Suites to Atlantis is about 5-7 minutes. It is a nice walk. Leave Comfort Suites out their west exit. Cross the street. You then walk thru part of a shopping area (nice stores and restaurants) and into the casino area of Atlantis. Walk thru casino, down stairs to a counter to show your Comfort Suites ID card for a wrist band. Simple! Do plan on walking a lot. Atlantis is HUGE like Disney.
FunMomof1
We just got back from staying at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island, Bahamas one day ago. It is literally a 2-3 minute walk to the Atlantis casino and another 4-5 minute walk to the water park. It is also very well situated to all the Atlantis amenities and a very safe walk. I would highly recommend for the value.
PawelFam

No, not far at all. Less than 5 minutes, even if you're a slow walker. Everything is right there. The Atlantis resort is huge so wear comfortable shoes.
BahamasMama52
Comfort Suites is literally across the street from the royal towers. Even a slow walker can be in Atlantis in 5 minutes or less
michtort22
You walk out the back door of Comfort and basically across the street through the "bus" circle into the Royal Towers. You have to go through the casino, not very big, and down some stairs to get your wrist band every day. Not that far and once you know where it is it is easy to do every day.
chachanewyork
It is just across the street and only a couple of minutes walk. If you don't want to walk through the hotel you can take the shuttle from the Beach Towers over to the Royal Towers to get in to Atlantis pools.
ms300
VERY short walk. less than 1/4 mile to get in the Atlantis but.........everything after that...beaches, pools etc.....is a far walk. Even if you stayed in the Atlantis itself its a long walk to them. It cant be helped. Atlantis is HUGE!

They Beers here seem to be pretty basic stuff. Lots of Bahama made beers like sand ,kalik, bush crack nothing to write home about. Some imports like bud, miller and hieneken again probably nothing he would like. Saw some Sam Adams in the liquer store next to comfort suites. No micro brews as far as I could find. Best beer I had the week in Atlantis was at Virgils bbq It was called The Atlantis Ale I think , darker beer with some flavor. Virgils has a selection of 21 different beers best I found on the trip. But the food was just OK. Hope this was helpful Cheers ! !

son is 11 years old and wants to swim with the dolphins,. now my question is do I have to do the excursion also (I really don't want) but can myself and my 17 year old just go to watch him and if so will they charge us a fee to just observe and if so what is the cost.
6 years, 76 months ago
kimupdy
I know I would have had to go w/ my 7 year old, but can't remember the cut-off age. I think the add-on excursions on the website states all that. I was told by a fellow traveler that her grandkids did the Dolphin Experience (?) and she thought it was better (and cheaper) than the swim - dolphins kiss you and you can hug them - and she was able to watch at no charge.
TikiCurse
The Swim with the Dolphins excursion in which we offer does have age restrictions. Ages 5 or younger are not allowed in program, but can go free as observers as long as accompanied by an adult paying observer. No baby-sitting services are provided. Ages 6 - 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult, either family member or guardian (of at least 19 years of age), who partakes in the same swim session. Guests ages 4-17 may participate as a paid observer on the dock as long as they are accompanied by a responsible, paying adult with an observer ticket.
MariaCC
There is an age minimum where they require an adult to accompany the child. Check the website of where you are going. The one we did offered an observer package. That was Dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon Island. If you are still not sure, call them. They all tend to be friendly and helpful.
SherryT
No, You can go to Dolphin Clay in Atlantis. he can swim you can watch.
MrMyvegas
I did the dolphin encounter at Atlantis and they did not charge a fee for observing and your son would be able to do it as we'll!
GabrielaM
I just got back and my sister wanted to do the same thing. We booked with Dolpin Encounters thru the hotel. She chose this because 1) it was a lot cheaper than Atlantis' event 2) there was more value for the money because you went by boat to Blue Lagoon Island 3) it made the day more special.
As an "observer" i'd have to pay $15 to join her at Atlantis, but i'd be so far away from her that i wouldn't see anything or be able to take pictures. The beach there isn't for swimming, so it's hot and you can't do anything but watch.
It cost me $25 for the Blue Lagoon trip, but again, a boat trip on that gorgeous water and a day on a private uncrowded island. I was able to join her during the orientation & be close enough on an observation deck to take pictures of her and almost participate with her during her dolphin activity.
We rented snorkel gear, brought lunch and made a day of it.
For us, it was just a better option. If you're short on time or have a busy schedule this might not be the best choice for you. They are on the internet to research too.
eurogirl
Due to the weather, we did the dolphin excursion at the Atlantis. From what we witnessed you can just go and watch if you choose to, but I would suggest doing this with your child, we were pleasantly surprised and you go waist deep or deep water side.

I tried to book 4-5 nights in February for 2 adults and one 8 yr old child, but the total seems to add up for 3 people, so the child was also charged. Is there a special promo code for kids to stay free?

6 years, 74 months ago

The child is added in and then the price is divided between 3 people (1 child and 2 adults) to reflect the price per person to include the “kids stay free package” already. If you would like to test this you can try pricing out 3 adults and the price will be higher.
LizCC
We were there from March 28 - April 3 and our two kids stayed free.

The promo "Kids stay for free" is a special offered sometimes. You just need to get that promotion when it's offered. They have other promotions at different resorts & places. 5 years, 72 months ago
Pam
Yes, it does matter. You can only bring the number of people that you book and children are included in your reservation. They will not let you bring more people into the resort then you have accounted for on your reservation, even if they are children.
LizCC
Paradise Island or the Bahamas in General has a law that limits the number of people who can share a hotel room to 4.
Droxer
First of all, this would be extremely uncomfortable, the room is not large enough to accommodate that many people. If you plan to use the Atlantis facilities, you will only be issued enough bands for registered guests. Every exit door to the pool area and beach access checks your wrist band. If you are really on that tight of a budget, consider cruising. Nothing in the Bahamas is cheap!
Leenycay
I WOULD NOT HAVE THAT MANY PEOPLE INONE ROOM TOO SMALL.
Psyche
When you book your trip thru CheapCarribean.com, especially with airfare, you have to enter in all the travelers. I don't know how you can get around with sneaking in 2 kids. And where would everyone sleep? We were offered a King bed and a sofa pull out which was very uncomfortable for the adults. My 8 & 10 yr old slept on it and they still complained. You can pay an extra $30/day for 2 full beds. From what I have learned, you're better off trying not to beat the system, you may get caught and be thrown out. Don't risk it on vacation. It's not worth it.
AnaK

We have a 38 lb well trained dog is there a room which will allow him
5 years, 71 months ago
Tim
This resort does not allow pets.
BethCC
Sorry, I don't know. We did not check into that. I suggest emailing or calling the Comfort Suites to verify their rules. That info is also most probably online.
JimRich
I did not see any dogs at this hotel. You could call them direct.
CHAR354
i didn't see any pets i don't believe this hotel allow pets
MrsOsborne
Not sure but since the rooms are tight I would not advise it. We left our 8 lb dog at the kennel.

Do any of the rooms have a balcony?8 answers
5 years, 70 months ago
Indianapolis, IN
The rooms we offer for this property do not have a walkable patio/balcony area. If you wish to book a room that does, please call us at 1.800.915.2322 to assist you in your request.
SamCC
The room we stayed in did not have a balcony but did have sliding doors that opened with a railing outside which made for a better view of the area. We didn't spend much time in our room as there was so much to see outside.
Varina
No, there are no rooms with balcony
Alex73
Some rooms by the pool have a balcony. Some rooms by the pool on the first floor have a patio. I do not know what type of rooms (King or Double) these are though.
AshburnHokie
you don't want a balcony...ground floor best
bizzy
yes they have balconies
MrsOsborne
no rooms have a balcony and you can not see the ocean at all from the comfort suites.
sadd
No they don't
Nicole11111
Honestly not too sure, depending on what room you paid for. But most rooms if not all from what I saw had a sliding door that you could open and lean on the rail. Not a balcony per say since your standing in your room still leaning out.

Anytime that doesn't include a holiday or June through end of October.
Elmom12
The peak season is from December to May with the lowest average amounts of rain and traditionally comfortable temperatures.
LizCC
Anytime of year is good!
Bellevilled
We went the last week of April into May. It is the end of the "dry season" per the locals. There were NO CROWDS. We barely waited for anything at Atlantis or at the airport.
Pennypincher123
not hurricane season...aug-nov.
rain comes and goes quickly if at all balmy
bizzy
We went in mid-May. The weather was beautiful and sunny in the high 70's and low 80's. We understand the high season is Dec to April so it was nice being a little outside the busiest time of year. There were not huge crowds and no lines or wait times for attractions.

BethCC
YES, you have to make a reservation, but it is included and ALOT of fun!
EHHTEXCHICK
Yes, however they are closed on Wednesday and Sunday and you must sign up ahead of time. My son did not get to go. There are plenty of slides, splashers jungle gym - in the water, lazy river, raging rapid water ride... I would not let this be a deal breaker, more icing on the cake.
Leenycay
I don't know i was there on my honeymoon I didn't pay attention to the kids stuff
MrsOsborne
yes it is included... you only get 20 minutes to do it though

no..you have to pay extra.

The Comfort Suite is walking distance to the Atlantis. Literally right next door. The longest walk was thru the Atlantis to the Cove Beach. We stayed at the Sun pool after that. It was closer to the slides.

Can Comfort Suites Paradise Island be upgraded to all inclusive5 answers
Comfort Suites Paradise Island
Bahamas - Paradise Island Our Rating Details
7 Nights with Air from $1,177 – Breakfast included.
** Is there anyway this can be upgraded to all inclusive? And if so what would be the new price***
Thank You, Sandra Coglio
4 years, 59 months ago
Comfort Suites Paradise Island
No, Comfort Suites Paradise Island does not offer all inclusive vacation packages. There are very few all inclusive resorts in the Bahamas.
KristenCC
No. Even though they offer an American Breakfast included (scrambled eggs, waffles, toast, sausage, cereal, juice, coffee, Danish, bagels, fresh fruit, milk) they are not set up to be all inclusive. There are several options close by for lunch/dinner/supper.
lfbusinesswoman
No. Only breakfast included. Try not to eat at hotel or ATLANTIS as most places include taxes and 15% gratuity no EXCEPTION!!!! WE BOUGHT pizza from Anthony's for 18.00 vs. the Marina for 50.00!!!
Beachlover121
We just got back and I don't believe if you are staying at Comfort Suites which is where we stayed that you can get an all inclusive. I don't think you would want to either. You are in walking distance to all kinds of food/drinks/etc.

Do you have a room for a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children under 12 years old?3 answers
4 years, 58 months ago
Chicago
Currently no rooms that we offer at this property will accommodate more than 4 people. 2 rooms would need to be booked. Please call us at 1-800-915-2322 if you need assistance.
CCGreg
If you were to book a room with 2 double beds, there is also a pullout couch. You could conceivably sleep 5, but it's pretty close quarters. We are a family of 4 and find it tight with only one bathroom, but my kids are 12 & 14 years. There is an additional $30 fee per night to guarantee a room with 2 doubles though, so be prepared to pay the additional fee.
Sheriff8617
Our room had a king bed and a sofa bed. All open, not separate rooms.
Mathman73
Do the rooms have a kitchen?5 answers
I was wondering if the hotel rooms had a kitchen of some sort. It'd be great to be able to cook your own food on nights you don't want to go to a restaurant.
4 years, 58 months ago
New York
Rooms do NOT come equipped with kitchen/kitchenette.
CCGreg
Not that I saw. They had a pull out sofa with like a living room area, but no kitchen.
wwNH
I don't believe the hotel offers rooms with a kitchen. If they did, I surely would have booked one. Lol. I brought a toaster oven with us and I asked hotel to provide my room with a complimentary microwave. My daughter has severe food allergies, so eating out, is not an option. We did fine with our toaster oven and the microwave. It's amazing the food you can prepare. Hope this helped. Enjoy your vacation:)

Meal Passes may possibly be sold by Atlantis directly. To find out more information about this resort, please call us at 1.800.915.2322.
SamCC
There are no meal tickets at Atlantis, but you can charge to your room or credit card.
Psi00
I'm not aware of any meal plans but fill up on your free breakfast at comfort suites because food at all surrounding venues is very expensive.
Oceansofblue4
Not sure what you mean about meal tickets in Atlantis.
They have fast food in the park itself or you can come back to comfort suites and eat at their restaurant or at Anthony's right across the street. The same for dinner. There are no meal packages available . Comfort suites offers complementary breakfast buffet.0
