The worst experience I have ever had encountered.
My husband and I love taking our kids on a family vacation every year and we usually pick the DR. This year we picked Cofresi (at the time the reviews weren’t bad and I thought because it was a bigger resort there would be a lot of entertainment and restaurants. The minute we got to the resort it went downhill from the check in. The front desk was horrible to deal with. We called almost everyday before hand to confirm we had conjoining rooms. (We get 3 rooms as I have some older kids) if there all couldnt be conjoined we asked for at least one just because I had daughters in one room. And of that wasn’t an option at least on the same floor. We travelled with another family and because we have younger kids I thought it would be nice of we at least could be closer to hang out at night when we put them to bed. So that obviously didn’t happen. They had us all on different floors and even in completely different areas from one another. As we went to the rooms only to find out they only have wifi in one point on the room (wouldn’t even work if you went in the bathroom) we had a look around the rooms and we were disgusted to see how outdated they all were. 1. Every room had mold EVERYWHERE. 2. My daughter’s room window handle was completely rotted off. As we were standing there the panels all fell off leaving their room completely open. 3. My son’s room didn’t have a frame around the glass door and almost fell on them as they opened it. 4. Our sliding door had a huge gap in it so even if it was closed it wasn’t fully closed. 5. One room had no hot water and you couldn’t control the temperature so it was so cold. The air quality was so terrible. When we went to the front desk to ask for a different room they could not of cared less. I even said please put us in a room where I can at least put my daughters with me and the woman looks at me and says.. they aren’t children so they are fine… I don’t care if they are 40! That’s so unsafe and crazy to be told that. They did nothing. Everyday we spend hours going back and forth and got nothing. The amount of people we met there and they had it way worse. Which is crazy to even imagine. Get ready for the amount of stairs there are too. If you have strollers or wheelchairs do not go here! The shuttles are horrible. They have one going around every 45 mins. And you are like fighting your way on one. There was no chairs on the beach so get ready for the work out of dragging beach chairs around and that’s if there’s even chairs. No umbrellas. THE FOOD…….O.M.G if you don’t care to eat this place is for you. We got food poisoning the second night there. We had 6 kids with us and 3 adults and we literally starved. The staff acted like we were bothering them if we needed a drink. We had to book excursions just to leave the resort. This was the worst experience of my life and one I would like to forget. Money wasted. No relaxing. We are actually going home more stressed then we could have ever imagined.

Not off to a good start
Currently at Cofresi. We were here in 2023 for 2 weeks with no issues. Arrived yesterday. Our room was missing a few items in the checklist reception gives you so we made sure to go back up to the reception to tell them. About 6 hours later after enjoying the afternoon we went back to our room to find the air conditioning did not work. Went to the front desk and was told someone would come fix it. No one came. 30 degrees in the room today. Back to reception at 4pm as told to do last night. Was told to come back at 7pm tonight, waited around in lobby for 45 minutes for a bell boy apparently to switch us rooms, we could have done it ourselves but apparently it is the policy. After finding this out found the bellboy myself in less than 5 minutes. Switched to a new room. New room also has no air conditioning, is leaking from the ceiling in the bathroom, toilet was sealed that it had been cleaned and there is someone’s poop stain in it and also have no hand towels, foot towel and no face clothes. Called from desk after waiting 2 hours for air conditioning to kick in. Either someone is supposed to come here or call here. I couldn’t really understand but I am really hoping this gets rectified. People should get what is advertised and what they pay for at the minimum. Bell boy was fantastic. I will update this as the situation unfolds. Not a good start to our two weeks here.

Deeply Concerned Before Arrival . Solo Female Traveler Feeling Unsafe And discourage
I haven’t even arrived yet, and I’m already heartbroken and discouraged. This trip was supposed to be my escape after an extremely hard year, but everything I’m reading has left me feeling unsafe instead of excited. What shocks me most is that the same issues mentioned in reviews from 2015 are still being reported in 2025 to 2026.!! bugs in rooms, conjoining doors, rooms that don’t lock properly, and basic maintenance problems. When the exact same complaints continue for nearly a decade, it doesn’t feel like a resort that listens, cares, or improves. These are not small inconveniences. These are safety concerns, especially for a property advertised as 4 stars. My disappointment actually started before I even saw the reviews. When I tried to book the Junior Suite, TripCentral attempted to process it even though it wasn’t actually available. I was later told there was no availability at all. That was my first red flag and it made me question how organized and transparent the booking process really is. I’m a woman traveling alone for the first time in my life. I should be feeling supported, safe, and excited. Instead, I’m worried about being placed in a room that isn’t secure, or one with a conjoining door, or one that doesn’t lock even the patio door's not locking. properly. I also have mobility issues and need to avoid excessive stairs, but based on the reviews, I’m scared those needs will be ignored too. Right now, I’m counting down the days with anxiety instead of joy. I booked this trip to get away from stress . not walk into a new version of it. I truly hope management can address these concerns before I arrive, because I deserve to feel safe and respected on my vacation.

Do Not Recommend - Do Not Go
I visited Confesi in the end of Jan 2026 - 2 couples. Upon entering our room it had a very musty smell, because we have visited south many times we know this can be normal, sometimes the room have not been used etc, it normally goes away, but in this case we found out why.. Come morning, we found out there were many stairs to get to the lobby / buffet, in one day we counted 300 stairs - no where when booking were we warned. If you have any mobility issues, please Do Not Go.. Apart from the stairs the first few days were passable, Come the Tuesday I took a shower to discover we were left NO towels, this after leaving a genrous tip, I picked up the phone to call reception, the phone does not work. Once we made it back up to reception, we told them about the towels and phone and yes they sent towels. The next day, our room keys did not work, we had to make our way back up the stairs to reception, one key was programmed and the girl was having issues programming the other, a colleague came behind her and with my minimal Spanish I undertood enough that she told her, they have one key, just give it to them... and that is exactly what she did.. the 2nd key never worked. I did not argue since they were going to say I misunderstood, but we had the proof, the card didn't work. Day 3, we were left no coffee in our room, pick up the phone, it still didn't work. We go back to reception and tell them, to which they say we will send someone. It rained that day, we got back to our room to find it flooded, and this I am sure was not the first time this has happened - the musty smell... It took them 2 hours to change our room.. we got to bed at 2am There is 1 coffee machine at the bar near reception if you want espresso or cappucino - 1.. this did not work all week, therefore we did not have access to espresso all week because we were not VIP, only VIP members, we were told this by the staff. Sorry you are not VIP, I cannot serve you an espresso! If you wanted to change your beach towels, you HAD to go down to the beach, although there was a room near the pool that was near the reception, this was closed all week, only open on weekends. If you are not VIP or interested in buying a timeshare, you are a 2nd class citizen, the staff has very little time for you. The resort caters to them, if they have time they will get to you. The septic tank overflowed while we were there, it smelled of sewer for days. They request that you do not flush the paper in the toilet, I went in the bathroom a few times to find the waste basket full.. so therefore they want us to sit beside other peoples waste? Upon my return I emailed Lifestyle Resorts customer service email to let them know of my experience, I have yet to receive any reply, I am guessing they do not care either. Good Point - The food was good, and the staff in the buffet were the only good service we got all week.
