Coconut Court was very nice

First time in Barbados and after researching where to stay we came up with the Coconut Court Hotel. We asked and received a top floor room with king bed and coffee maker, the view from room 87 was great. The Hotel sits on the southwest part of the Island so you can enjoy sitting on the balcony late afternoons without the HOT sun beaming down on you. We enjoyed having Breakfast and Dinner a few times at the Deck restaurant, and also a few lunch's at the beach bar. Overall employees seemed very friendly and the Hotel is situated on the main road so its easy to grab a bus or one of the ZR's vans, which cost $1.00 US dollar per person per trip. Would recommend this Island and Hotel to friends we had a nice time.

Don't expect luxury

The beach water was great for temperature but the break water kept the water level at waist high. Tons of rock in the water you have to step over to get in and some are sharp. The biggest ripoff are the beach towels. The first issue is free of one per person but they wanted $5. US per towel to replace them regardless of how often you wanted replacement. Rooms has good AC and adequate ceiling fan. Rooms are very out dated but clean. Breakfast deals are not a deal. Very limited menu for meals. Specials were cancelled frequently for no reason. The pirate punch has a reason for being free in your room, no one would actually buy it after tasting it. But your gifts and souvenirs in Bridgetown not the hotel or at the Friday night fish fry in caisos. Use the local buses for transportation at $1 US per person. Avoid Sizzler Steak house, Tapas and Shakers. All have heavy negatives. Our goal was scuba diving and we used West Side scuba. Prices were reasonable compared to others. The hotel dive recommendations were considerably higher. Dive team was great and diving in the south on the east side is the best for life and turtles. Overall Trip was good. Would recommend staying near Carlisle beach where the beach is perfectly maintained and no rocks and gets as deep as you want. Also great for snorkeling. Be aware some locations don't accept credit cards, cash only.

Very nice and quaint

I enjoyed this hotel. It was small, and intimate and conveniently located near shops and restaurants which is convenient for those who do not have a meal plan. Overall, I gave it 4 stars, mainly because it is clean and staff is friendly, however it is near the road so you do get the noise from the road so trying to sleep in late is a no no unless you are a very deep sleeper and have the AC running to cover the noise. The beach is fantastic, lots of shade from the coconut trees and loungers. I cannot comment on the dining since I ate no meals here. There is one restaurant and a bar area and a sports bar across the road that belongs to the hotel. If you're looking for some good chinese food, try the Dragon restaurant located in the mall up the street. Its a strip mall just before you get to KFC. A piece of advice- do not buy the chicken fried rice from the Red Star Chinese restaurant up the street. I bought that based on the reviews for the place and had to throw it away, the rice was soft and it really did not taste well at all, very disappointed and a waste of money. The room was nice and comfortable, cable TV, a sink, fridge and microwave. One recommendation I do have which I saw in another's review was to add a shelf in the shower as there is no room for placing your soap or other things. I would also recommend changing the type of soaps provided in the room as I did not like the smell of them. Overall, I would recommend the hotel, you do get value for your money. The bus stop is also located right outside, so travel is easy.

3 day stay

For the few days I was there, I was pleased. The view was beautiful, as it was right in front/behind the beach. The hotel was clean and pleasant. There is an office to help you find activities to do on the island. However, i found my own activities. So I barely stayed in the hotel. There is a restaurant on the premises, there are different events for different days. I ate at the restaurant once, but I didn't care for the food i ordered and found it a lil' bit expensive for the quality, even if it was in Barbadian dollar (just my opinion). There are a couple of other restaurants nearby to try. I would recommend this hotel and return next year.

What's to Love

Coconut Court Beach Hotel sits on a great section of the beach with loungers and shade from the coconut trees. There's even a reef that offers amazing snorkeling in shallow water, so the kids can snorkel too.

What We'd Change

There are a few stones mixed with the sand in sections of the beach. It's worth taking flip flops and perhaps a pair of water shoes.

Why You Should Go

If value, comfort and beachfront accommodations are important, this resort is perfect for you. Best of all, it's a very eco-friendly place as well.
