Great Value. You Get what you Pay for.

This is a Great Value Resort. I would send a friend who was looking for a good time with a Friendly Staff, Above Average Food, four of seven nights of great entertainment, Spacious rooms with cool A/C and Hot Water with good pressure, Some of the Bars are a little limited on premium liquor but selection is average with some resorts we have been to. When in Rome,, Drink the RUM. Or ask for a Strong As. The Pool area Grill and Pizza oven are the best, Sit in the courtyard at the Pizza Oven and get waited on or use the grill for one of the best Burgers in the Caribbean. No thin paddy, be ready for a half pounder here. We thought we had paid for an upgrade when switching to the Mountain View room with larger balcony but with a little smaller room size. Don't get me wrong. The room was spacious and had a walk in closet with separate cosmetic lavatory and separate Shower/Toilet closet. Large Dresser and side table for storage. Large TV and mini fridge. The one complaint we have was the view we paid extra for and feel is a sham. We paid for the Mountain View because it was advertised that all rooms as having a balcony and assumed with our experience, have found that the first floor rooms in most resorts have walk out patios which we don't care for. So to avoid the walk out patio we opted for an upper floor and when you go up one floor in this resort it is considered an upgrade on the Mountain side and another upgrade to face the ocean. What we ended up with was a view of the Entrance and Parking lot so low in the resort that the view was of the Palms tops, Not much of the mountain tops are ever visible. This was the exact same type room and view my in-laws were staying in called a Premier. We spent the better part of two hours the second day with the front desk and the best offer we could get was to be charged for another upgrade to be placed in a Premier room. I would be charged two upgrades for a Premier? Two days later an offer to move two floors up. By that time we were well settled into our room and declined the offer. Something we are not accustomed to was the extra services for tips or additional charges with meals. What I refer to is the Wine list offerings at dinner time. A large list of very fine wines is offered before each dinner at an extra price. What we found out was that you could also get a house wine included with the meal at no extra cost. This was never mentioned at the time of the list offering. Tipping then became an issue. Although it is not mandatory to tip for every day services such as drinks at the pool or better seats and quicker service, it is evident that it helps. Not what we expected. BTW Tipping the maids did little as we were shorted shampoo and washcloths and were only requiring every other day service. We never left them to pick up the room before the cleaning either. Everything was off the counters and floors and our room is always ready to clean. Overall this resort is pretty well maintained with fresh painting and cleaning constantly going on. Grounds crews are trimming and gathering fallen leaves. There are very few trash cans here. Don't miss out on the Pool Bar at Night. A very romantic restful place while the entertainment in the Bling is really loud. Boys in the Bling need to lower the Volume and make the music CRISP and clean without the reverb and feedback risk. You have great equipment but turn it down a bit. It's to much for the room. The Beach Has perfect sand and plenty of chairs for the number of guests we had during our stay. Take a catamaran ride or water trike. It's a blast.

Amazing!

My husband and I visited this resort Oct. 28-Nov. 3.We stayed in the Harmony side of the resort and only used the harmony (adults only) pool and part of the beach. This was the most amazing vacation I've ever been on! This was my husbands first time at an all inclusive resort and my 3-4th. The staff was friendly and greeted us with drinks when we arrived from the shuttle. It is very close to the airport, which was so nice. We had a basic room and it was very clean and comfortable. My ONLY compliant would be that we could not turn the thermostat below like 72 degrees, which was totally fine during the day, but I like to turn it down at night (no big deal). Beaches are clean and the longing area is amazing and so relaxing. Bar service is great! We did two excursions (private island tour and catamaran to snorkeling), the excursions were just as amazing. We had a great time exploring. I will say that this resort has the BEST FOOD I've ever had!! We loved the buffet! The food was so fresh and DELICIOUS! I'm so glad we booked with Coconut Bay. I cannot wait to go back!!

Enjoyable

Coconut Bay had good food, good drinks, and the service was excellent. My children enjoyed the kid's club. Great place for pool lovers. Not a great place for beach lovers. The beach is covered with seaweed and the water is rough. If the tide rises than the beach disappears, but the resort has excursions to the other side of the island that provides crystal clear and calm waters. I would recommend this location.

Excellent honeymoon

We had a very good time, for a very affordable price. The shining point was probably the staff, always there to help, and even had a meeting to recommend other activities we were interested in. The most unexpected part was our arrival a day late because of flight problems. They resort extended our stay by a day because we missed the first day, which was above and beyond, but unfortunately we did not find out until checkout, so we had no time to take advantage and change flights The beach was not ideal because of the position of the resort on the Atlantic, but they had great pools and had a shuttle to a beach on the Caribbean side that was much better. Food at the main restaurant was hit or miss, with some being great and other meals not as good, but the restaurants requiring reservations were amazing.

Hotel Description

Coconut Bay Resort and Spa St. Lucia: Get Two Resorts in One

Nestled among swaying palms in an 85-acre enclave, Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa St. Lucia is really two hotels in one. One wing, called Harmony, is reserved for couples and romance. Splash is the lighthearted name for the other, which is devoted to families and home to Cocoland, St. Lucia's largest water park. All guests are treated like royalty in this all-inclusive resort featuring one mile of gorgeous beach and 4 pools at the southern end of St Lucia.

Experience cherished moments with your sweetie each day on the Harmony side of the hotel. Lying side-by-side on intimate daybeds, or sharing special moments in the adults-only pool, you and your honey can enjoy a second honeymoon. Over at the Splash part of the hotel, it's the delighted squealing of kids having fun that warms your heart, as they cascade down one the resort's two water slides. Make enduring family memories as you challenge them to paintball or explore the area to learn about the island. If you want to take a walk on the wild side, guests also have free admission to the Coco Coral Petting Zoo where they can interact with the resort's goats, ducks and sheep!

You'll want to take advantage of the cornucopia of spa treatments available at Kai Mer Spa. Couples love the Champagne and Chocolate Package, busy moms can indulge with the Seaweed Wrap restorative and the Teen's Escape massage and facial or the Island Exotica Sugar Buff exfoliating skin treatment is perfect for your teenagers.

Four restaurants are ready to assuage your hunger after a full day of fun. Rattan chairs and Chinese lanterns add an Oriental note to Silk, where you might choose fish in black-bean sauce for your main course, followed by sticky-rice pudding. When you hanker for the flavors of Caribbean cuisine, Calabash has the best jerk entrees to put the kibosh on hunger.

About a mile away visit the 17th-century French Vieux Fort, and a little farther to the south, the Vieux Fort Lighthouse. Take a short drive up the western side of the island to the widely acclaimed Diamond Falls. Then retreat to a comfortable room to get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
