Excellent experience!

We booked this last minute trip and had an absolute blast. I tend to avoid all-inclusive resorts and typically prefer to book a hostel and explore on my own. This trip was perfect for what we wanted - a relaxing, stress-free getaway. The DR is filled with polite, welcoming people and the service was really great. The rooms were comfortable (we got talked into upgrading to a room with a private pool and didn't regret it). The pool and beach locations were plentiful so it wasn't difficult or stressful to find a place to hang out. I as impressed with the layout of the space - it was lush and tropical and didn't have overwhelming towers with a million rooms. My only two negative comments are these, and I will say that they did not really affect our overall experience as we were there to just laugh and swim and have a good time, but knowing in advance helps with expectations: 1. The breakfast and lunch food was pretty bad. I recommend upgrading to privilege if you can and eating at the beach bar for breakfast, which was slightly better than the buffet. The lunch was just pretty disappointing all around but, again, we weren't on a culinary adventure so we were fine with it. 2. The beach is not as good as other places on the island. We visited Juanillos beach on an excursion and the beaches are beautiful with crystal clear waters. The beaches at the hotel were a bit murky and filled with seaweed, but again, this did not really make the experience negative, just something to note when you are making a booking. We did an excursion on the VIP tour with Scape Park to Juanillos beach and Hoyo Azul. It was the highlight of the trip, we had a blast. It included a catamaran ride to snorkel and a floating beach bar, then to the beach where we had around 3 hours to swim, kayak, paddle board, and have lunch which was delicious. You can choose between lobster, steak, chicken, fish, or vegetarian. We then went to the Hoyo Azul pool which is absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended.

Would not stay again

The food was not good whatsoever, especially the room service. We had to get a room change after several incidents in our first room, only to be met with more issues in the second room. The water was extremely dirty, making it unappealing to swim in. We will not be returning nor recommending this place to anyone. The only plus I can give this place is their staff was incredible.

Could have been better

Place it’s beautiful, good food options. I guess you can never go wrong with a buffet; however, the à la carte places were okay, there are several bars through the place. It only had two pools (bummer) but you had the option to go to the other side (family friendly side) and join a third (and bigger) pool. The beach was nice, however lots of seaweed (the last resort I had stayed really tried to keep it clean, not this one). Service was okay, some of them were absolutely amazing people, warm, welcoming while others were not. One night we called room services and took about 20 minutes and a call to the lobby to be able to get through, and when I did the person on the other side hung up on me. The room itself was okay, except the toilet duck didn’t work properly and the headboard was filthy.

Nice beach and service but subpar room

This was our first trip to Punta Cana and my husband and I had a good time overall. The resort was nice with a lovely beach and wonderful service. Our room was not that great, the air conditioning unit was leaking water, it was very difficult to control the temperature in the room and our room was very muggy. One thing to add, although this is not cheap Caribbean’s fault, the resort is full of scammers trying to sell “better” time share options and unfortunqtely we got suckered into it. Other visitors BEWARE of Exclusive Travelers Club. They offer charming deals that end up being a complete rip off and this completely tainted our pleasant vacation. If I knew that this resort allowed these types of companies to pray on their visitors, I would have never stayed there.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive Dominican dream escape.

Chillaxing at the infinity pool with shaded, cushy loungers & hammocks on the beach.

The self-serve Bloody Marys and mimosas at breakfast.

Escaping via the spa: massages by the sea, Turkish baths and sauna.

What We'd Change

Casino Punta Cana closes at midnight, but the resort's club, Cats, and the bar by the pool are both open late for night owls.

Why You Should Go

It's 20 miles from the Punta Cana airport. Vacay cocktails will appear pronto.

Two gorgeous golf courses designed by Alberto Sola are near.

If you're up for meeting up with Lady Luck, there's a casino onsite.

Soana Island is an aahmazing excursion and is relatively near. So worth it.
