Great Value, Only A Couple Small Issues

Pros: Great drink choices, restaurants were very good, service was great, and pools were high quality. Cons: Beach and ocean were full of seaweed due to recent storm but not the resort's fault. Catamaran was "free" but required an expensive lesson which we weren't told about. Found one cockroach in room on last night. Were told that reservations weren't required but Japanese restaurant was full when we went (ended up going earlier next night and got in).

best resort

the resort is very clean, staff very friendly, room comfortable and spacious. no bugs at all. air condition very good. free wifi but limited, outside the room or restaurant does not work. a lot of restaurant options. beach sand is good and a lot of chairs but the water is terrible. smells bad because of the algae.i upgraded my room which gave me a private pool. thank you god because is impossible to get a chair at the pool unless u go there really early and save a spot for later, which i don't think is right. but the pools are nice and big. the adults only side is nice but more quiet. the family side is more fun. if u are in the adults only side like me, u still can used the family side amenities. which give you plenty of choices. the food is good, you don't need reservation for the restaurants. i tried to go to a different one every night. here are the ones that i went: The steak house " the Rodeo": very good but i thought it was like a churrascaria where the meat comes to your table. its a la carte menu. the food is good but no side dishes. i asked for a barbecue ribs and just came the ribs and a little basket of french fries. but u can always ask for something else if you are still hungry. The Caribbean "yuca": the worst restaurant. long wait to be seated. long wait for the food, and the food is not good at all. very tiny portion. my husband asked for a pork with yuca puree. came a little piece of meat, literally a spoon of puree and a 3/4 of a green banana. that is it. Mikado: Japanese Hibachi style. very good , food is delicious. but go early to get as pot. Gran caribe: buffet style. my main restaurant. a lot of different food stations, food for all tastes including children. lot of fruits and salads. Sea Blue: by the infinity pool. outside. very good too. but just at lunch time. Cata Tapa.: more romantic. a lot of couples, very good food. but like the name says is tapa only which means very small portions again. And my favorite Thalassa: the best restaurant of all that i went. the breakfast is amazing. with champagne and caviar for those who likes. but a variety of good choices for breakfast. Buffet at AM and a la carte for lunch and dinner. All restaurants observe the dress code for dinner time, no shorts on them with exception of the buffet. be prepared to give tips. i brought 200 in one dollars bill to tip them. u don't have to if you don't want but i suggested that u compensate for the good job that they do. be aware of people trying to sell membership and etc.. they are nice but they involve you in a way that u agree with everything. if you dont want to buy any extra just be firm and say NO. over all i had a very good experience and i will definitely return and i recommend this resort. dont forget to book your round trip transportation back and forth to the airport and to check in the night before your trip, it saves you a lot of time. oh and everything is very expensive at the hotel stores, so try not to forget anything.

Best honeymoon

Definitely best decision to select our honeymoon destination through cheap Caribbean. Our trip was so organized and the hotel was beautiful. You can definitely upgrade once you get there. The resort was nice and quiet then at times a great party with adults from all over the world. We also did the marinarium RECOMMEND IT! the fact that you have a rep at all times definitely helps

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive Dominican dream escape.

Chillaxing at the infinity pool with shaded, cushy loungers & hammocks on the beach.

The self-serve Bloody Marys and mimosas at breakfast.

Escaping via the spa: massages by the sea, Turkish baths and sauna.

What We'd Change

Casino Punta Cana closes at midnight, but the resort's club, Cats, and the bar by the pool are both open late for night owls.

Why You Should Go

It's 20 miles from the Punta Cana airport. Vacay cocktails will appear pronto.

Two gorgeous golf courses designed by Alberto Sola are near.

If you're up for meeting up with Lady Luck, there's a casino onsite.

Soana Island is an aahmazing excursion and is relatively near. So worth it.
