A Vacation Dream

My boyfriend and I stayed at Catalonia La Romana for a week and overall, we were both extremely satisfied with our experience! The staff is phenomenal. They are so friendly and willing to have a conversation with you. They seem to be very genuine and want you to enjoy your stay. The room we stayed in was a Garden View room. It was very quaint and cozy. It was cleaned each day and fridge was restocked with water bottles. No complaints there as we did not spend much time in the hotel room anyway. The food was great! We loved that there was a buffet and a few specialty restaurants that we could choose from. We were not fans of the restaurant ticket system to keep track of our limited visits to each restaurant. We were okay with only being able to eat at each specialty restaurant once, just found the ticket system to be annoying. Also, we saved our last specialty restaurant option for the last night of our stay and that restaurant happened to be closed that night (no one warned us) which was disappointing. The beach was a dream. The ocean was beautiful and we took a dip each day of our week long stay. We had delicious drinks from the beach bar where you can also get fresh, delicious crepes. The pool was great as well. Our biggest complaint is the constant, loud "entertainment". All day, on the beach, at the pool, a group of entertainers break into the same song and dance routine. It was fun on the first day but quickly got old. It was very annoying on days where we wanted to lay on the beach and read. We did however, enjoy the shows and events they held each night. Overall it was a great experience and we will likely upgrade to the "adults-only" section of the resort next time.

Very fun vacay

My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and really enjoyed it! We stayed in the privileged honeymoon room and it was very nice. The food was decent and the service was usually good. The beach and water were absolutely beautiful. We have never done all-inclusive before so it was a nice treat for us. If you go- definitely spend a little extra and be a priviledged guest. It is well worth it.

Very Disappointed

I did not know about the 3 classes Standard , exclusive, privileged we was Standard and we were made to feel that way by the staff and places we could not go. one side of the beach and dinning for exclusive or privileged the other for standard . we were harassed by exclusive staff members to by upgrade or time share. my husband and I just wanted to relax. the entertainment was repeatedly the same and amateur not worth staying up for and it was all in Spanish 95% of the staff could not speak English . I could not wait to leave this resort . room was out- dated. when we were leaving I asked one the exclusive staff who could speak English if I can get to computer to print my flight tickets he said with the standard bracelet I had it was going to be very difficult. I could not believe what he said so I will never go back to Catalonia La Romania

Worth the money

Had a great time the people were very nice and the food was great. They offered a lot of dining options so u never got tired of eating the same thing . The place is huge and there is a lot of different things you can do and they offer excursions at the front desk. The beach is amazing and the atmosphere is fun. The only complaint that I have is that the alcoholic drinks weren’t that good and the hotel is really far from the airport. You should definitely purchase a shuttle/ transfer ahead of time to save money. Other than that I had a great time !!!!
