bad experience

although booking through cheap carribean was simple to do and no complaints with the process unfortunately the caribe princess hotel was far from a good choice of place to stay - negatives posted below 1. bathroom had mold along baseline and on wall tiles - the exhaust fan barely worked - the sink was basically glued together- room smelled like mildew- called to change room then upon never getting the call back amazingly the phone had no service - hence room was not changed - going forward everyday had only 2 bath towels and1 face cloth -had to call each time to bring additional - one day had to call 3x as I waited 1 1/2 hours for towels to finally arrive - 2.pools were clean - but since all inclusive a lot of people drinking constantly there were cups piled up every where and were not picked up during day at all- 3. you were permitted 1 towel per person and had to hand in card to receive towel (enough though we had wrist bands) the outside lounge chairs -smelled like mildew 4. the bar tenders were somewhat attentive - but surely not in any rush to help you 5.internet only in reception lobby - and no computers for guest to use 6.the food in buffet- was bearable - definitely nothing amazing - food was out on trays -they did make fresh omelettes and pasta dishes that i stuck with - the bus boys, drink order people were the most attentive in the buffet- not so much in the regular restranaunts - desserts were all a 2x2 inch piece of cake (yes just a mouth full) - in general majority of people working there were not pleasant or helpful, not that they were nasty but just basically ignored you until you had to ask for sometime HONESTLY WOULD NEVER RETURN TO THIS RESORT - AND MANY PEOPLE WE MET DOWN THERE HAD THE SAME FEELINGS -SOME HAD EVEN WORST SITUATIONS -I DO HOPE PEOPLE READ ALL THE POSTS

Pretty good value

Had a great week at the Caribe Club Princess. We had 3 rooms, including one suite, among our party of 8, ages 11-65. AC only worked in one of our rooms. Knowing this could be an issue, we took fans. The room furniture was fine in the superior rooms, but dated in the suites. The bedding needs updated badly. Next time I would consider taking a mattress pad and my own sheets as they were too short and did not cover the mattress entirely. The bathroom was fine. There were a few mold spots and you could easily take a bottle of cleaner spray those if it bothers you enough. We saw no bugs, except got some mosquito bites at night. I recommend taking bug bands for night. They are short on towels and don't have wash rags. I knew this ahead of time so just took my own wash rags and an extra towel just in case. The animation team is awesome, especially Rosa and Debera. We played all the beach games. We played tennis, darts, bocce, shuffleboard, archery, soccer. They have free kayaks but it was too rough so we didn't get to do it. Paid extra to parasail and loved it. The workers were very nice. There were way fewer Americans than we're used to (we usually go to Cancun). The shows were pretty good. We liked Lion King and Michael Jackson best. The food was good. Brazilian is the best - neat experience - kids loved it. Ate at the seafood with my parents' VIP package and it was really good. During the day we ate at the grill where you don't have to get dressed. Excellent fries and rotisserie chicken. Ate ice cream and crepes at the Creperie each day. Making reservations looked painful for most. The lines were huge when I walked by. I just got lucky one day when not many people where in line. You can book 3 days out. They need a better system. Got a 20 minute massage - was good. It's only a 5-10 minute walk from the rooms to the lobby and theatre. Kids love walking thru the mangroves and seeing the wildlife. There's also a trolley that runs all the time. The lobby has wifi but is flaky. Make it easy on yourself and just upgrade your cellphone plan. We had a great time but I prepared for it. Don't forget to take tip money and tip early to get good service the rest of the week. Also take cash for the per person tourist fee at the airport (you can do this online). Also when you arrive and depart, each person must have an immigration form filled out, so take pens. I think the customs form is just one per family.

Cheap for a reason

I would not recommend this resort to anyone. First they had to change our room because they put us on the first floor but the sliding door wouldn't lock. The room we were in smelled so bad ,the air conditioning didn't work well at all, it would keep it at 78. The light in the bathroom is led so forget about doing makeup or hair in the bathroom. My husband looked at the vent where the air conditioning is and saw mold so that is why it smelled so bad. The food at the buffet was horrible the restaurants were ok but not great. The drinks were terrible as well. It was our first trip out if the country and sad to say it wasn't what we hoped for. Even though it is cheaper then other resorts pat the extra money and go somewhere better. There was a huge issue with seaweed it was so bad we couldn't go in the water or walk on the beach, now I realize this is no fault of the hotel but maybe it has something to do with the summer months. I must add that the hotel had there crew cleaning up the seaweed every morning

Nice resort with very good value

Overall this was a very nice resort for the price. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. One suggestion for future travelers is to bring a face cloth as they only offer hand and bath towels. It was inconvenient to have to wait in a line each day to obtain reservations for restaurants other than the buffet. We especially enjoyed the Mexican and Italian restaurants. They offered personalized service to make our dining experience more pleasant.
