Expected more from a Hilton brand

Resort really needs to be updated. Several days only 1 out of the 3 elevators were working. There is construction going on beside the resort and jack hammers were going as early as 6am Friday & Saturday morning. Extremely loud and annoying. We paid for an upgraded King deluxe room with the ocean view and the room was no bigger than a standard hotel room with just enough room for the king bed and a dresser. The breakfast buffet was subpar for it to be over $25 per person. The staff was the most pleasant part of our stay as everyone from the front desk, to bartenders, to the housekeeping staff. To be a Hilton Honors guest I was extremely disappointed by the resort and price.

Dissapointing

We chose the Deal of Fortune package which included flight and hotel, however we did not find out our hotel until 6 days before the trip, It was also not all inclusive. There was construction going on all around the hotel. The service was very slow and poor. We spent a good amount of money on a dinner at the hotel restaurant and had bad service and the food was overcooked and overpriced. Water was expensive at $10 per bottle. The valet was expensive and had to be paid daily (there was no parking garage). The elevators were broken and would stop at floors for no reason. The concierge almost lost our bags after locking them in a room. The price was appealing for this deal, however I would recommend staying at another hotel on Paradise Island and getting an all inclusive package.

Not great, not even good.

Old hotel, not updated. Elevators never worked right and catering used them too, they took forever. Told they sold the hotel for development so although it has the Hilton name, not kept to the Hilton standard. Construction everywhere, every day even Sunday. Beach is small but nice. They do sell day passes to cruisers but we did not find it too crowded. It is right between new construction and cruise ship docks. Expensive, one margarita, 15 dollars. Taxis to everywhere cost a lot. Rooms are very small. Ours had a great view of a rooftop with garbage on it. Bathrooms are big and nice but dated. Big tub small shower. Downtown closes 4:30 to 6:00 every day, or when it rains or any other reason the locals feel necessary. If I were to return to Nassau, I would pick somewhere else.

What's to Love

The British Colonial Hilton Nassau sits smack dab in the middle of it's own private beach. And it's Nassau's only private beach. How's that for exclusive?

What We'd Change

Hilton Nassau doesn't have all the activities available that the other beach front resorts on Cable Beach have. But it does have its own beach.

Why You Should Go

Not only is the weather perfect, but the location of this resort is in walking distance to a wide variety of shopping, restaurants and bars.
