Overall Great With A Little To Be Desired

Overall we had a great time at Bolongo Bay Resort. Right from the get-go walking in the door the staff is very warm and friendly. They make you feel very welcome from the complimentery rum punch to taking you to your room . We got upgraded to an ocean-view room which was great! The room itself was a bit dated but nice and clean. For some people this may be a drawback but wasn't really an issue for us since we were at the beach the whole time other than to sleep. The beach itself was probably the only disappointing thing about Bolongo. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice beach and I loved that we pretty much had a spot to ourselves everyday and weren't fighting others for real-estate or beach chairs. Going into the water it is a bit rocky, not terrible, but not great. But, the staff also does a great job of cleaning up a "seaweed" that floats in every morning. The staff on the beach are very friendly as well and they have lots of toys that are free of charge to use whenever you'd like i.e. paddle boards, kayaks, water tricycle, etc. We also did the Heavenly Days cruise which is complimentary if you stay 5+ nights. That was a great time as well. Free drinks and appetizers as you sail around the island for a few hours. The food at Iggies and the Lobster Grille was great. If you get the all-inclusive option everything on the menu is included. We ate most of our meals/had most of our drinks at Iggies which was great. We loved the live music every night. Again, overall I'd highly recommend Bolongo. The room (if that's a big deal to you) and the beach left a little bit to be desired but we'd happily stay at Bolongo again.

Funtabulous!!

Our family vacation at Belongs Beach Resort was better than we expected. There were 14 in our family, (adults, teens and seniors), enjoying all that the "all inclusive" had to offer. Nightly entertainment at Iggie's Bar, water activities during the day and the fabulous meals at the Oyster Grill at night kept us all very happy. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were clean, but needed maintenance. The beach is rocky so water shoes were necessary.

Awesome

It was wonderful with a few minor kinks, but they were quickly resolved. For a great time I recommend this. Loved it and will be back. Our room was very nice. We walked from our private patio, onto the beach.

Good value for my first time.

Everything was nice. I would only recommend the All Inclusive package. Anything else and you're not getting your money's worth. The food was good the beach was OK. If you like outdoor activities then this has a good assortment. The food and drinks are good and the entertainment is everything you need. My fiance and I had a great time and I would of honestly given this resort 5 "palms" but when we were checking out the housekeeper flew in to our room 10 minutes before check out and my fiance was undressed and had to Sprint into the bedroom. She was not very friendly and kinda put a bad taste in our mouths. But everything else was well worth it.

What's to Love

I love being just steps away from the beach, plus the resort is very family friendly and it's not too big. It was perfect getting to know the staff well and other guests!

What We'd Change

You'll need to take a cab to check out other restaurants, but when the food is so great at the resort, why bother?

Why You Should Go

With tons of free water activities to keep everyone busy, a friendly vibe and a cozy atmosphere, Bolongo Bay in St. Thomas is a perfect match for just about anybody.

Hotel Description

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort: Discover A Hidden Caribbean Treasure

Going on vacation is all about having fun. So lose yourself in the Caribbean vibe at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. Family owned and operated since 1974 by the Doumengs, the resort's small, friendly atmosphere offers a vacation that seems like home. We're not the only ones who think the Doumengs are doing it right. Richard Doumeng, Managing Director, was recently awarded the "Golden Conch" Caribbean Hotelier of the Year Award by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association. Get lost in the all-inclusive paradise at Bolongo Bay.

Located on a 1,000-ft stretch of white sand, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort redefines the word "beachfront." Kick back on a lounge chair and watch the kids swim, or check out the freshwater pool for rum punch at the swim-up bar. After you've worked up an appetite, two open-air restaurants draw you in: lobster specialties are a hit at The Lobster Grille, and we hear conch fritters at Iggies Beach Bar and Grill are delish. Wednesday nights, Iggies hosts the wild Carnival Extravaganza, with steel-pan tunes and a limbo show, or you catch a cab to Charlotte Amalie for more action.

Whether you're hanging out at the beach or seeing the sights, there are tons of things to do during the day. Start a game of beach volleyball, or challenge the kids to paddleboat races. Try parasailing, or book a snorkel or scuba excursion to see the underwater world. Day trips to nearby St. John, St. Croix and the British Virgin Islands are popular, but St. Thomas also has great appeal. Paradise Point has unforgettable views. The shoreline is beautiful from Magens Bay. And kids love feeding stingrays at Coral World.

Book an appointment with the massage therapist after a long day to unwind. Since Bolongo Bay is smaller and intimate, all 64 rooms are beachfront, so you can kick back and enjoy the Caribbean from the privacy of your balcony. Families don't have to navigate any pesky stairs with young children in the Beachfront Room, and if you're traveling on a budget, the Value Room is just right.
