Jan 18, 2026Amazing time with a day pass
I got a day pass at Barcelo with a few of my friends last week, and we had an amazing time! We started off at the buffet, of course, which had a lot of variety and everything I tried was delicious! I spent most of the day lounging at the pool and beach, which were both kept clean and had a very fun atmosphere. A lot of our time at the pool was spent near the swim-up bar, and the staff was very friendly and made it a point to make sure we were all having fun. Later that night, we were all sitting in the theater and some staff members we met earlier in the day came up and started dancing with us; the employees at Barcelo are really what makes it so special and definitely makes me want to go back.

The grounds and hotel were amazing. But if you are into food and eating. This is not the place for you. Great kids resort for the pools, activities and beach. But no food for them and overall food choices and quality is poor.

Jan 18, 2026Terribly dissatisfied
Upon arrival, nothing was explained to us. We had no idea what time the buffets were open, that we could go to different restaurants and we were never given a map! The rooms were very dated and musty smelling. Our room was also dirty, the shower was gross with dirt in the corners and around the toilet. The staff was very rude and the language barrier was awful. I have a food allergy and when I asked a waitress if the meal had mushrooms in it the waitress rolled her eyes and walked away. The food was sub par and very disappointing. We had a horrible incident take place outside our room where a man was screaming for help and was clearly in distress and being hurt. We waited for fresh towels and coffee cups for 4 days. We finally complained to the concierge and got cups the following day. We also had a woman yelling and screaming outside in the courtyard and had to call the front desk for security. We were very frustrated by the lack of English speaking staff as it made communication difficult at best. We paid for the catamaran excursion and after they let us go out alone the catamaran steering bar broke, the sail ripped and we were stranded on the ocean for about an hour before they came out by boat to rescue us! When we talked to the Concierge about our complaints we were dismissed and nothing was offered to compensate us. We will not ever stay at a Barcelo hotel again.

Amazing experince
I had such an amazing experience at Barcelo. I had a day pass and I was very pleased with the service and quality. The staff especially at the pool bar were great and the buffet was so tasty. Would definitely come back!

Barcelo day pass
A couple of friends and I had a day pass here, and the atmosphere was great. We ate at one of the buffets, which had decent food but an even better view of the beach. We spent most of our time walking around the resort and seeing what they had to offer, a lot btw!! Then made our way over to the poolside bar, where the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back to stay longer!
