Stay at bavaro beach adults only
We had a second chance to stay in this nice hotel. However this second experience was not as good as previous because we got upgrade to "premium" room which was not premium and felt like downgrade on many levels (avoid it!).

Do not stay here
Rude staff. Dirty rooms, with ants and cockroaches found in the room. Food is inedible and found chicken bones in shredded chicken, a major safety violation. Deceptive "all-inclusive" resort. This was the worst place we have ever experienced staying and would not recommend to ANYONE, EVER! We wasted a lot of money on what we thought was going to be an "exceptional" stay, only to change our flights and leave 2 days early because we couldn't handle it any longer! Each day got worse and worse with more and more instances of bad service and terrible food.

San
A very nice place to stay—peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding. The atmosphere was calm, the surroundings were beautiful, and everything was well maintained. Truly a great experience.

Stay away from this place
Avoid this place if you can. Waited three hours for check in and then was told room was not available, and assigned different room then booked. Food is not clean, with flies all over the place in buffet. Hard to make restaurants reservations, everything is only available after 10pm. Need to go check availability everyday. Very limited poor and beach chair availability. people took our towels and personal items from our pool chair, the resort response was nothing they can do and a reminder that each towel card is $20. Room and some part of the resort smelled like toilet overflow. Do not recommend this place, any other resort in DR is better than this!

2 Stars at BEST
First- I am not a complainer. I am the person who can always find the bright spots and concentrate on those; however, this was beyond disappointing. I will start with the good: the rooms were clean, and the water is absolutely gorgeous! There are several things that I was extremely disappointed in, the biggest being the food and the service of the staff in the buffet. The food was not good at all, even at the buffet. I ended up eating more french fries than I normally eat in a year just because I wasn't scared of them. We were fortunate enough to get reservations for two nights of our 5-night stay, once at the seafood restaurant (I love seafood), and it was not even edible, and one night at the Mexican restaurant; however, it was Christmas Eve, so it was the same menu at all of the restaurants. On our seafood night, we ended up going to the sports bar and eating a plate of french fries. Apparently, all of the reservations go to the Premium members, so unless you want to eat at 10:30 every night or make all of your reservations as soon as you check in, you can't get a spot. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that after spending more than $6,500 for my family of 4, we were not able to eat at any of the restaurants that were advertised. Aside from the food not tasting good at the buffet, it was also chaotic. There was no one seating people or getting drinks, etc. That doesn't sound like a big deal until your family of four has to sit at two separate tables and you have to go to the bar to get bottles of water at breakfast. Heaven forbid you need a napkin! (I'll also include here that we are good tippers, so that wasn't the issue.) Also- change the mop bucket! Both the buffet area and the sports bar smelled like they had been cleaned with old, dirty mop water. It was especially shameful since those were our options for food. The coffee shop should also open before 4:00 p.m. I can't begin to understand the logic that went into not opening it until mid-afternoon, but it was very disappointing. I wish I had spent another couple of hundred dollars to go somewhere else. We literally spent Christmas there, and I wanted to cry multiple times thinking about how much I spent and how little we were getting.
