Awful food!

We booked this trip reluctantly as an all inclusive, because it wasn't offered any other way. Unfortunately, I have to say the food was the absolute worst we have ever tasted of any all inclusive. When we arrived at the resort, we were all paid for an ocean front room with a queen bed, instead they took us to a garden view with two single beds and acted like they have no idea what's going on. After waiting 2 hours in our airplane clothing, they finally gave us what we paid for. While we were waiting, it took one hour to get something to eat from their hot dog and hamburger menu! When asked for a salad with olive oil dressing, we were asked what is that? Their Fish deck restaurant doesn't serve any fresh fish, when I asked where does their fish come from, the manager said everything is shipped frozen from the US. Need I say more?

Sad menu!

Alexandria resort best value ever!

We had a fantastic time , at this resort the staff was phenomenal, very pleasant and willing to go the extra mile to make your experience more enjoyable. Jessica met us every morning for breakfast with a beautiful smile and kind words for the day. All of the staff it was obvious this wasn’t just a job, but they wanted you to have a good time while on vacation. They food was great and they had top shelf brand liquor at the bar. Rooms were comfortable. Beach was amazing! I would definitely come again!

Alexandra Turks & Caicos

Overall the resort was kept cleaned. There are two sister resorts you have access to by shuttle (the office will hand you a Time Schedule for the shuttles) The Beach House (Adults only) (21 rooms) you need to make dinner reservations here. I didn't check out the beach only went there for dinner. The Blue Haven (newer beautiful resort & no dinner reservations required (the food and drinks were my favorite choice here). The man made beach area is small. If you are a "beach" lover and want more activity then Alexander is the choice to hang out during the day. The office/entry area is not located where you are dropped off, please keep that in mind they were opening up a Seafood Restaurant in that area. The office/entry area is located in the middle of the resort where the small main restaurant is. You will have to take your luggage to that area for check in. I believe the resort is working on a new Office/Entry area at the beginning of the Resort Area and am not sure when that will be operational. The alcohol at the Alexandra needs to be updated to higher end alcohol as the other two sister resorts did have the quality alcohol. Also, please keep in mind the ocean temperature is in the low 80's during the off season and you are on the Atlantic side. Water is BLUE and clear. The ocean during our snorkeling trip was somewhat choppy and some people were sick on the boat. Check the conditions before going out. Just in my opinion, I personally would have skipped this paid tour because it was not what I expected. The lunch was a sandwich and the Hawaiian punch rum was so so and only went to one snorkeling area. If you are looking for night activities there is only a DJ playing, NO shows as the larger resorts have. There was plenty of towels and places to sit on the beach. There is definitely an issue with sand fleas/mosquitoes and I would suggest some type of overall resort spraying. I had approximately 20+ bites on my legs. Don't forget your bug SPRAY!

Relaxing and Chill Beach Vacation

We loved this resort and will definitely come back. We really enjoyed that there are 2 sister properties (The Beach House and Blue Haven) we could visit to mix it up and get some variety. Note that if you have children, you will only be able to go to Blue Haven because Beach House is adults only. There is a shuttle that comes every so often to transport guests to the other properties. I will say that we did wish the shuttles came more often. Seems like they’d sit around for an hour, not going anywhere, when they could have easily been making the rounds between each hotel more regularly to provide a little bit more ease of getting around. There are free bicycles with the resort, but you aren’t allowed to have them out after dark. They are also kind of high off the ground for me (5’3”), so it was a bit trickier to stop, but still an enjoyable experience to bike to the grocery store and Salt Mills shopping area. We also made use of the free kayaks and paddle boards and loved using them! There is a fun water trampoline as well. At Alexandra there is only one place to have breakfast every day. Breakfast is delicious, with made to order omelets, hot and cold food options, including fresh fruit and smoothies. Lunch is next door, overlooking the ocean, and dinner is at that same place as lunch. There is a lack of variety, which is why going to the other resorts is a nice option to mix it up. There is also always jerk chicken and corn on the cob available at a stand just off the beach. You can order from your beach chair with a server as well, if you prefer. There is no room service but they stock the refrigerator with soda, water, and beer. The rooms are pleasant, clean, nice, and relatively standard. We had a studio with a king bed, balcony with partial ocean view, and a kitchenette with coffee maker. There is also a stacked washer and dryer unit. No tub, just a shower. There are a few mosquitos at sundown, so bring some spray or pick some up at the grocery store. You will want it. The Beach House is only a 20 minute stroll along the beach, which I consider easily accessible, and along the way to the Beach House is an AMAZING place to snorkel right at the beach! Do NOT miss this. I saw at least 10 sea turtles, a huge ray, and tons of fish. The location is right in front of a bar/restaurant called Somewhere. The people that work at this resort are wonderful. Jessica was always a bright and happy face with nice things to say, greeting us almost every morning at breakfast. Loved her. Lil manages housekeeping and really wants to make sure the rooms are just right for guests. Max is a really cool bartender that grew up on the island and can tell you about it, also wanting to make sure you get anything you need while there. Giovanni carried our bags and was always happy to assist. The front desk recommended Horace at 4H Taxi and Tours for an island tour and it was amazing. At Beach House, the food is just premium (especially for lunch) and the drinks are simply more premium. We loved visiting that resort and we particularly loved visiting the resident dog Toby and his caretakers, Randall and Jamal. Randall and Jamal are so sweet and so kind and we had Jamal take us out on the Hobie Cat WITH the dog Toby. So cool!! We just had a great time and loved this place. A few things to note, though. Everything shuts down early on this island, so if you are going to have a “party” you better be willing to make your own party. The first night we were so tired from travel that we took a nap and didn’t have dinner until about 8 or 8:30. There wasn’t anyone around and the service was extremely slow. I was concerned this is how the entire trip would be and felt a little uneasy. We walked down to Blue Haven and it was the same way-like a ghost town. What we learned thereafter is if you don’t eat around 6-6:30, you in essence miss the boat. When we ate at that time, there were lots of other guests around and the service was prompt and good. While they did play music every night, it was relatively vacant and the super sad part is they played the exact same songs/playset EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. You’d think they’d at least have one week worth of different songs for each night. Not the end of the world, but easy to improve, so I think they should! We didn’t mind that everyone retired early, we just got on that schedule and went with it. We were so active during the day that we were worn out in the evening anyway. One of the things I love about this beach is that they don’t have a million motor sport activities, like some beach vacation areas do. No jet skis, only a couple of boats doing parasailing, and several little bitty Hobie Cat sailboats. This made for no noise pollution or air pollution at the beach. The waves are about 6 inches and crash right on shore, making this easy water to navigate. That being said, the water does get very deep very quickly, so be careful with little ones. There also aren’t people harassing you on the beach at all. Once in a while someone might come by trying to sell you on parasailing or a snorkel cruise, or ask if you want your hair braided, but that’s about it. Not that many people care about the exercise facility when on vacation, but I was excited to use the treadmill and was sad to see that there is no treadmill at all, like I saw in photos. So, don't plan to use a treadmill while there, since they do not have one. The internet here is fantastic, so that's nice. One more thing. When you arrive it is a bit odd. You don’t get dropped off at the lobby/check-in area. You get dropped off in what seems like some random off-shoot area of the resort. There should be a bellman there to greet you, grab your bags and escort you through the resort and over to the check-in area. It felt really odd and unexpected, but ended up just fine once we understood what was going on. We were greeted with an invite to enjoy rum punch, which is a delicious way to start the trip.
