How Do You Purchase Travel Protection Plus?
While you are building your vacation, you can select Travel Protection Plus from the Add-Ons menu, or add it during the first step of the check-out process in the Travel Protection section. Pricing for your choice of Travel Credit and Cash-Back option will display. Travel Protection Plus can only be purchased online during the booking process. To add Travel Protection Plus after you have made your reservation, call CheapCaribbean at 1-800-915-2322. Travel Protection Plus may only be added within 7 days of your initial deposit, provided you have not yet made your final payment, and may not be added within 21 days of travel (except at the time of booking).
*Cancellations and Changes: Advance cancellation time is based on the airline’s no-show policy. If you are cancelling a land-only reservation, you must cancel at least two hours prior to your hotel’s check-in time. A "lap" child under the age of 2 who shares a seat with an adult is covered under the adult's policy.
**Travel Credits are valid for travel commencing within 395 days of the original departure date; are nonrefundable, nontransferable, not redeemable for cash; and must be used by expiration date. Travel credits will be issued in the names of the adult (18+) passengers on the original reservation. Reimbursement must be requested within 60 days of the date of cancellation. When a booking with Travel Credit is canceled, and a new reservation is made and then canceled, any portion of the new reservation paid with travel credit will be reimbursed as travel credit, even if the Cash-Back option was purchased for the new booking. If you opt to repurchase Travel Protection Plus on a rebooking paid with travel credit, partially or in full, select the Travel Credit plan to avoid unnecessary expense; only payments made with a credit card can be refunded as such. All travel credit payments will be reimbursed as travel credit.
***For changes to bookings with Travel Protection Plus (TPP) where no supplier penalties were assessed, the Plan benefits are considered unused in the first instance and can be moved to a revised reservation without a reactivation fee if the new booking is finalized within 7 days of the initial cancellation. For changes to bookings with Travel Protection Plus in which supplier penalties were assessed, the penalties are covered, but the Plan reactivation fee (75% of the original price) applies if you wish to have this coverage on the revised booking. Coverage must be reactivated within 24 hours after use to maintain protection. When rebooking 8 days or more after initial cancellation, normal fees apply, and TPP is considered used. The state-specific free-look period indicated in the Plan Documents still applies. Multiple canceled/changed bookings with TPP: If a reservation with Travel Protection Plus (TPP) Full Travel Credit is canceled, and a new reservation is made and then canceled, any portion of the new reservation paid with travel credit will be reimbursed as travel credit, even if the Cash-Back option was purchased for the new booking. If you opt to repurchase TPP on a rebooking paid with travel credit, partially or in full, select the Full Travel Credit plan to avoid unnecessary expense; only payments made with a credit card can be refunded as such. All travel credit payments will be reimbursed as travel credit.
*^The Hurricane Travel Credit applies for vacations departing June through November. While in destination, if the trip is interrupted for 24 hours or more due to a Category One or greater hurricane, you will receive a refund for unused or interrupted vacation nights plus a "Fresh Start" certificate for a future vacation. Fresh Start certificate amounts: $100 per adult and $50 per child for Exclusive Nonstop Vacation Flights, and $25 per person for scheduled air vacations. Fresh Start certificates are nontransferable, are not redeemable for cash, and can be used on a vacation with the same brand as originally booked for travel any time (excluding holidays) for one year from the original departure date. A qualifying disruption occurs when your hotel requires you to be displaced from your room for 24 hours or more due to the result of a Category One or greater hurricane and does not apply to hurricane watches, warnings, or tropical storms. The Hurricane Travel Credit Plan applies to the nights you are displaced from your hotel if a comparable hotel of equal or greater hotel rating is not provided.
