    A Real Hidden Gem

We love staying here every year. Low key atmosphere, mostly adults, not many kids. The people are very friendly and see the same workers every time. The food and service at the restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Other dive shops will pick you up at this resort on their pier which is so nice and convenient!

    No Service after hours

The hotel claims to have a 24 hour front desk. But after hours which I believe start about 10pm. They stop answering the house phone and provide no service, I got back to my room a little after midnight and found no bath towels. I tried to call the front desk and of course they did not answer. I went down to ask for some towels and was told I was SOL. I asked them to call the manager and was basically told to F myself. So no I can not recommend the hotel. The dive center was excellent and so was the restaurant portion. The hotel will be lucky if I ever set foot in it again. Ed King Benton City WA.

Average dive resort for budget travelers

The is a dive lodge, not fancy but works. We had the cabana which was great. It has separate space, 2 bathrooms, and a small kitchen. No plugs/stoppers worked in the sinks or bathtub and maintenance said they could not fix them. The food and the tools warm pool were their weak points. The food was edible but never tasty, our group often said “well it’s not terrible” when asked. At the breakfast buffet, the dried out bland chilaquiles were the worst and showed up every day, lunch was fine especially after a morning of diving. The menu got tiresome by the end of the week and despite paying for all inclusive we ate dinner elsewhere several times. The diving started out chaotic for our group of 40 but they got their act together and we had some wonderful dives. The rooms are clean and housekeeping was great.

    Mehhh

I would have rated it higher (by one dot) had there not been an experience where a guest with me weren't made to feel uncomfortable and ostracized. The rooms are in desperate need of updating. They were as clean as to be expected and housekeeping did a superb job of cleaning and were friendly on top of that. Its main focus is that of a dive resort. The pool during the hot months feels like bath water so everyone clamors to the pool bar which isn't huge and fills up quick. The food was nothing to write home about. The noise level is unacceptable due to all of the construction. The reason for such a low rating is my guest would have breakfast by himself in the mornings while I would go dive with a group that was staying at the resort. He has somewhat of a pronounced lazy eye and he said that the kitchen staff came out and were looking at him laughing and speaking in Spanish. I can not with certainty say that they were making fun of him but they should perhaps be more cognescent of their behavior. I can say with certainty that given all factors I would NOT stay here again. Other than that one incident the rest of the staff was super friendly and helpful. I can nap through noise and tolerate edible, unseasoned food but what I won't stand for is when someone I have invited to be my guest is made to feel less than or uncomfortable by service industry workers whose income relies on the paying customer. Likesomeone else mentioned the dive shop is barebones. Bring a padlock should you be able to find a bin to store your equipment. the boats aren't anything fancy and if you do decide to stay here....request the dive guide/master Mario. He was awesome. Also...obtain receipts. Mediocre bookkeeping on the dive shops part but was very kind and just needed further clarification. An issue arose where charges were in question so I had to make another stop at the dive shop to clarify that I was NOT diving with nitrox and that I did in fact pay for my additional dives.

    Decent for divers

This is predictable a diving resort. Everything about this place is structured to cater to divers; so if you don’t dive, I’m not sure if you’re going to enjoy it. The dive shop is across the street via footbridge, which is a slight inconvenience for hauling equipment back and forth. The place is currently under renovations so it was noisy and chaotic- but that should be over soon
