    Not that impressed.

    The beach and pools were beautiful. The food was sub par. The concierge were constantly harassing trying to sell some sort of star membership. There were tables of jewelry, strategically set up so they were unavoidable, set up to sell and they did not like taking no for an answer. There were also people set up on the beach to sell crafts, same thing. We just wanted to relax but spent most of vacation trying to avoid aggressive sales pitch attempts. When i dialed the front desk to see if there was a gift shop at the resort i was told I would have to take a taxi to shop but there was in fact more than one on the premises. Definitely was not remotely worth the price we paid.

    Beautiful Resort

    My husband and I had a great time. Staff was so friendly. Resort clean and well maintained and the food was good. There was plenty to do there, but I mostly just chose to relax. Our room was very comfortable. We also did a couple of local excursions that were fun as well. Highly recommend xtreme buggies. It was a blast!

    Beautiful resort

    I stayed for a week at this beautiful resort with my mom and we loved it. The grounds are stunningly gorgeous, surrounded by lush greenery and natural charm. I love how the resort has a 'cozy' feeling and I think this is mainly due to the proximity of everything. You don't have to walk far to get to any point in the hotel (lobby, restaurants, bars, gym, spa, pools, beach, room). Our room was located in the Punta Cana section and it was lovely. Clean, recently renovated and it had everything we needed including a fully stocked mini fridge. Overall, the service at the hotel was amazing. Staff at the hotel were kind and always greeted us with a smile. What I loved the most about this hotel was the animation team. They work tirelessly around the clock to lead many fun activities such as dancing lessons, foam parties, crazy beach games, shows, ...etc They truly make you feel like you are home and a part of their family. A special mention goes to Christopher, Edwin, Chocolate, Baby black, Eddy, Mini, Sabroso and all the other amazing team members that I don't know the name of. Without those guys, the vacation wouldn't have been fun. Another thing that I found to be exceptional at this resort was the gym. It is a very high end gym with great equipment. I tried several fitness classes and I absolutely loved them! Zumba with Gregory was amazing!!! Aqua fit with Fabio, Pedro and Gregory was so fun. The beach is gorgeous. The first 4 days of our stay we had no sargassum but in the last 3 days, we had lots. The beach was still swimmable with all the sargassum even though it wasn't as enjoyable. One thing about the beach is that if you want a spot on the chaise longue, you need to get up early in the morning to reserve which is something I didn't completely love. This resort caters mainly to tourists from South America. Most guests were from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Columbia and Brazil. You are surrounded by Spanish and many staff don't speak English but this is something I actually enjoyed as it made the whole experience that much more authentic. Same goes for the music and entertainment. You are surrounded by local culture and beautiful bachata music all the time which I loved. The one thing I believe this resort needs to improve on is the food. The eating areas of the main buffets are not air conditioned and they are open to the buffet section (which is air conditioned). Because everything is open, there are always flies landing on the food at the buffet. Also, some of the items that should be served 'cold' are not at their ideal temperature. We also found that there wasn't a lot of variety in the food. You don't need reservations to book the à la carte restaurants, it's first come first serve. We found that this presented a problem as it was very hard to get into these restaurants. We tried the Marimba and we didn't like it. We attempted to get into the French restaurant but we were unable to. Other guests who tried said that the portions were really small. We did eat at the Mexican restaurant and we loved it. So our overall experience was a very positive one. If this resort can resolve the issues surrounding the food, it would be very close to perfect!!

    Customer service

    Food is good, service in restaurants could be better. Customer relations desk personnel is very unpleasant . We went to hotel for my son birthday. Been promising that hotel will provide a gift and bummer. Nothing happened. We had to chase them to get their attention. They very unprofessional people. They said ok we will put number of u wish.

    Not a 5⭐️, sub par customer service and amenities do not match description of the resort.

    The Iberostar Punta Cana is NOT a 5 ⭐️ resort and half of the pictures posted on this Trip Advisor post are not applicable to this resort. Let’s begin with the pool experience. Both of the pool options are warm, dirty and not refreshing. The tile is extremely slippery and needs to be cleaned. The bars located near the pool are not much to speak about. Especially the pool bar surrounded by bees swarming everywhere. The staff is very unprofessional. The only friendly team member at this bar is Maria ‘drinky-drinky’. The bar closest to the beach has staff that is very nice, professional and they know how to have fun with the guests. The rooms lack a lot in decor, comfort and restocking towels, etc for the guests. It took hours and days to get some washcloths. There were dirty dishes and drinks left all around the hotel rooms. Food….starting with the buffets, there are so many places to improve. Install some fly fans to try and keep flys out and birds away from the food. Guest Services could smile and answer questions of guests about food. They are very distracted with each other and their cell phones. Rolling eyes and snapping lips at guests vs trying to help. Very unprofessional. Did not feel welcomed. Restaurants ~ food is good for the most part. We couldn’t understand what the goal was with the restaurants?!? Did you not want to serve guests in the specialty restaurants? I would think this is what you want to showcase and turn tables. However, most dinners take 2 or 2.5 hours which is way too long to wait for a meal. At times, we weren’t even offered desserts or a drink. The need for people to clean tables in the restaurants is highly evident. Hire more staff. We were told you don’t take reservations but you were putting tables together for 18, 24, etc. We were then told you took a ‘block’ or ‘hold’. Call it what you want…they are the same thing. Consider having your employees put their cell phones away during their shift. The dancers during the day and at night did an amazing job. They were friendly and professional. The bar in the front lobby was very nice. Clever, the manager, was nice when we brought our concerns to him. However, there is only so much you can do in a matter of a few days. We tried to go to the Grand Bavarian and see what that Iberostar offered. We were asked to leave by management and security. Really ~ Iberostar, set the ‘rules’ aside, do you not want to upsell your guests?? Do you want them to return for another trip and see what all of your resorts offer? We were able to go to the Bavaro pool and it was nice and refreshing. I’m still not sure why Punta Cana could not offer refreshing pools at the resort. Bottom line….not a 5⭐️, food needs improved, customer service is subpar and the decor is outdated. Facilities and Amenities need updated. The customer does not come first at this resort.
