    Hibachi is a definite do!

Chef Lorenzo was so fun at the Hibachi bar! So entertaining and delicious food! A must do! Order the trio- shrimp, chicken and beef. So perfectly cooked and a nice portion!

    Great value for money

My wife and I had an incredible time at this resort. It was our first time in Cancun and we'd definitely recommend this resort if you want a great balanced package on a budget. Pros: - The beach was very picturesque and the water wasn't too bad despite the seaweed. If you venture a bit further past the shallows, on a good day, the water is near perfect. The seaweed is an overall issue in Cancun, but it wasn't too bad here in late April - Let's talk about F&B. Solid breakfast buffet, brunch bar by the pool offering fresh to order crepes, and some restaurants in the central village are open for to-go lunch (tacos, ceviche, etc). Plus snacking options like food carts serving burger / fries. And a specialty coffee shop serving very respectable-quality coffee for long hours during the day (I felt bad for their employees enduring long lines of entitled snobs requesting complicated Starbucks-style drinks!). Plus amazing fresh fruit available in all buffets, and also (huge plus) a fresh fruit smoothie bar right on the beach - amazing option for kids and non-alcohol drinkers. Plus a variety of dine-in options if you want to keep things diversified away from the usual buffet. Incredible value for money - Our room was very clean and had no issues. I wish you could switch off the balcony lights, however, but not a dealbreaker given the blackout curtains. You could tell overall the resort is relatively new and everything is in great condition - Staff from the top down were very well trained and very professional to deal with - The spa had a nice rooftop pool with great views Areas for Improvement: - The restaurant and buffet staff are all very professional and well trained - but I wish they were more sensitive to food restrictions especially pork. I would sometimes ask for no pork in my food, but we had to make an extra effort with staff to ensure separation (for example in the omelet station some bits of pork would drop into the cheese bowl) - I noticed there were plenty of lounge chairs under the palm trees on the beach - with great shade and a short distance to the shore - but no umbrellas and chairs at all. We were lucky to go in off-peak season where the beach was not as crowded, but I'm concerned that maybe in other parts of the year, you could find the palm tree areas completely taken and nowhere else with shade to sit on the beach. For comparison, the Planet Hollywood beach had lots of umbrellas - The sit-down restaurants' dinner were average or slightly below average in terms of quality and quantity. We tried the Italian restaurant and steakhouse for dinner. We were probably better off reserving at the teppanyaki restaurant or sticking to the buffet - The spa facility itself was very small and did not contain a lot of amenities compared to other resort spas we've been to. The massages we received were decent, but a bit overpriced Things to note before going: - The resort is relatively small compared to others. There are only 2 swimming pools and they can get full very easily. Even when we went in the off-peak season, both pools were already completely packed - It's a family-oriented resort. If you are a couple with no kids and looking for good quality at a budget, you will still enjoy it very much, but be aware there will be kids and families - Because it's family-oriented, the entertainment options are not as unique or extravagant as some of the other larger resorts in Cancun. They were ok but nothing amazing. This was not an issue for us because we would sleep early anyway, but something to bear in mind

No 5th Ave nightlife very dead after 9pm

They advertise this hotel as a 5th Ave Playa del Carmen type of night entertainment but it has none of that👎🏻ZERO. Decent pools. Food, not the greatest lacks flavor the steakhouse, the sandwich truck, and the Italian restaurant are great. The rooms are great lots of space. Elevators never work so you will be taking the stairs a lot. Staff depending on the day they are having will determine their mood. The sports bar is great.

    Chef Lorenzo is the best

Everything was great. Only problem I had was their online reservation system as it was difficult to use, but that was fine as chef Lorenzo was accommodating and allowed us to switch our reservation at the ayami Japanese steakhouse. Chef Lorenzo was the best
