Too sick to enjoy the resort
I'm a Hyatt Unlimited Vacation Club member, so I've been to many of the all-inclusives under the Hyatt umbrella, but had never been to the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. The resort is nice and we had fun, but my friends and I couldn't really enjoy it to the fullest considering we all (five different people) had stomach issues/felt sick over the four days we were staying there. I would never write a review like this if there was any chance we got something from somewhere else, but it's too insane of a coincidence that every single one of us was doing poorly over the course of the four-day stay. We managed to make it on one AMStar excursion, which was phenomenal, but we couldn't enjoy our trip to the fullest because we all felt bad. We did not consume tap water, but maybe the ice in drinks was not made with bottled water, the water served at the restaurants was not bottled, food was washed with unsafe water, or maybe we all consumed something bad/expired? Also, this resort has a beach, but getting in the water is near impossible given this time of the year has an influx of seaweed in that part of the ocean (not the fault of the resort at all, just an FYI). The resort is quite nice, but I'm not sure I would return given what happened to all of us.

Great time
Great small hotel. Was not very busy during our stay which made it relaxing. Bianca is the most hard working lady, super friendly and kind server. Saw how she walked all day around the pool serving with a smile. The Asian restaurant has a reservation option and sushi. Definitely worth going. Our chef made it super fun and even shaped the fried rice with “love” when he learned we were celebrating our anniversary. The resort is very well kept and always clean.

Nice quietly little resort
We had a wonderful time nice and quiet we had a swim out on what would be the North side i guess? Lots of good sun in the afternoon. We were taken care of extremely well by Miguel at the Breakfast Buffet and the Lola Beach bar. Evening fun was well handled by Yuneal and he always had a REALLY BIG SHOW ready for us every day.

Little slice of heaven!
Our stay at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya was as close to perfection as you can get! The staff was incredible and so accommodating and friendly. The facilities were so clean and immaculately kept! I love the rain shower in the bathroom, and my bed was as comfortable as my one back home A few amazing employees that stood out were Jhovani- host at the buffet , Andreas- director of facility , Luis from the buffet and Mauricio from the spa. I also can’t say enough about the entertainment staff! Victor, Yunuel, Fermin, Sandra ,Dulce, Arturo helped me in countless ways and made every guest feel special. If anyone is looking for a little slice of heaven, definitely consider a stay at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya!

Exceptional Staff, Beautiful Resort, but Some Flaws
This review reflects our personal opinion as seasoned travelers who are quite familiar with the all-inclusive experience. My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Zilara Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and found it to be a captivating blend of comfort and luxury, peppered with a few shortcomings. **The Good:** Firstly, let me say, the hotel is stunning. With its slick design and impeccable maintenance, it certainly earned a solid 4.5 stars from us. The staff was absolutely incredible, deserving of a full 5.0 stars. From the waiters to bartenders, and a special mention to Ferminator from the entertainment team, they were all devoted to making sure every guest felt engaged and appreciated. The facilities were another highlight, with the pool area being fantastic and worthy of its 5.0-star rating. The rooms provided a comfortable, cozy stay, with air conditioning and efficient housekeeping, albeit a tad small – they score a 4.5 from us. Also worth mentioning is Lola Restaurant, which provided a lovely atmosphere with its Mexican/Caribbean cuisine, earning it a favorable 4.5 stars from us. And if you’re after relaxation, the spa and massages are superb, hands down. An easy 5.0 stars. **The Not So Good:** Our main disappointment lies in the buffet experience, especially for dinner. Although breakfast was a delight with plenty of typical options, dinner was notably limited, marking it as the smallest buffet we've encountered in our travels. Thanks to breakfast, it manages a 3.5 rating. The Italian restaurant, Capri, offered good food and variety, justifying a 4.5-star rating. However, the occasional 45-minute wait at peak dinner times was a letdown, at times forcing us back to the buffet. Entertainment was another area that left us underwhelmed. The nightly shows seemed amateurish and lacked excitement, which prompts us to rate it at 2.5 stars. By night, the resort tends to get quiet, especially if you’re a night owl looking for some fun beyond 10 p.m. It’s a shame the lobby bar doesn’t stay open later, despite its inviting layout for socializing. Lastly, while not the fault of the resort, the beach was unfortunately not existent during our stay due to sargassum. Fortunately, the resort managed to maintain ample chairs and shade, making the pool a great alternative. **Now the really bad** I promise my wife and coconut. To my surprise, it was $16 Canadian coconut. I think that Hyatt should be ashamed for charging this much. Clearly, I money grab. This i didn't like. But it was my choice. **Final Thoughts:** Overall, the Hyatt Zilara offers an invigorating mix of highs and mild lows. The staff's attentiveness and the resort’s aesthetic elegance truly stand out. While there are areas for improvement, notably in dining and entertainment, the positive aspects of our stay, coupled with the great company of fellow travelers, made our trip memorable. We recommend a visit, especially for those who prioritize relaxation and excellent service. Would we return? Possibly, but with tempered expectations regarding evening events and dinner options, I highly doubt it. As a side note, we were at the Hyatt Zilara in Montego bay, it'll definitely get a return visit from us. Hope this helps!
