My wife and I went here for a getaway. The service was awesome. Cesar from the preferred pool was unbelievably friendly and caring. He watched over our pool items and made sure our umbrella was perfect. Miguel from the Oceana, Martin from the Seaside grill, and Eloy the very lively drink guy, we’re all outstanding. I would highly recommend this resort! Bob
We just got back from a wonderful time in Puerto Los Cabos. We have been to this Secrets many times and it never disappoints. The only disappointment we had was the employees all wearing their masks. We missed seeing their beautiful faces. We understand it is for the safety of all but do miss the faces. We had so many wonderful people that took care of us. Maribel every morning at the Market Cafe. She always went over and above on everything she did for us. Wouldn't dare leave out Martin at the seaside grill. He was always over the top to make everything so special. Thank you for all the wonderful surprises on our meals. David at Oceania for all his great service. Leonardo at the Porto Fino and Leonardo at EL Patio. Always service with a smile. Eloy & Zuli at the pool were such fun and on top of their job. We really can't say enough about all the waiters and waitresses. Always over the top on service and to meet any special request. Most of the time before we even ask. The restaurants weren't always open at the same time but wasn't a problem since we had a long stay we were able to make them all.
Pros & Cons
Pros: Big pool and views Good sized room and Flawless AC Restaurant service is good and professional Premium spirits are ok, you should really offer Americans nice tequila without them having to ask for it. You have a decent variety but whenever they ask for tequila you give them the cheapest. Cons: Breakfast was the same everyday, not a lot of choices there. You can’t swim in the ocean whatsoever, sea is very dangerous. Food overall wasn’t impressive at all, that was one of the reasons I chose to stay in this hotel and everything was just ok... except for teppanyaki that was good. There were literally 2 waiters for the whole pool and they took ages to come and get us a drink, and that’s a 20% occupation rate. You need more staff by the pool. Beach bar was closed. Bars In the pool close at 5pm, that is really early and you can’t even ask for water or Anything all the staff leaves at 6pm most. Sunset’s around 7 so they should close The bar @ the pool a little bit later. Wines included in the all inclusive menu were very bad, a good bottle of wine will be around 70 usd. They should not advertise the hotel as a truly all inclusive option, selling liquor bottles or wines to clients. There are some nice Cabañas In front of the pool but they’re 30 usd... again not a truly all inclusive option. Other than that it was a pleasant stay, but will definitely check other options when coming back to Cabo.
The property was beautiful and immaculately clean. Service was phenomenal! I will say we were skeptical on the value of the preferred status, but I would definitely get it if you are on the fence. The drinks at the pool are not great so we often got them from the preferred lounge, which is centrally located.
Secrets is the real deal!
Check in was super easy. We were upgraded to the Preferred Club which was a nice surprise. The ocean view room was amazing. Not only do you get ocean view, you also get mountain view with the most delightful sunsets! The room was very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Room service was great. We ordered in several times and it was hot, efficient and delicious. The beach was basically off limits due to high tide but that was okay. There were plenty of places to still get our beach and ocean fix. The pools were very nice. We actually liked the main pool better than the preferred pool, better views and good music as well as activities such as water aerobics and volleyball. Our favorite restaurants were Oceana and Market Cafe. Karen and Francisco in the Market Cafe were so nice! They remembered us every morning we came to breakfast. Such great service! Others that deserve some recognition were Pedro 1 & 2, Solomon (takes very good care while at the pool!), Carlos in entertainment was a blast, and Juan, super nice fella! We had an amazing time! We look forward to returning again soon.
