Beautiful resort with its flaws
We stayed in the Bahia Principe Fantasia for 18 days, with around 8 people. I am not sure if this resort is the best for long term stays. From the first day there were issues with the room, such as broken fixtures, not working appliances and below par AC. We tried to resolve these issues but they kept coming one after the other, and you need to push the front desk in order to get things resolved, their priority does not seem to be the guest. There are amazing employees however in the bars and buffet, but there’s a large amount that are rude and nasty. There’s a big sense of disorganization within the staff. Having a car in the parking lot is a hassle, because for the most part, cars aren’t allowed into the resort because they transport guests using a golf cart system. In order to reach the hotel you need to ask the bellboys with red shirts to take you. However these are the rudest most lazy people there might be in the resort, even resorting to yelling at us. The food (from the buffet) and drinks are amazing. Most of the a la carte restaurants are closed due to COVID, but those that are open are awful as well. The garden circus is horrendous, as well as the Italian restaurant, with limited choices, and food options that are served cold and with little care. The best ones are the tequila restaurant and the hindu restaurant. When we are about to leave, I attempted to order room service around 10pm, when check out was at 12, and they refused to serve us anything. Overall it’s a very nice resort with kind people, but is tainted by the rude and selfish people.
bahia principe fantasia punta cana is fantastic! fast check in , following all the covid19 protocols my family and i felt very safe all staff are wearing masks and reinforcing customers to wear them. hotel staff, waitress, housekeepers were very friendly and honest (i had couple scenarios with hotel staff interaction that made me feel that). our rooms were in front of the castle. very clean and it seems like the room was renovated recently. the food at the restaurants were very delicious. many variety food. you can either walk to the beach or they can take you with a golf cart. i preferred to walk. it’s about 150mts (500ft) away from fantasia. beautiful beach. very clean. except the seaweeds that was not a problem for us. there are lifeguards at the beach and at the pool. i didn’t know but drones are prohibited! the security asked me to put it away. i was still able to take some shots! all the chairs at the beach and pools are being disinfected regularly. the only thing that bothered me was the internet is slow and every 15mins kicks you out and you have to register all over again. but i still recommend 100% this place! i can’t wait to go back there.
Nice All-Inclusive Resort
Our group of 10 enjoyed a nice stay here at the Bahia Fantasia! Although check-in took much longer than it should have, perhaps due to enhanced safety-cleanliness issues, the stay was very nice nonetheless. Rooms were spacious and clean. Nice short walk from the villas to the beachfront. Nice large swimming pool to relax in and soak up the sun! Kid friendly waterpark. Gym was very spacious and had suitable workout equipment. Food was exceptional! Johan and Marcel, two of the entertainers hired by the resort kept guests entertained during the day and evening! They were great actors and made our stay more enjoyable!
Great "worry free" family resort!
Family of 4 traveled to Punta .Cana. looking for some R/R and got just that! The Facility was massive! But although it's huge- (un)fortunately we arrived during a spike in COVID- & it affected traveling-which looked like the hotel was about 20% capacity. It allowed us to move throughout the facility with ease and not bumping into other guests as much as we would have, at any other resort. The facility, from you step foot out of your taxi- was sanitized - all the way thru-even the beach chairs were sanitized all day EVERY DAY! They take keeping guests as safe as possible VERY seriously! Following all W.H.O. guidelines of mask wearing, social distancing and temperature checks. Rooms were spacious. Shows were entertaining. Food was plentiful and tasteful. Wait staff were excellent! Every last one of them had the "no problem" mantra! Shout out to Wifi(wait staff supervisor), Alberto(chef) , & Junior & Melania (waiters). All of them are top tier service industry workers and deserve special recognition! They really went out of their way to make our dining experiences special!
Excellent Hotel for Kids
We were at Bahia Principe Ambar twice before. It was excellent for Adults. However this hotel is different. It’s built for Kids. Pros: The resort is built for kids. Our 4 years old had a vacation of his life. He was so happy. He enjoyed the following: the kids’ water park, the pools and the kids’ club. We couldn’t attend any of the shows because they were late. The service was excellent. At the pool, the staff was always asking us what we want to drink. They were always there. The main buffet was very good. It had a lot of varieties. We had lobsters on many nights. It was not a cheap buffet. We tried two a la carte restaurants: the Steak house (at the main castle) and the Mexican (at the beach). They were both excellent. They clean the rooms twice per day. Cons: We had some problems in the room. They were dealt with in a quick manner. The beach was wavy. But that is Punta Cana. Although the main buffet is not cheap, it’s approximately the same food for every day with some slight variations. There was some kind of a bad smell in the main restaurant just before entering the buffet. The management has to check that out.
