    Worst service at a Ritz we’ve ever had!

    Let’s start by saying this place is definitely not a 5 star resort. It’s not even close to a 4 star resort. This hotel lacks in every aspect of the word “hospitality”. 2 weeks before check in I made several calls to the front desk and reservations department and explained we were traveling with two children ages 15 and 11 and would like to request our rooms next to each other or at least close. We were bounced around from person to person each day and should have known this place didn’t have it together from the start. Upon checking in our keys were taken for our rental car, our bags unloaded and then never shown the way to check in. Asked to be directed and they offered us a drink which they never brought us. Upon check in the desk clerk told us that they could not accommodate our request of being close. So we were on floor 3 and our kids were on floor 1. They said they could not accommodate until the following night which was fine. So the next night we were thankfully moved to the room next to our kids. But that didn’t happen until after 5pm, which we were given the new keys and no assistance with our bags was offered so we had to wait to leave hotel for dinner until we moved ourselves. The rooms at the resort are small and outdated. We paid 1200$ a night per room which is RIDICULOUS for this property. Our room was cleaned literally cleaned twice in 5 days. One turn down service and then never again. We had to repeatedly ask for more towels, etc. We were celebrating our daughters birthday and asked if they could provide something special in room or at breakfast, received nothing. I’m a titanium elite member and have stayed at many Ritz Carltons and this was by far the worst. There was a lack of personality, helpfulness, or even accountability of just about every person on property. The only helpful agent was Stephen in the club lounge. At $80 a day, per room, resort fee you don’t even so much as get complimentary coffee in the am. The club opened at 8am and of course we had coffee and breakfast included here, which sadly was mediocre offerings at best. However if you wanted coffee before 8am good luck. Asked for two cups to room early one morning before fishing charter...$23!! Concierge never followed up with any requests. Couldn’t help us make dinner reservations. So luckily again referred back to Stephen. And dinner one night on property at Sails was one of the worst beach dinners we’ve had and came with a $750 Bill! Mind you we provided the fish we caught that day and two bottles of wine. At check out we explained our displeasure and not a word, apology,..nothing. The only thing this place has going for it is the couple of nice views.

    A perfect wedding venue

    Son & daughter-in-law’s destination wedding was perfect start to finish. Beautiful location, delicious food and impeccable service (special kudos to Meredith the wedding coordinator who was simply amazing...). It was a difficult time to have a wedding with COVID restrictions and weather issues that arose due to tropical storm but the staff really rose to the occasion and worked hard to make it a perfect event. As an example: an unexpected deluge popped up at the start of wedding dinner on beach. We all took shelter and after the squall passed the staff moved in, bringing warm towels, resetting all the tables, relighting lights and beach bonfire - all within minutes. Hardly a ripple to an event which could have been disastrous with less accommodating and professional people. Overall very impressive.

    Relaxation during covid

    A getaway in the USA Iam familiar with the ritz Carlton brand . I do realize covid restrictions may have stopped some of the traditional ritz nuances example : turn down service , varied menus at numerous restaurants. None of the above were avail. From a positive : room was nicely appointed , pool and spa staff were very accommodating . Just very disappointed with the departure day . I was told the latest I could delay checking out was 12noon. I had a 230pm pickup for airport transportation . Iam now fully dressed for my flight . went the lobby to checkout . Nothing to do from this point, the lobby is hot no bar To enjoy a cool drink . The airport does not have a Ritz-Carlton lounge . Just left with a bad(hot )disappointing taste . Theisland Is suffering terribly from a lack of tourism . Again I respect the covid restrictions but the ritz standard is not being upheld

    Disappointing

    I've had better service at the DMV! Don't bother calling the front desk. They won't answer. Need towels...go find them yourself. I know COVID makes things challenging but this hotel shouldn't be charging full price for a less than half price experience. The property is beautiful but there are a ton of beautiful resorts on the island with better customer service. Don't waste your money.

    Not a Ritz-Carlton. Left early

    We arrived yesterday and we’ve had several issues. Room not being ready, cancelled lunch mid-way, non-existing concierge, manager on duty looking into our case “left” for the day without solving the issue.... this has been an extremely frustrating experience. We were originally staying 4 nights but we cancelled the trip and we left early. Disappointed, definitely not a Ritz-Carlton experience, they should drop the flagship.
