The Staff was amazing! My favorites! Benji Sanchez, Tomas Bartender, Pablo, Martin and Zule they never let us go empty at the bar and were very accommodating when we would get creative with our drink orders! Room service was fast and cleaning was often. Staff was constantly cleaning in between services and contact. Hand sanitizer was everywhere you turned! The views were amazing and they offered fun entertainment! 4th of July celebration was a blast! We were happy with our stay and will return! Love you guys, Your Texcellent Family!
Mexico Get Away during COVID-19
We have to give a big shout out to this location for everything they did to make our trip safe and fun! The resort staff were all so accommodating and nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The views from our balcony were breathtaking. The food was delicious! They have an incredible chef that delivers a great meal. Service was sometimes a little slow but we know they are not 100% at full staff capacity. The hotel is only at 30% capacity and this week was only around 17% which is a perfect time to travel if you just want to get away. The activities were fun during the day and evening. Ricky was probably our favorite with the water aerobics. The 4th of July celebration was over the top with food and fireworks. We will definitely come back when things settle back down with the virus.
So clean and pretty
Just like the other reviews, this is the perfect place to escape the COVID mess! All of the employees wear masks all of the time, and you can't get a drink or anything to eat without being squirted with hand sanitizer, but as a guest it was very comfortable. They are keeping the resort at 30% capacity right now, so not every restaurant is open every night, but that's just fine. Here are a couple of helpful tips for staying here right now: Hibachi at the Japanese restaurant is nothing special, so don't cry if you don't get a reservation. If you really want one, call down to the concierge at 9am on a day that Himitsu is open, but we instead just preferred to go down at our leisure, without a reservation and eat the sushi. If you sit outside the guys don't have to wear pants (it's VERY hot right now). Bring your own straw if that's important to you (silicone or stainless steel of course). There are no drinking straws at the resort. Bring a blow up pool float if you want one. I guess because of Covid they don't have those right now, either. Lunch served at the pool is burgers, nachos, guacamole, hot dogs, etc. If you want something better and you want to eat at the pool, order room service and carry it down there from your room. Poolside beds are $30/day and are so nice. You have to reserve them in advance or they will be sold out. They are not necessary, though, there are plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Golf is not included. They have special rates for the guests. My husband was able to book a package of three all-inclusive rounds for $360 that included booze, food, cart, etc. He loved it and said the course was a lot of fun, covering both the mountains and the beach area. We even snuck out onto the course by the resort one evening with a couple of clubs and played four holes. That was fun! (and I'm sure not allowed, what rebels!) The pool staff HUSTLES all day in the heat with a mask on. Tip those guys!! They deserve it. You're very well taken care of here. Bring some scissors to cut open the sanitized items like hand soap, silverware, shampoo, etc. Everything comes in these plastic sanitized bags that are impossible to open. The preferred pool is REALLY pretty, but don't feel like you have to book preferred. The main pool is gorgeous, too, and I like how there are trees in the pool for shade that the preferred pool doesn't have. Have a GREAT time!
This was my first time visiting a Secrets resort & my expectations were blown away. The staff & service was outstanding & the grounds & amenities were immaculate. I can certainly see why this resort received so many raving reviews. The entertainment was amazing & Ricky (entertainment team) captivated us from day one - he went over & beyond making guests feel welcome & constantly had us laughing and engaged in activities each day! Abelarado (pool wait staff) exceeded our expectations as well. Extraordinary service! Clearly Secrets takes pride in their employees & it shows! BEST TRIP & RESORT EVER! We’re already planning our next trip & will only book at Secrets Resorts going forward!
The food. The staff. The people we met. Were all amazing. Ricky was our favorite with the entertainment group #bestabs. Miguel was an amazing server. The views. Everything about vacation was amazing. Will be back.
