This was in March before Pandemic just now have time to review. We have been to D.R 14 times and This is our 4th time to Mexico and must say that this was the best. Staff were phenomenal, extremely friendly, always had a smile and high fives. We traveled with two Children 12 and 14 . The staff were excellent with them always looking for them to play sports and when meeting them they never forgot there names always high fives and hugs . The meals were great and a la carte excellent, only complaint the buffet needs a pasta bar especially for teenagers. The rooms were spacious and very clean fridge always replenished. If you go to this resort make sure you go to the town of Puerto Morelos we went by hotel supplied transportation next time we will go by taxi to have more time. People very friendly will be going back next time. Woman running the glass bottom boat tour was excellent no pressure and gave us a tour of the Harbor showed us the fisherman cleaning fish etc watched the Manta ray come right up next to us.unfortunately we were unable to do the excursion but will for sure the next time. We will be going back for sure next time hopefully soon. Sorry i am unable to remember the names of the staff but all were excellent they are what made our stay so enjoyable. Women in Coffee shop was great remembered what we took in our coffees..
booked this hotel through LastMinute.Com - they were bottom of the pile.
I booked this hotel through LastMinute.Com - they were bottom of the pile. I wont be booking with them again and I would advise anyone not to book with them. We paid £3000 for a 10 day holiday in this resort in Cancun where the hotel was not up to standard, all the facilities were closed whilst we were there, (it was not as described) and sub-standard food in the hotel gave me food poisoning. In short I received: • Poor service provision, (in not providing the standard of holiday I paid for) • Misrepresentation of facts, (It was subsequently alleged by Lastminute.com that I had sought to cancel my holiday after I had it - I had not!) • Ineptitude in resolving this matter, (They made an offer of compensation and then withdrew it) • Lack of empathy and understanding, (using derisory and rude language used in response to me) • Lack of recognition a legal responsibility to make recompense, (as required by law) On that basis my solicitor will be in touch.
Beautiful pool and friendly staff
Resort was lovely. Very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet was the smallest I have ever seen at a resort which was a disappointment. However, there were sit down restaurants open for lunch which was a nice touch and the food/service was excellent. The pool side grill was great - a fun place for a quick lunch. The menu didn't vary much over the week, but the burgers were delicious. Drinks were not top shelf liquor but they were plentiful. Bar staff was great. We were in a building, I believe was called Labna. Our balcony overlooked the employee area of the next resort. There were buses and cars coming all through the day and night. Sitting out on the balcony wasn't pleasant as a result due to the noise and the lack of view. This was the biggest negative of the vacation. Aside from the room location, the resort was pleasant and very well kept and the staff were great
Just wanted to commend Now Sapphire and my travel agent Ann Williams on taking care of my reservation. I was looking forward to attending a wedding there in May 2020. My questions and my reservation was completed with ease. Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic , my vacation was canceled. Ann Williams quickly handled my refund knowing at this time people’s finances were of great importance. I hope I will be able to visit Now Sapphire soon!!
We stayed here as a two couples (one couple aged 30 and the other 60-family holiday without kids) and has a fantastic time. We upgraded to preferred beach facing rooms before arriving and we were glad we did; we often had a drink on the balcony in the morning and evening looking out across the beach. The rooms were spacious and well decorated, we really liked them and can imagine they are even better now after the refurbishment. The resort was very busy when we arrived on the Saturday and then quietened down in the week and became busy again at the weekend, it would seem a lot of American couples/families/groups came for long weekends. The staff were great, a mention has to go to the amazing Feliciano at the beach bar, he really made us feel so welcome and looked after us so well, learning our favourites quickly but offering alternatives based on what we liked. By far our favourite member of staff, so much so we popped down on our last morning to say goodbye. The food is beautiful, in the morning/lunch time, we would often pop to the buffet restaurants or Cafe Coco (great coffee and snacks) but in the evening we preferred the a la carte restaurants to buffet. There was sometimes quite a wait but you were given a buzzer and could head for a drink whilst you waited. The Asian restaurant was the most difficult to get in to we tried 3 evenings and ended up heading there for opening to finally get a table. Our favourite restaurant was Paramour the food was beautiful. The resort has a good selection of drinks/cocktails if you’re not sure what you want just ask, the staff are happy to help you out. The preferred lounge was a bit odd, it felt cramped, too bright, and frantic at times, so although we were preferred we rarely went in, it would be better if there was a bar to be served at rather than the waiter having to run backwards and forwards to the main bar (he must be exhausted!). Also the check-in and check-out desks could be moved out of there as on busy check-in days it was manic. It is worth noting though it is a lively resort. There is a specific kids zone which had movies and activities all day which looked good for those with families. However, the preferred pool is very quiet and tranquil. We generally had a relaxing time on the beach/round one of the pools finding a quiet spot to read in the day. The main pool has activities going on most of the day, but evening is where this place got lively. There seemed to be large groups of college kids getting very drunk (someone mentioned that we might have hit a college vacation time) who were quite loud at times and one evening there was a man in the ladies loo's one evening half naked (security dealt with him very quickly) and one of our party had a couple next door who were part of a wedding party who had a very heated argument one evening, to which they called security (it sounded horrendous) but again security arrived to this quickly. We’ve been to Mexico before to a different resort and the service and food/drinks at both has been superb but would definitely say this is a more lively resort (it really depends on what you like), we like a bit of both so this worked for us. Another huge thanks to Feliciano, you made the holiday lovely jubbly!
