WOW Experience at Sunscape Ixtapa
WOW WOW WOW The Best week ever of my life spent at Sunscape Dorado Pacifico, Ixtapa. This was our first vacation at this location. A group of 10 family members went for a vacation together. When we arrived at the check in, staff were all welcoming and the cool drink was refreshing. The only hiccup was that we all were given rooms in different floors even though we booked the vacation together for 10 people. They promised to change the rooms as soon as it becomes available within couple of days and they did that as well. Our room was a partial ocean view on the 21st floor with comfortable beds and a stocked mini bar. Our housekeeper did an excellent job on daily basis. We were privileged to spend one week at Sunscape Ixtapa. The beach was beautiful. The ocean somewhat dangerous for whole week with Black flag, and the weather was very hot. The sunsets were breathtaking. In regard to food we had a little problem on our own. We all are Vegetarian. There were hundreds of items in the food section and all looking fantastic but I am unable to rate them as we did not tried most of them. But what standout is that we mentioned one day to Jorge Luis Sanchez the Chief Concierge about this and he offered to make a special menu for everyday that we will be staying. Although he went this far to please us, I respectfully accepted his offer for one day and told him that we will be just fine with so many fruits and vegetables and Taco Chips available. Where on the Earth you will find service like this, I don't know. The WHOLE Staff at Sunscape are the best in the business of providing the best service and showing you an amazing time while on vacation. I personally thanks everyone of you as it is impossible to mentioned all the names. You all are exceptional on what you do. But I will mention a few. A special shout out to Jorge Luis Sanchez the Chief Concierge, Benito, Hannia and Nadia at the restaurant, Rosy & Claudia at the front. A Super shout out to two more extraordinary people. Lorena Huerta at member services and Andre the Chef. These two outstanding personality went way above and beyond to make our group vacation a memory of the lifetime. Thank you to both of you. Only one suggestion: Internet is sporadic, and only available in the lobby. May be add few extra dollars to the initial cost of the vacation and provide internet for free as well. Since its called "All Inclusive" so try to make it All Inclusive. Had an amazing time in Sunscape Dorado Ixtapa. Beautiful resort and safe place to be in town. You all are best at making all of us feel welcome and at home. We will definitely be back next year. Thank You
Very nice location
Everything was great. Good food excellent service and great location. Only complaint we had was the beds weren't very comfortable. But kuddos goes out to Simon, Ramundo and Javier for great service and always very pleasant with a smile.
Terrible food - everything else great
Sorry but we've travelled a lot, and done a lot of all-inclusives all over the Caribbean and this one has the worst food we've ever had. The buffet was small with limited selection and the food was tasteless. Some items we couldn't even figure out what flavour they were supposed to be! We tried the Bluewater Grill a la carte to see if that was better and it was awful too. We just ate across the street at the variety of restaurants, so good thing that we were able to get a deal on this hotel or we'd have been upset about that. Everything else was good - the service, housekeeping in the rooms (although public spaces were a bit shabby), the pool and beach area. The beach was great! This is a perfect location: wonderful beach, close to shops and bars, and beautiful weather. But they really need to do something about the food or it will discourage people from coming back. I noticed that they didn't have a Food category on the departure survey, which is why I couldn't rate it poorly. I wonder if they did that on purpose?
Father/Daughter March Getaway
This was our first vacation to Ixtapa at the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico as my Father and I travel to different places throughout Mexico 2-3 times a year! We were pleasantly surprised at the short trip from the airport to the hotel. When we arrived the staff were all welcoming and the cool drink was refreshing. Unfortunately, we didn't appreciate being harassed daily by the TIMESHARE staff in the lobby! They were relentless and even partook in our WestJet meet and greet which I have never seen before and hope to NEVER see again! Our room was a partial ocean view on the 19th floor with comfortable beds and a stocked mini bar. Matiude our housekeeper did an excellent job! We liked the no wristband feature and no reservations for a la cart restaurants. The restaurants and service were more than adequate and Rafael Pascacio, waiter, always greeted us and welcomed us to his section daily. His outstanding professional customer service brought us a smile daily! Evening Entertainment was ok however the costumes were far superior to other places we have been to. Kudos to the Mexican culture coordinators! The pool concierge, Jesus, always had a cheerful, positive attitude towards everyone daily! His smile was contagious! The beach waiter, Giovanni, was outstanding in his service and should be greatly commended as he is definitely an asset to the the team! His quick service and memory of what we drank was unpresidented! We enjoyed seeing him everyday! The beach was excellent however the waves were strong and made it difficult to go swimming! The pool was a welcome reprieve! We also felt the safe walking the beach and outside the property! We would recommend this place to family and friends without hesitation.
Holiday with Friends
Spent one week in Sunscape Dorado and had a wonderful time. A group of 8 friends went for a vacation . The beach was beautiful, the ocean somewhat dangerous, and the weather very hot. The location of the resort was desirable with so many places and things to see and do within walking distance. The resort itself is small, which we prefer, but could use some upgrades throughout. The food selection was okay, but could also use some new and fresh ideas. We did eat off the resort quite a bit which helped with the variety. The hours for the bars were quite strange, some not opening until 11 or 1 and closing by 11. There should be at least one 24 hour bar on site. Same with food service. If leaving on an excursion before buffet opens in the morning you are SOL on getting any breakfast or to go sandwiches etc. Our room had a beautiful view but we did not get a king size bedroom as per our paid upgrade and request. So that was a waste of money. All in all the resort was a 3 1/2 star but for the price we paid and the fun we had with our friends it was a great time! Oh almost forgot, walk down the beach to the right of the resort and get the best massage ever for really cheap,
