    Disappointed

I would not recommend this resort. After countless stays at various all-inclusive resorts all over Mexico, our stay at the Fiesta Americana Condesa in Cancun was the most disappointing. There were of course some pros which included their beach and food/dining options, and most of the staff. Unfortunately, the rest of the amenities were either poor or mediocre at best. Very unfortunate considering the price and other positive reviews. It seems that FAC cares more about cramming people in and squeezing them for every last penny than they do about the customer experience. First, upon check-in, we realized that we were not placed anywhere near the rest of the families traveling in our group (4 rooms total). We had requested that we be placed somewhere near my brother’s family, conjoining rooms if possible, as our kids are very close and spend a lot of time together. For safety and convenience, we always prefer rooms together. For the record, we had both purchased “Premium Ocean View” rooms and documented in the booking notes that we wanted to be near each other. At check in, due to the hotel over-booking “Ocean View” rooms, my brother’s family was put into an “Ocean Front” room for no additional fee. Once it was our turn to check in, we mentioned that we had requested rooms close to each other and I was told that I would need to pay an additional $600 for an “Ocean Front” room to be near the rest of my family. I was shocked. My brother’s family was moved out of negligence of the hotel by overbooking the rooms we paid for and I was charged an outrageous fee to have a room near them. After I had some time to sit on this, we went back with the help of a DB Experience advisor to talk to the front desk manager. He was completely unwilling to help us in any way and said the only way I could receive a refund was if my brother’s family packed up all their things and moved to another room, putting us back in the position of being in separate wings of the hotel. The front desk manager said “hey, its not my fault, it’s the market”. How is it not your fault? I felt very taken-advantage of and manipulated into spending more $$$. This wasn’t even the only time that someone in our group was taken advantage of. Another couple with us booked a cabana for the day and was charged $100 only to find out the day of the rental that there was a wedding that evening and they needed to be out of the cabana by 2pm (reservation was from 8am-6pm). When they voiced concerns about this, they were offered a 10% discount….for missing out on 4 hours of a paid cabana? Other cons; complete lack of privacy in the rooms. The shower and toilet only have glass doors and are open to the room. Not ideal if you’re traveling with older kids or another couple. Restaurant reservations are a joke. Couldn’t book anything other than at 9pm for the entire week even though we tried to book the morning after arriving. The pool entertainment was mediocre and off set by people just trying to sell you massages, excursions, tickets to clubs, etc. all while you sit and have watered down drinks by the pool. On the topic of pool drinks, bring your own cups as I saw the bartenders just haphazardly rinse out plastic cups and shot glasses and serve other patrons with them. Also, if you want a chair by the pool, you better get up with the sun and go throw a towel on a chair if you want anywhere to sit that day. Overall, your money would be better spent booking another hotel, one with management who really cares about your experience and doesn’t try to take advantage of you.

Disappointing Experience at Fiesta Americana Condensa Cancun

My recent stay at Fiesta Americana Condensa Cancun left much to be desired. Despite selecting the hotel based on positive past experiences with the Fiesta Americana brand, this particular establishment fell short in numerous aspects. From lackluster dining options to subpar amenities, it's safe to say that my family and I won't be returning anytime soon. One of the most significant letdowns was the food quality and variety. The buffet seemed to offer little beyond repetitive taco nights or macaroni and cheese, leaving us craving more diverse and flavorful options. Making reservations at the dinner restaurants proved to be a frustrating ordeal, with limited availability, often inconvenient timing, especially when traveling with children. Even when we managed to secure a table, the experience was far from satisfying. The steakhouse served tough, undercooked overly salty flank steak and overly salty chicken, while the Mexican restaurant's offerings lacked authenticity and were disappointingly bland. The Italian restaurant was the sole highlight in terms of food quality, albeit only to a certain extent. Accommodations were another area of concern. Despite the recent renovation, the room felt tired and rundown, with noticeable maintenance issues such as a bathroom door that wouldn't close properly- we had to use tissue to lock the door. While the room service was efficient, it couldn't compensate for the overall lack of comfort and ambiance within the room. AC was pretty loud. Additionally, the beachfront, a key attraction for many guests, was often unsuitable for swimming during our stay, particularly problematic when traveling with young children. While Fiesta Americana Condensa Cancun may have had redeeming qualities in the past, my recent experience was far from satisfactory. From mediocre dining options to substandard accommodations and an unreliable beachfront, it's evident that this establishment has significant room for improvement. Regrettably, my family and I won't be revisiting this particular Fiesta Americana property in the future.
