    Excellent stay

    For 7 years now, we are staying at this hotel. I will say that this tells you how much we like it here. Rooms, food and hospitality are exceptional. We will come back next year.

    Hacienda Dominicus - Another Great Visit!

    This was our fifth visit to Hacienda Dominicus and eighth overall to an Iberostar resort. Once we found Iberostar, we have stayed there exclusively. We had not been to Hacienda Dominicus in a year and a half, having gone to Bavaro Suites twice during that time instead. As always, Hacienda Dominicus did not disappoint and it was great to see a lot of familiar faces! When we arrived, we were greeted by Carlos at the club concierge. He has always been great and helped out with anything we needed during the stay. Domingo, from the club, would check on us anytime he saw us around the resort. He always wanted to make sure we didn’t need anything, down to making sure we had selected a good wine for dinner. At the club bar, Florimon always greeted us with a smile and set us up with the best drinks. His whiskey sours are second to none! The beach was perfect as usual and it was great to see our friends Manuel and Carlos at the beach club bar. Their service was excellent and they were always sure to make sure there wasn’t anything we needed. Knowing we liked limoncello, they were quick to get two more bottles for us when they ran out. Our son said they made the best Bahama Mamas! The resort as a whole was second to none. The grounds are well kept and the service is great. We can not wait to take another trip back!

    Very much enjoyed our week with a few issues.

    Our overall experience was positive. Rooms very nice and clean. Had some issues getting clean towels and washcloths and was told by housekeeping at one point that they had no washcloths. My response "are you serious?" was met with a comment and loud laughter by 2 male workers with the housekeeper. After checking 2 other carts on another floor I found some. This was after we had requested cleaning service 7 hrs earlier. When we returned and saw it hadn't been done, we explained we had reservations and would like clean bath linens. An hr later, still no clean linens. Maybe need more cleaning staff as she was the only one on our floor. I was also feeling a little discriminated against at the bars. Twice I approached, made eye contact with the bartender and a man approached and stood next to me and was waited on before me. Enjoyed the Colonial restaurant the most. Japanese was entertaining but meat was dry. Great fish tacos at Mexican. Buffet was good but was hoping for more fish than what was served. Beach rules state that saving seats was not allowed. After 45 min of absence towels will be removed. There was no sign stating this from the side I approached and I was very upset to find our 8 loungers occupied, personal belongings tossed on a single unoccupied chair and towels gone after breakfast. Fortunately a kind broken-English speaking woman told me the staff did it or I was ready to confront the people in "our" chairs. Out of curiosity I went early several mornings after that and found dozens of chairs reserved and obviously not as many people around as reserved spots. Not one time were the reserved seats disturbed. It made us contemplate a bias against Americans....sure hope not! I understand the rules but if they are going to be enforced, it should be for all. For the most part staff was friendly but we did not receive the genuine, enthusiastically friendly greetings and vibes we have gotten when in Jamaica. The grounds were beautiful. Lush tropical plants and wildlife. Very well kept. One of the loveliest we have stayed at. Suggestion for lobby staff...make everyone aware of the vouchers that are offered through travel agencies. It took a while to find someone who knew what we were talking about. The lounge singers were great in the evening. Most of the scheduled entertainment in the auditorium didn't appeal to us enough to stay up that late. This vacation was a multi-celebration event. This summer is our 50th wedding anniversary, my husband turns 70, later this year my son is 50. My grandson celebrated his 19th while there. We were very pleased with the great location of our rooms and appreciated the obvious gesture! Signs on our doors for the occasions and recognition of grandson's birthday at buffet also much appreciated. If we didn't prefer trying something new each time we would go back.

    6th time. Terrible disappointment.

    I have stayed at this hotel 6 times with my family. We have always had the best experience and customer service. I have even recommended this hotel to several family members and friends who became loyal guests as well. This time before booking (as usual) I emailed the hotel to reserve star prestige. I received an email back stating the cost and asking for my reservation number and name if I would like to go forward with the booking. I went on to make the reservation at the hotel and emailed back. At this point point the story changed. Once they had our money and our booking they told us they can no longer make the star prestige reservation. I tried to explain that he should have told me this BEFORE I booked the hotel (instead of confirming availability and asking if I want to go forth with the reservation). The whole reason we go to this hotel is for the star prestige. I understand that they want to prioritize members but that should have been stated instead of tricking me into a booking. I now have to pay a large sum of money to switch hotels. They do not care that I have been a loyal customer. They do not care that they made a mistake in offering the reservation and then went back on it. When I spoke to them on the phone they also confirmed I could purchase the star prestige. As soon as I made the hotel reservation they went back on their word. Disappointed to see such a great hotel run such shady practices.

    Beach freedom

    The best part of the hotel is the entertaining you get on the beach, the staff are amazing. Come visit because you will not regret it. Try to do all the games and dance with whoever you want Iberostar is one of the best hotels in the area, you will not regret coming to Bayahibe

     The resort is a family oriented environment and thus has implemented the following policy for Spring Breakers reservations. Spring Breakers are defined as Students/youth between 16 and 23 years of age. 

    - One parent or chaperone at least 25 years of age will be required per room for check-in. Adults accompanying are responsible for the students’ behavior.
    - In the event that any guest(s) engage in inappropriate behavior disrespecting Hotel staff and/or other guests or causing physical
    damages to the facilities, the Hotel Management reserves the right to expel the guest(s) without reimbursement or refund of the
    remaining nights.

    SPRING BREAK GROUPS POLICY - 
    Students/youth are considered between 16 and 23 years of age. In addition to the Spring Break Policy for all bookings traveling March-April, Groups shall adhere to the following conditions:

    - Any student/youth group must be pre-approved and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
    - Upon check-in, each group will be required to leave refundable cash deposit per room for any charges or damages that might be incurred during the stay.
