    We were treated like royalty!

El CID Marina is the most peaceful and quiet of the three El CID locations. The inclusive option gives you several choices for restaurants among the three El CID resorts. A short water taxi ride leads to private, quiet beach with many cabanas and attentive waiters that will bring you food and drink. Mazatlán is a Spanish speaking community, it helps to brush up on your Spanish courtesy phrases. It is the norm to greet workers and strangers at the resort. Please be patient with other's English as they have been with our beginning Spanish. Keep small bills handy to tip generously like you would in the US. They earned it as we were treated like royalty!

    Wonderful resort

Staying at the Marina is such a pleasant experience! The rooms are large and bright and clean. Some people say, " There isn't a bad room in the whole resort." But the Marina isn't about the rooms, gorgeous landscaping, or the amenities -- it is about the people. And the people who deliver services at El Cid, from chambermaid to manager, are attentive, friendly and helpful. They listen. They connect. They are professional and above all, they are kind. For example, I cut my shin at the pool. The sweet lifeguard performed first aid every day for weeks. ( I am slow to heal! ) Changing the dressing, washing it out and applying medicine soo gently . Because of her care, I didn't need to spend money going to a doctor. The 2 restaurants on site as well as pool and beach snack bars offer delicious varied menus. The snack bars offer more than snacks: shrimp salad in 1/2 avocado, fresh coconut shrimp, unbelievable onion rings , swordfish filet! The outdoor dining Terrasa has a very gourmet menu with live music entertainment at night. And you can take a free shuttle bus to other restaurants around the entire resort. We love the Mexican restaurant at El Moro Tower and the huge palapa called La Concha for breakfast or dinner on the ocean! The pools, poolside activities, are great fun --- poker, bingo, Spanish lessons, pool aerobics, stretching exercises, back ball, darts, pool volleyball! So much! The private beach is a 5 minute ferry ride across the bay and it too has a great snack bar. Some people take the ferry at sunset , have a drink , watch the sunset before dinner. The exciting city is just a bus or taxi ride away and it is FULL of activities ( world class aquarium, observatorio & whale museum) and hot night spots with music and bistros.

Happy vacation in a lovely resort

We stayed at El Cid Marina in early April. It is a beautiful and tranquil resort with a well maintained landscape. The one bedroom room was spacious and very clean. Our balcony was very small but the view of the marina was beautiful and starting the morning with the rising sun always set the day. We stayed in the building at the far end but the walk to the reception and the restaurants was short and pleasant. And if you are not in a mood for a walk you can call for a cart that drives around the buildings. There are small stores at the resort including groceries but we preferred to go to the Fresh Market supermarket with good selection and prepared food to go. There is a free shuttle between the sister resorts, we often took it to go to a Fresh Market or to the other beach for a stunning sunset. El Cid Marina has a private beach with a very short ride across the channel. If you go for a walk on the beach to the rocks you can spot small blue crabs on the rocks (if they are not hiding). The people at the resort are always friendly and helpful and provide great service. Our special thanks go to Joshe Arellano, Armando Arias and Claudia Juárez who not only made our vacation a great experience but stayed in touch with us after we left and went above and beyond their responsibilities and helped us to find my husband's phone left in a taxi and sent it back to us.
